February 2026 starters - thread 2

A new thread for those starting WLI in Feb 2026.
Most of us are on roughly month 5 - how is everyone getting on?

Open to any newcomers too, who may have missed the boat on the first thread!

@Rosetime lovely to hear the positive comment. Did they know you were on WLI?

Friday jab and weigh in for me, and I'm happy to say 1.5kg down this week, so the 3 stone total loss stuck. I worked out that's more than my 6 year old weighs. I guess my next goal could be the weight of my 8 year old? So I will now be switching goals between metric/imperial/offspring. 😂

SW 122.7 kg (19 st 4 lb)
CW 102.9 kg (16 st 3 lb)

BMI is now under 38, down from 45.1.

I use a cheap set of body composition scales from Amazon, I think they were less than £10? Agree that I don't put much faith in the individual measurements, but the trends are really positive. I occasionally jump on our old mechanical scales, and they seem to agree. Frustratingly my 'metabolic age' hasn't budged from 10 years over my true age, so I will be very happy when that finally moves.

soupmaker · 13/06/2026 08:05

@Crossfitgirl I can really see the difference. I need a belt now when wearing jeans and when I put my gym gear on I look so much slimmer than the start of the year.

Saturnista · 13/06/2026 13:52

Hello everyone, hopefully the weather will improve a bit this weekend, getting very fed up with torrential rain in the Midlands!

Thanks for the feedback on scales and weights from people, much appreciated.

I’m sat here typing in size 14 jeans and I’m flabbergasted. Gone from an 18 to 14 in the same Seasalt style so whilst I know they size generously, I am damn well taking it. Feels bloody wonderful. I’m also prepping for holiday to Madeira on Thursday as my step-Mum’s op hasn’t been scheduled yet but other family are supporting the pre-op whilst we are away. It’s been tricky as all things with family always are. My DP retired yesterday and I can’t wait to spend time with him on our own whilst my lovely daughters party at home🙄.
I’m still on 3mg and losing around a lb a week, I may move up to 3.5mg in a couple of weeks but feeling positive.

How is everyone doing?

Cookiedough123 · 15/06/2026 09:47

Good morning! Nice to see so many people are having great losses! I’m still losing around 1-2lb a week. I have a bad tummy around 48h post jab but then it sorts itself out. I am so close to being in the 11st bracket. When I got pregnant in 2024 the lowest weight I got to was 12st 4, I weigh 12st 1 currently which I haven’t been since 2019!! My goal weight is 11st 7 which again I haven’t seen for a long time! Really worried about coming off the jabs as I am a massive binge eater but I’m hoping I will keep it off if I keep up with running and smaller portions/less meals. Hope everyone has a good week!

Crossfitgirl · 15/06/2026 09:58

I'm also worried about coming off, as I've just gone up a dose but want to stop in a month!
I also tend to get a bad tummy and mild nausea, which I have got now. I'm finding immodium and tiny meals helps manage it.
I have a patient visit tomorrow at work in the morning which is going to be peak side effect time... I plan to take an immodium in advance rather than waiting for the tummy upset... Think this will be ok? I don't want to have to use the loo there as it's a complaint I'm sorting out and it's someone I've never met!

Finally started losing again, probably because I've barely eaten! I'm exhausted though so need to get more sleep so I can exercise. Hayfever is absolutely not helping how I feel right now either!

Week 18. Scales at 12.11. I didn’t inject last week after taking advice from MedExpress so wasn’t expecting any loss. Not sure if it’s just a hangover from the bug. Despite feeling rubbish I ate sensibly and managed a couple of runs and a visit to the gym so that’ll have helped. IPeople are now commenting on my weight loss as I definitely look much slimmer round the middle, still plenty of flabby and now more wrinkly bits but they are getting smaller. I’ll never have a flat tummy, I’ve got natural rib flare, got sliced open to remove an ovarian cyst 20 years ago and had 2 DC, but I like to think there is the potential for a six pack underneath 😂

Loving the switching between imperial and metric to see small changes and set new goals @RedApplePie that’s genius!

