Weightwatchers ProPoints Plan

1000 replies

squashedfrogs · 08/11/2010 22:14

I've been following WW online for a few years on and off and today my account has changed to the new ProPoints plan. I haven't yet looked into this properly but was wondering if anyone else knew much about it?

I know there is another thread where someone (sorry can't remember who) was testing the new plan, has it been easy to follow & does it work?

gingernutlover enjoy your pizza Grin. I would do as you suggested yourself, and stick to lean meats and salad bits, they often have raw veg and dips, so eat the raw veg but not the dips!! And, as you said, stay away from bread and pastry.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 11/12/2010 12:51

Thanks muffinchops. I hate to go onm but I knwo you lot of all people will understand, but it did feel amazing. People just kept coming up to me who I hadn't seen for months ans saying how slim I had got and how much weight I had lost. I'm only telling you all, nit to rub it in (please don't think that) but to hopefully inspire you all to keep going. There is nothing better than getting those compliments. as they say, nothing tastes as good as being slim!!!

Good on you for pointing your choc orange. I've been doing the same, if I slip up, I used to just think 'oh sod it' and go all out. But now I stop and point it all, then if I get annoyed with myself for eating too many pps, it stops me from doing the same next time. I think you're right o point it, cos if you didn't, you may well do it again in future. This way, you'll remember how pants you felt after eating it and you won't do it again!! WELL DONE!!!

Off to Pizza Exp later, I have planned what I can have. Tomorrow we are having a family Christmas party and getting Dominoes pizzas in, but I have got myself a WW pizza. Must stay on track...must stay on track!!!

Have a great weekend all of you.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 11/12/2010 12:54

excuse all the typos!!!

boodleboot · 11/12/2010 13:53

ok well WI was suprising...i lost 1.5lb! thats a relief! im going to really get back on esource this week and also make some no point soup so i always got something to hand for when i hungry. lost 8lb now and got my first shiney 7 today which was nice. going to go easy this wk and not use my treaty points as had three course meal last nite that wouldnt have shown up on this wks weigh in....

i hear u all about the senseless carby picking, i was doing that too last wk....we must all have our cycles in sync ha! lets all knuckle down for the next two wks so this time in a fortnight we can let our hair down and enjoy our crimbo food!!

they had selection treat boxes at my meeting today with ten treats for 2 points each but i reckon i will stick to proper chocs...what are we pointing a single dibble in the quality street tin do u reckon norma? a point a sweet?

vnmum · 12/12/2010 13:46

hi all,

well my function went well on friday,i think i probably over pointed the meal as i didn't get as much as i thought and they even offered me cheesecake instead of xmas pud, i did have to think about it but i very proudly declined. at first i thought mmm yeah, then i immediately thought how many points it would be and said no as i didn't actually need it.

I did have a bit too much to drink though Xmas Blush but i pointed it all. It did mean that when i managed to drag myself out of bed yesterday the only thing i wanted was a bigmac then chippy chips for tea although couldn't eat that much of the chips. So i may have gone slightly over points with all the hangover crap i ate but i am back on track today.

Glad you had a nice time Lucky and that you got lots of compliments, and i don't think you are rubbing it in, it is inspiring to see that it can be done and the goal can be achieved

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 12/12/2010 21:05

Just popping my head in.

Feeling much better now ive stopped the meds early. I know I shouldnt stop them but they were making me rough. My DH looked them up online and found they were closely related to opium. Opium ffs! DH is now taking the piss out of me saying ive been tripping for 5 days! Charming!

Why anyone does drugs I dont know. Horrible feeling!

Anyhoo, im hoping to make it to WI tomorrow evening. Im thinking DH may actually have to take me and stay with me as I dont think I should be left by myself. Should be fun Hmm

I must have lost weight. Ive only eaten 3 very small meals since tuesday evening (although 1 of the side affects of the meds is loss of appitite)

Will check in then Smile

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 12/12/2010 22:59

Quiet weekend here on the thread?!

I had a great time at Faithless. Had 3 courses at Pizza Express...all pointed. I was then a bit naughty and had a big bag of fruit pastilles during the gig. I did do a lot of walking around London and up and down stairs on tubes...Grin.

Had a family party at our house today. We ordered in Dominoes, and I had a WW pizza, 12pps. I made a big fruit salad for pud. 3 of my extended family are doing SW so were pleased with the fruit salad!

I don't think I'll have lost this week. I haven't been able to exercise all week due to tonsilitis. I have only gone about 15 pps over points, but I do find the exercise makes a big difference for me.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Lucky x

NormaSknockers · 13/12/2010 11:27

Happy Monday everyone, good weekends?

How was your meal/party ginger?

