Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

lucky - yes it is a bank holiday but she had said that she would do the class. The one I usually go to is an express weigh-in so it will be great to go to an actual class and listen to a talk!

Good luck with the WI in work - you will so beat that guy!

Androbob I think I know where you are, I sometimes drive through your place when getting to the 59 or to go to morrisons's. thats if i'm thinking of the right place. Do you go to the gym on the big island? i looked at that but couldn't afford it.

Do you go to a local meeting? i've been looking for one since mine in ormskirk got cancelled till 6th jan but mbe no point in trying to get to one now as i wouldn't know wether any were closed for holidays etc.

I wish i'd met you on here last year when i moved as i didn't know anyone in the area and know i'm on the move again, hey ho. oh by the way my parents are near darlington in the NE

hmc · 20/12/2010 18:21

Well done Justabout and Boodleboot on your weight losses this week, particularly given all that scoffing Justabout!

I live about 20 miles away from Amesbury Vnmum - you should enjoy Wiltshire, did I miss it or did you say what brings you to these parts?

Enjoying reading about all your snow stories - we had another 3 or 4 inches today. Perhaps drive clearing tomorrow so the man from Ocado can deliver my Christmas groceries on Wednesday morning.

Well done for getting back on track after digestive-gate Norma - the fab thing about the new plan however is that handy weekly allocation of 49 propoints is perfect for covering those little lapses!

I was at a friends for dinner at the weekend - didn't attempt to propoint the meal (waaay too difficult; french onion soup, beef in some sort of rich sauce, lyonnaise potatoes and green beans followed by a rich lemon mousse). I just assumed that it used every single one of my 49 weekly points, especially sinced it was washed down with a glass of wine or 4. Otherwise still religiously sticking to the diet.

Still nursing a productive cough so haven't exercised since Thursday and am really missing it! Hopefully better by the end of the week

Meanwhile, dd has a friend over for sleepover ... so they are watching The Grinch in the living room whilst I am hiding in the study!

hmc It's killing me not exercising. I hate it! Hope you feel better soon.

Feeling chuffed as just popped into town after work and managed to get [[http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=2157818&langId=-1&categoryId=&parent_category_rn=&searchTerm=05195401&resultCount=1 this dress] to wear on Christmas Day with berry red opaque tights. It's really sweet on, and it's something I would wear again.

Had a naughty day today, had about 6 chocs out of a tin at work. I think it's cos after tomorrow I will have a few days off, but without going mad (don't worry!). Not stressing about too much.

My WI was cancelled this am, so will have to rely on my home scales this week.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 20/12/2010 18:42

this dress

BigTillyMincepie · 20/12/2010 20:06

Lucky nice dress. Is it the showdown tomorrow?

Littlefish · 20/12/2010 20:09

Oooh, lovely dress Lucky.

I don't think I'll be able to weigh in tomorrow - I've got a late hospital appointment and won't have time to do both. I'm a bit sad actually as I've been really good this week and wanted to see whether I could lose the last 3.5lbs to take me up to 2stone. Sad

I think I'll see if there's a class I can go to on Wednesday or Thursday instead.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 20/12/2010 20:39

littlefish do you have scales at home? Or places like Boots have them? Although not ideal I guess as might not be calibrated the same (the scales at my gym weigh me about 9lbs lighter than any other scales Hmm).
All you can do is your best to get to a class Weds or Thurs. Otherwise, you should have an even bigger loss to show for your efforts in the new year!!

Yes, BigTillyMincePie It is the final showdown tomorrow....then out for our dept Christmas lunch.....

FOOD PORN WARNING

Crispy (deep fried) Brie wedges

Roast Turkey with all the trimmings

Eton mess

Cannot wait !!!! And I am going to enjoy every last mouthful!!!!

However, just did a cheeky weigh in at home before my shower. Sat am I was 10st 2lbs, first thing in the morning. Tonight, at the end of the day and literally straight after my dinner of salmon and rice risotto, I was 10st 2.5lbs. Now experience tells me that I usually weigh in a couple of lbs lighter in the morning, so this has given me massive incentive to try and get to 10 st before Christmas!! So, I will enjoy my meal tomorrow, then I will be back on track til Christmas Day....promise...!!!

Lucky xxx

P.S. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow. Thanks for your support.

BigTillyMincepie · 20/12/2010 20:45

.....Can't wait...... Grin

vnmum · 20/12/2010 20:48

hmc I am moving due to DH work. I have been down to the area to look around schools and it does seem nice, it's just abit daunting moving so far and not knowing anyone and I know DH will be going away with work quite alot when we move so I will be on my own. But it will be a good opportunity to get plenty of exercise in so he see's a difference when he gets back

littlefish My meetings finished last week till 6th Jan so I am just weighing at home on my WI days as my scales are only about 1/2lb different from WW ones and i'm tracking my weight online

androbbob · 20/12/2010 21:23

vnmum - yes you are right for my location! I did used to go the the Total Fitmess gym - both at the full price and then on a medical membership which was £26 a month. When they opened the new council Leisure Centre near Morrisons I then moved there as I got a corporate deal through work for £19! At that time the kids could go swimming for free but that stopped in the summer! Funnily enough I was born in Darlington and then lived just outside of Durham before we moved down here when I was 11 - small world! The class that is on next week (Tues) is the one at Kensington House L31. I will double check with the leader when I go to class on Wednesday.

I made a lovely big pan of tomato soup today - got some cheap tomatoes from the reduced aisle and made this James Martin Tomato soup - took 15 minutes to make. I omitted the oil and the cream and it was still delicious - works out at 4 points for the whole lot - it is the stock cube and the sugar that add the points!!

lucky - keep us posted about tomorrow and hope you beat the guy and the 10 stone mark!! Loving the colour of that dress and a bargain too!

justbaout - well done on that little pound!

hmc - take it easy

littlefish - hope you can get to another class to get that loss recorded!

going · 21/12/2010 10:18

Well done on all the losses this week!