Hope things are settling for you @Crossfitgirl

Week 19. Scales at 12.11. No loss this week. But still a win as no gain. Been a bit of a mad week due to lots of evenings out, staying up to watch football 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, and too much pasta! On the upside the running is going well, ran 5k in the quickest I’ve ever done it, better than when I was in my 30s and hit 9k on my long run. Back to loving it.

Hope everyone else doing well.

Castlebark · 19/06/2026 10:10

@soupmaker that sounds like a really positive week. 😊

Friday, weigh in day for me.

SW 122.7 kg (19 st 4 lb)
CW 102.3 kg (16 st 2 lb)

Only 0.6kg down this week, but still the right direction.

I'm feeling a lot more hunger now by day 6/7, and the snacking has escalated to things like a chocolate biscuit some days, which is a slippery slope. I'm going to try and stick to 5mg, while I keep losing. But I can see me having to go up to 7.5mg soon. Which I was really hoping to avoid!

Saturnista · 20/06/2026 13:07

Hello from Madeira! It’s slightly cooler than the UK but there’s no need to work, herd teenagers or cook for anyone so very relaxing. It’s 6 months since last abroad and all I can think of is how enormous I was last time I was in a swimsuit on holiday. I’m nearly 2 stone lighter but as there are mirrors everywhere (or so it feels) I’m just amazed that I’m so very fat (still). On a positive note I’ve found that being away on a B&B basis in a v good 4 star is easy peasy on WLI for me. I’m still able to guzzle a 2/3 course healthy protein loaded breakfast that lasts me until 2/3 o’clock and then o just share 1/4 or 1/3 of what my DP is eating either in a restaurant or a snack. The alcohol is b tempting but I’ve fallen asleep twice already after a beer, admittedly after a 15k step walk both times, so either the local brew is strong or my tolerance is v low. Guzzling water like a demon and as I do at home so only annoying that have to have more loo breaks when sunbathing. Quite impressed that WLI aren’t affecting our usual holiday style and I’m far less sweaty when hiking and don’t need to wring my clothes out at the end of a day.

Notellinganyone · 24/06/2026 11:35

Thanks @Crossfitgirl for alerting me to the new thread and great to hear everyone’s progress. I started on 12 th Feb at 12 stone 5 ( I’m 5 ft 2) and am now 10 stone 8. I feel so much better. I’ve stayed on 2.5 Mounjaro - have considered moving up but think I’ll keep on 2.5 unless I stall completely. I still feel hungry but somehow the MJ means I can keep a lid on it. I’m planning to lose another stone and stop at that as I’m 59 and think I’ll look odd if I get too thin. That takes me into a BMI of 24. I’ve been absolutely crap on the strength training though - have done nothing so that’s my next challenge. Have just bought a new bikini though!

Rosetime · 24/06/2026 17:11

I totally forgot we had a new thread (and I had even posted on it!).
Thanks @Castlebark for hopping on the old thread and drawing attention to here.

Crossfitgirl · 24/06/2026 23:06

Haha I replied on the old thread too! Didn't even realise and I bloody made the threads! 😂

I have finally shifted another couple of lbs, so I'm very close to target now and I plan to come off after this month. Maybe I should titrate down again but i don't think I can justify the cost. Ive no idea how I'm going to maintain. I'm desperate not to gain weight again as it's been a slog, but I feel like I've been pretty rubbish at instilling new habits, other than eating smaller portions. My sugar cravings haven't ever really stopped - and maybe that's a good thing tbh, as that won't be a big change when I come off

I am actually inadvertently taking a week off, because I'm a few days late with my jab (forgot, too tired, etc) so rather than change my day to mid week, I'm just going to hold off and resume at the weekend like usual. I hope it doesn't increase side effects too much! I haven't noticed much of a change in hunger, which is positive!