Lucky glad you enjoyed the concert and well done on pointing everything and getting yourself a WW pizza in, very well done for that! Don't worry too much about the fruit pastilles, I'm sure the walking will have helped Xmas Wink

Boodle well done on another brilliant loss and on your first Silver Seven even better news! Yes Quality Street work out to be a point each so does 1 segment of a chocolate orange, have to admit I didn't think it wa worth buying the WW treat boxes as I'd rather have 1 QS sweets or 2 pieces of a choc orange Xmas Grin

Glad you enjoyed your party vnmum well done on declining the cheesecake, not an easy task when it's waved in your face Xmas Smile

Glad you're starting to feel better InLove keep resting and taking it easy though!

WI tonight, not overly hopefuly as my IBS has been bad this week and that always makes such a difference to my weight - shall wait and see!

Hope everyone's having a good day?

hmc · 13/12/2010 13:46

Good luck with your weigh in tonight NormaS

Boodleboot - I bought one of those weightwatchers selection boxes, the thing is if I dip into the ordinary chocs that the rest of the family are having I won't be able to stop at one or two!

I've emerged after dh's christmas do on Friday night and a twilight spa session plus overnight stay with friends (Saturday) seemingly significantly lighter ( how ?!?) I was very careful with food but I didn't skimp on the wine. Official weigh in on Wednesday but touch wood it looks like it might be a big one!

hmc · 13/12/2010 13:47

Meant to say ILove - glad that you are gradually getting better

going · 13/12/2010 16:22

Hi,

WOndered if I could join you.

I started dieting seriously 12 weeks ago and have had some good loses but at last weeks weigh in, at home on my wii, I gained 2 lbs. I was not happy so decided to start ww AGAIN. I bought the calculator and have stuck to my 33 points per day since Thursday - am hoping to have lost when I weigh tommorow.

Is the propoints plan more/less/the same as the old discover plan?

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 13/12/2010 20:08

WI tomorrow - not hopeful as haven't been able to exercise all week.

Just had a mouthful of dinner and then was sick again Hmm. So have ended up eating 8 jacobs cream crackers for dinner as was hungry but didn't want to be sick again.

And before you ask, I most def am not pregnant....DH has been snipped Wink.

DH has just looked at side effects of my Anti-biotics....nausea and vomitting....and a black hairy tongue .....Maybe The Gruffalo is on Penecillin? Grin

NormaSknockers · 13/12/2010 21:07

Evening everyone,

Poor you Lucky hope you're feeling better soon, some rotten bugs going about Xmas Sad

Hello and welcome going we're a lovely, supportive thread so get stuck in. Good lucj for weigh in Xmas Smile

I'm so relieved as I lost 0.5lb this week, it's better then staying the same so I'm happy with that! One more weigh in before Christmas and I'm hoping for 1.5lbs off if poss!

androbbob · 13/12/2010 21:28

Just a quick pop-in - busy old week here so not much pc time in the evenings!

Well done norma on the loss - big push for the last week and it will pay off!

Would someone witty think of a new thread title as this one is too large for my poor little phone to upload!! I am too tired to think! Time of the Month started today as well so hopefully the picking will stop! Shouldnt have made mince pies with the kids on Saturday either!

NormaSknockers · 13/12/2010 21:59

We need to fill the thread really androbb as there's another 7 pages to go 'til it's full & we might end up with two threads running & people not being sure which one to post on Xmas Grin

BigTillyMincepie · 14/12/2010 06:11

Morning!

I lost 0.5lb at my weigh-in last night too - now back to my goal weight!

Now the real test is how little can I gain over Christmas?! I read somewhere that the average weight gain over Christmas is usually about 2lb. I think I usually gain my families share myself Blush

Thanks for the welcome Norma

I have lost 4 lbs this week so my 2 lbs gain last week doesn't seem so awful now! Am writing off today food wise as am going to a works christmas party tonight. Will get back into the swing of things tommorow!

NormaSknockers · 14/12/2010 13:06

Well done Tilly brilliant to be back at your goal weight! Can you plan your Christmas or do you not want to track?

Excellent loss yet again justabout slowly but surely is the way! Sorry to hear about DS2, hope he's better now?

Brilliant loss going well done try not to write today off though, that's when it gets tricky as you'll spend the rest of the week trying to make up for it. You have your 49 weekly so even if you used all of those tonight you can still stay on track.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 14/12/2010 13:27

Morning all,

Very pleased as went to WI this morning and I had lost 1 lb! Very pleased as I was ill last week so did no exercise but had 4 challenging meals out. Really going for it this week now, to get to 10 stone before Christmas. That would mean a 3 lb loss next week so I have to go for it.

Not sure if I told you all or not, but I work with a guy who, at the beginning of the year, challenged me to a weight loss competition from Jan-April. I won Grin by a long way. He didn't even try Hmm. Anyway, he got so much grief for it at work (he is very arrogant). In August he challenged me to a re-match, from Aug til Christmas. I accepted as it's so public at work, it's really good motivation for me. He has def tried harder this time, even joined the same gym as me (Grrr!). Anyway, the final weigh in for our competition is 21st Dec, a week today!!!!!!! The girls at work think I've got it in the bag, but I'm not sure, so I have extra motivation this week. If I beat him twice, he will never live it down. He also has to pay for my food on a dept meal out as my prize!!

