What are you doing this week that you couldn’t do before you started using WLI?

As an antidote to the endless barrage of anti-WLI threads on MN, a thread to share how your life has changed since being on WLI (whether you are still losing weight, maintaining or have reached your goal and stopped using them).

Things I’m doing this week that I wouldn’t have been able to do before I lost 5 stone with WLI

  • spend hours working in my garden enjoying the lovely weather without feeling too exhausted to continue
  • being able to squat down in the garden (and then get back up again 😊)
  • looking forward to choosing which of my lovely clothes to wear for a day out and going out enjoying looking nice

Spending more money on things I really enjoy, instead of spending it on food I really don't need.

Glancing at myself in a mirror and not instantly hating how I look.

Feeling more energised during the day, resulting in getting more cleaning done and doing more activities with the kids.

Not feeling like I've ran a marathon after walking the dog.

I’d not thought about this, but you are so right. Although my clothes & make up spends have gone up a lot Grin

Me too! Vinted has become a problem! I LOVE buying brands I've always wanted to wear (Scamp and Dude, Sugarhill Brighton, Lucy and Yak)

I have lost over 5 stone in 18 months. (and my hair)

back then I was miserable, fat, unhealthy, didn’t sleep great, no confidence, didn’t socialise as a result.
I was also in a very dark place and I was having some very dark thoughts as I couldn’t see life getting better.
I also had hair.

I am now a full time wig wearer, embracing different styles and colours . I feel amazing, I am sleeping so much better and my self confidence and self worth has soared. I now take pride in my appearance, loving being able to buy clothes because I like them rather than the necessity of having to cover up in whatever fits. ! I absolutely have a new lease of life and this week, I plan on living it to the full.

Walking, I would happily walk for miles.

I now enjoy clothes shopping instead of just looking for anything in a size that might fit. I am still losing weight so not buying excessively.

I've walked 20,000 steps or 15km a day for the last several days as I'm on holidays in London.

It's not quite what you asked, but my rather large suitcase is 20kg, the same as the amount of weight I've lost. Holy heck, dragging that around behind me getting to & from the airport, and lifting it into and out of cabs has made me realize just how hard my body must have been working to carry that extra weight everywhere I went.

When I lost 15kg I realised that it equals the weight of 10 average chicken I buy for a roast dinner or 60 packs of butter.

Talk about putting things into perspective.

This is great! You literally carried the weight you've lost. Must feel so good.

It’s amazing isn’t it? I recently went for a weekend away and I just felt so relaxed and easy walking around. I realised afterwards it was because I wasn’t lugging so much weight (on me) around. Even just losing another half a stone after reaching my original goal weight has made me feel so different. I feel years younger.