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas I love the dress.

Littlefish How are you fiding the xenical tablets? For the first time since taking them I havegone overboard with my fat intake but have really learnt my lesson to never do that again!

I lost 1 lb this week which brings my total to 27lbs for the last 14 weeks. My wii said I had lost 2 lbs but have infact only gone from 14 st 11 to 14 st 10 so must have been at the top of 11 and near the bottom of 10!

BigTillyMincepie · 21/12/2010 17:50

Come on Lucky, how did you get on? Smile

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 21/12/2010 18:07

Sorry guys, only just in from work:

Me:

Start weight - 11st 4.5lbs (72kg) 26.9% body fat (19.4kg pure fat!)

End weight - 10st 4lbs (65.2kg) 22.7% body fat (14.8kg fat)

Overall - 9.4% of initial start weight lost.

Him:

Start weight - 15st 9lbs (99.2kg) 24.3% fat (24.1 kg)

End weight - 15 st 4 lbs (97.8kg) 24.1% fat, (23.7kg)

Overall - 1.4% of initial body weight lost.

I WIN I WIN I WIN !!!!!!

What was even more rewarding, was all the girls at work then wanted to do their weight and percentage body fat, and out of everyone at work, including the little waifs who weigh 55kg, I had the lowest % body fat!!!!!

Very very very happy Grin.

Fantastic Lucky Grin Grin Grin

How did you work out the % body fat?

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 21/12/2010 19:41

we have one of these, which I can highly recommend and I think is well worth the money.

muffinchops · 21/12/2010 20:02

woooohhhhooooo Lucky - how bloody satisfying. Well done that lady and you lost a whole stone to his 5lbs. Absolutely storming. Hope he congratulated you graciously and then slunk off into a corner after all the braying he has been doing.

By the way, you mentioned you were in Herts - I'm in Herts too.

Haven't been on for a while due to Christmas mania and that fact that it wouldn't happen without me to think about it, organise it, deliver it etc!!!!

So great to read about you shrinking ladies and the thrill of new smaller clothes sizes. Things that I was previously busting out of are now alot looser and soooooo great to see those collar bones emerging again!

Norma - hope you've drawn a line under the digestive biccies incident (just think of me and the choc orange). Keep strong and look how far you've come.

Was gutted to find my meeting not happening this morning. There was no notification at all and I had dragged my 3 dc out in the snow so I could get that final WI before xmas. Will have to do it myself tomorrow morning.

Everyone braced for Xmas? The idea of next weekend is making me really focus on the points this week and not dip into the weekly allowance so that it is there to dive into at the weekend.

Thought for the day - perhaps the big freeze will help rev up our metabolisms through shivering!?

androbbob · 21/12/2010 21:27

Welllllll dooooonnnnneeeee lucky - just shows what a little hard work does! Did you enjoy your meal out?

muffin I too am a little gutted that my meeting is not on tomorrow - I texted my leader earlier and she said it was closed due to the roads. Well I drive past the venue on the way to work and it is ok! I reckon it is because it is a smaller meeting and she probably wont get the numbers! There is another meeting closer to home tomorrow that is a larger one so I am hoping that is on! Quite sad really that I feel the need to get to a WI before christmas! I have had a hard week and tried well and think I have lost. The only other way is to go to the local Boots and get a print out there and hope it is lower than my last WI! Ok I am sad!

Norma where are you - hope you are well and just bogged down with the preparations for Christmas!

going - a good loss at this time of year!

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 21/12/2010 21:48

muffinchops I am North Herts, what about you?

Thanks for the congrats ladies?

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 21/12/2010 21:49

!!, Not ??

vnmum · 21/12/2010 21:53

well done lucky on winning the work WI

muffin i know what you mean about the thrill of seeing collar bones, mine are just visible and it's the one sign i have that i am getting there

androbbob · 22/12/2010 13:24

Okay so I trogged out to the class that was supposed to be on this morning and got there to find it was closed. So I am giving up for this week. I know I have lost 1lb so I declare that! I have weighed on my scales and taken a photo on my phone of the result just in case there is no class next week. I am going to email WW subscriptions as I have paid for a class that was not on and there was no alternative class available. If I have been paying weekly then there would have been nothing to pay. So I am £5 down on my monthly pass. It is worth a try anyway! Will let you know how I get on.

Will be staying on track this week right upto Friday evening - staying within my points, then I am assuming that I will use all my 49 extra points on Christmas Day. Boxing Day is not a big event in this house and DH is back to work on the Monday, so will be back on the waggon by then! There is supposed to be a class on Tuesday but I am assuming it wont be on unless all this snow goes. I have options for Wed and Thurs morning locally as well - otherwise WW will owe me more money!!

Keep digging in Ladies!

vnmum · 22/12/2010 13:41

androbbob thats dissapointing and annoying about your class but well done on the 1lb loss.

I am also monthly pass and have just resigned myself that i am paying alot for esource this month seen as my leader cancelled her classes for so long unless i can find one that is open elsewhere at a time suitable. I could have cancelled my monthly pass for a month but thought that was actually more hassle than it was worth as i track online etc and would have lost that.

my points get reset on thursday so i will be tracking and using my weekly over christmas day and boxing day. we haven't got nibbles or anything in so i should be ok.

I did a run and 20 min zumba this morning and earned myself 8 activity points. now i've started exercising again i am determined to keep it up over the next few days even if it is only 20 mins on christmas eve and boxing day