Everyone seems to be having good losses despite Christmas. Well done everyine and welcome Going.

Lucky XXX

hmc · 14/12/2010 16:41

Welcome Going - this is a good thread, I've only been posting 3-4 weeks myself but feel right at home (for which Norma deserves a lot of credit). Well done on your 4lbs this week.

Great weight losses Norma and BigTilly - aren't we a successful lot!

Justabout - hope ds2 is on the mend?

...and we are all behind you WeWishYou with your office weight loss face off! Hope you knock him dead!

Not much eventful here. Still plodding on- 3 mile run on the treadmill today (too cold for the real thing) and careful tracking of propoints. Had time for a 6 propoint cooked breakfast this morning which was mighty satisfying, and am having a Ainsley Harriot recipe - Chiang Mai Thai mince for dinner (mouth watering and now in danger of slobbering over keyboard)

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 14/12/2010 20:22

Just back from Pizza Hut - yeuch! Had to go for SIL's b'day. Took my eating out guide and chose a chicken and bacon salad. The chicken was covered in batter in the salad Hmm. It was as if they had run out so just thrown some chicken dippers on (double yeuch!). It was really salty too. Not enjoyable and so not worth the pps! I don't mind eating out when the food is worth the calories if you know what I mean!!
SIL had the hot cookie dough thing for dessert. I looked out of interest in my book and it was 27pps!!! No dessert for me.

hmc thanks for the support. I saw my nemesis at the gym earlier. My Dd1 had her swimming lesson so I was in the pool with DD2. He was heading into the sauna. We both did a not very subtle quick look up and down to check out the competition!!!! Blush.
We work as Physiotherapists so kind of expected to portray a good image of health and fitness Grin.

Any WI's tomorrow ladies?

Littlefish · 14/12/2010 21:17

YaaaaaHooooooo. Just got back from weighing in. Having been convinced that I wouldn't lose anything, I actually lost 4lbs!! Grin Grin Grin

That's 24.5lbs in 11 weeks. I've still got about 6 stone to go though, so I'm going to go and see my GP tomorrow to see whether she will prescribe me Orlistat to help keep my weight loss going.

Well done everyone on their weightloss. Let's keep it going ladies.

wewishyoualuckychristmas - sorry your meal out was horrid. It know what you mean about food needing to be worth the calories!

Re. Christmas - I'm going to try really hard to stay the same. It will take a huge amount of will power as I'm going out to dinner on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, hosting a party at home on Christmas Eve and then have family here on Christmas day. Oh well, I can only try.

muffinchops · 14/12/2010 21:22

Hello ladies,

Great to see more losses.

Welcome going - I only joined recently and have found this to be a lovely supportive thread.

Lucky - wow 10st by Xmas - you are sooooo close. That is my ultimate dream weight as that was my weight on my wedding day and I am now 12years (ouch) and 3 kids down the line the last one being almost 1yr.

How much have you lost in total on WW? I need to lose just over 2 stone now to get there.

Hope you win the competition - that would be the icing on the cake (mmmm probably not a good point of reference given the thread) wouldn't it? You go girl and let us know the results.

Well I have to report that after my chocolate orange horror of last week, the supportive words of you good ladies and some very careful re-focussing I managed to lose 2 lbs this week!!! Yaaaaay. That's 11 lbs in 5 weeks.

I also professed undying love to the Ocado man who even commented on my weight loss (pathetic I know)Xmas Blush

Anyway ladies - keep the faith - we can do it! Xmas Grin

vnmum · 15/12/2010 10:12

Hi everyone,

well done Littlefish on that 4lb loss.
Lucky 10st is my goal weight i have set with my leader. i actually want to lose about a stone more than that but 10 is the top of my healthy BMI and then i can stop paying for classes while losing the rest.

Seen as I have no meeting now till 6th Jan I did a WI today instead of tomorrow at home and have put on 1 lb. I am ok with it as my first aim was to lose weight for my function i had on friday and since thats been and gone i've not really been too fussed about sticking to it this week so a 1lb gain isn't too bad.

I am refocusing though next week, my points are reset on thursdays so I am just tracking from now on.

As for christmas, I am thinking i will track it as last year i felt so dissappointed when i had put on 7lb over the festive season and don't want that to happen again. i will have my 49 and i don't really drink and we don't usually have lots of nibbles etc in so i should be ok.

I really need to start running again but i can't seem to get rid of the gunk off my chest so might have to try zumba and see how i manage.

anyway i've prattled on long enough now, good luck to anyone with WI's today