I’m back to gaining and losing the same two pounds but I’ve had a bug and have been totally miserable with hay fever and hives so I’m convincing myself it’s fluid retention and that one day very soon I will have a whoosh. I’m pretty much exactly half way there - 2 stone down, two to go. I know I have entered that risky place of not being so committed because I look and feel better.

soupmaker · 25/06/2026 07:17

Week 20. Scales are saying 12.8. I’m slightly bemused as I feel I’ve had a not so good week. The negatives have been too much snacking and a finding my sweet tooth has made a bit of reappearance. Two nights in a row I’ve had a mini magnum after my tea! But I need to put all that into perspective, I’m still eating way less and portion size feels under control, I’m full of protein and veg, I’m drinking plenty water and I ran my first 10k in years. I’m now a very comfortable size 16 and only half a stone overweight. Damn my apple shape though as I still have a lot of belly!

Your holiday sounds great @Saturnista I’m so looking forward to a week of not having to cook! I’m buying bikinis too @Notellinganyone as the size 20 ones I had on last year are obscenely too big!

Rosetime · 25/06/2026 07:39

That's great @soupmaker ! Well done on your 10K!! I am not brave enough yet to buy bikinis ...but one day. Love that your previous ones are obscenely too big. Made me smile.

@RedApplePie , i am suffering with horrible hayfever too. It's been a bit better yesterday tbf but it's caused me to retain fluid so the last two weeks my weight loss hasn't been visible on the scale but I am sure fat loss is happening underneath. I have been keeping to my calories limit, walking not less than 10K steps a day and strength training when i can (which has been VERY little). Hayfever makes me feel run down.
You will get your whoosh once the hayfever inflammation thing settles down. I empathise.

Castlebark · 26/06/2026 10:55

Weigh in day for me - my first gain. Only 100g up from last week, but still disappointing. I'm really hoping it's heat related. Although I did have a cider last night, and several ice creams over the last few days! I'd also miss a meal due to the heat, but then be extra hungry later so probably snacking more than normal.

I do weigh daily, so I'm hoping for a woosh over the next few days as I get back into the normal routine.

I hope everyone else is surviving the heat!

Saturnista · 26/06/2026 11:58

Hi all, was v weird landing at Birmingham airport at 1 am this morning to a wall of 28 degree heat….bonkers!
@Castlebark please don’t fret about 100g to be fair it’s teeny tiny and am sure the heat is to blame as it must be messing with all of our metabolisms. Here’s hoping for a whoosh next week.

@soupmaker 10k is seriously impressive, well done!

@Rosetime and @RedApplePie sorry to hear about the hayfever, it’s rough, isn’t it. Does anything help at all? My aids are daily cetrizine for 7 months of the year and I wash my face every couple of hours with cold water and wear no make up. Not pretty but it does help a bit.

@Crossfitgirl so pleased that you’re really close to goal, really well done and hope you continue on the thread to share your maintenance experience.

I’ve had a massive gain of 4.75 lbs this week whilst on holiday. I did drink alcohol and have bread every day and had leave a 9 day jab gap due to flight delays. Still a bit depressing and I’m hoping I can get back on track with Week 5 of 3mg, I think I may well sweat it off cleaning the house after the teens’ party week!

RedApplePie · 27/06/2026 11:38

Finally had my well overdue whoosh and lost a kilo. My shoes also fit me again this morning and my rings are no longer stuck on my finger. 🎉

Rosetime · 27/06/2026 15:11

That's great @RedApplePie . It gives a great feeling when the whoosh happens. Well done!

I weigh on sundays. Hoping for a whoosh but it's unlikely...i have been so hot, feeling bloated, undereating and still not drinking enough.

soupmaker · 27/06/2026 22:17

Hurray @RedApplePie I’ve noticed my rings are loose and birling a bit. Glad you’ve had a good result.

Saturnista · Today 07:14

Quick question - has anyone taken a jab 2 days early to get back into a previous routine? I used to jab on a Wednesday but because of our recent holiday flights delays couldn’t jab until Friday. Presume I’d get a little more in my system but it’s only supposed to table a 5 day life anyhow, isn’t it?
