What are you doing this week that you couldn’t do before you started using WLI?

As an antidote to the endless barrage of anti-WLI threads on MN, a thread to share how your life has changed since being on WLI (whether you are still losing weight, maintaining or have reached your goal and stopped using them).

Things I’m doing this week that I wouldn’t have been able to do before I lost 5 stone with WLI

  • spend hours working in my garden enjoying the lovely weather without feeling too exhausted to continue
  • being able to squat down in the garden (and then get back up again 😊)
  • looking forward to choosing which of my lovely clothes to wear for a day out and going out enjoying looking nice

I didn’t notice my collarbones were missing until they suddenly appeared, @twilightcafe 😂

Same as you now, they’re really noticeable.

I had sex for the first time in years.

Im a widow and I’ve got together with a lovely new man. I still have loads to lose but I’m sure he wouldn’t have fancied me pre Mounjaro.

and I definitely wouldn’t have been getting my kit off at my biggest weight.

This is my favourite one! I am happy for you @TriggersBroom enjoy the sex!

TriggersBroom · 05/05/2026 15:25

Thank you Pearls. I honestly thought I’d never have a relationship again and now I feel like a love struck teenager.

Am 6.5 stone down of which 4.5 are due to mounjaro. But I still need to lose several more stone.

Sloelydoesit · 06/05/2026 23:12

A good one for this week. Cracking on sorting the garden out. Loads of brambles and weed clearing and it's so much easier now then when I weighed loads more! Plus I'm enjoying it more which is great!

Holymolymoo · 06/05/2026 23:29

Reading this makes me want to go on them and experience some of these fabulous wins - thanks so much for sharing your joy!

I tried MJ a couple of years ago and did 3 months with about one stone loss in that time but the most awful sulphur burps so couldn’t go out or be around people!

wondering if I should try wegovy this time? Aged 50, peri meno and not on hrt yet and with 200lbs at 5”5 with a lovely pot belly I’d miss but would like to be get rid of!

BlessicaBlimpson · 07/05/2026 18:38

Bought a new tankini and it looks good! Not dreading having my photo taken on holiday this year.

twilightcafe · 07/05/2026 18:55

This week - wearing a tight vest top with leggings at the gym.

Popcornandbeetroot · 07/05/2026 19:27

Not sweating when it gets above 20c, having a brisk walk to town during my lunch hour, again without breaking into a sweat.
Gardening for several hours without getting tired, wearing wool socks in bed because I’m always a bit chilly. 🥶

daffodilandtulip · 08/05/2026 07:39

Wearing pretty summer clothes. Climbing the inpost locker to collect said pretty clothes from the top shelf.

How was your diet? Things like processed food make the burps a much more prominent side effect. Maybe you could try again but research which food to eat to avoid/reduce it.

Holymolymoo · 08/05/2026 08:24

Thanks @daffodilandtulip, diet was ok, switched to a lot more protein, less UPFs and carbs- not enough water or sleep which is an ongoing issue!

thinking I’ll try Wegovy this time and see how I get kn with that 🤞🏽

TheChosenTwo · 08/05/2026 08:50

Definitely love having no chubby rub so I can wear short pretty dresses on holiday and walk for miles - have a thigh gap - didn’t even realise this was a thing unless you were severely underweight (which I’m not).
And agree with being able to be choosy about what clothes I buy, because there just IS so much choice when you’re not trying to blend in and cover everything up.
Down from 16st to 9st and I owe it all to MJ. I’ve had a very easy time losing the weight tbh, I know others really suffer and struggle with side effects but other than 2 sulphur burps one morning, a bit of constipation which I’ve always had a tendency to suffer with and some hair loss I’ve been absolutely fine.
I’ve tried so many different exercises which I lacked the confidence for before, my world has opened up massively.
Love going out to eat and not feeling self conscious. My life just feels so much easier now.

Therealmetherealme · 08/05/2026 08:52

Tie my shoe laces comfortably. Look at buying a sleeveless top!

TheChosenTwo · 08/05/2026 09:02

Erm, chub rub! Although chubby rub still makes sense 😂

HeidiLite · 08/05/2026 09:05

We've discussed it on my WLI starters thread, but being choosy with clothes is getting a bit extreme for me.
First it was - well, this item fits and is sort of slimming, so home it comes.
Then I went all mad, because suddenly all clothes were so flattering and slimming.
But soon realised it's not the clothes that are all suddenly so fabulous - it's being slim. I can wear whatever and still won't look like a manatee. So now I can't find anything I like any more - because just looking OK is not my standard any more. Does that make sense?

PearlsTeapot · 08/05/2026 09:14

Can actually see my nunny to shave it 😂

lemoncrisp · 08/05/2026 09:21

Enjoyed walking the Seven Sisters yesterday (and could have kept going another hour or more).
Loving gardening and not getting exhausted.
Not spending as much on clothing as everything looks good at size 8/10 so I'm not desperately grabbing new stuff to try and look better.

Yes! that's what I meant. Always desperately seeking those magical garments that are flattering and hiding the girth.

reluctantbrit · 08/05/2026 11:47

I would love to know that the chub rub will go but I am unfortunately one of those women who will still get if regardless of my weight and size.

I had them as a teen and also when I was a comfortable size 10 and they are a reason I don't do dresses in Summer a lot.

But I look forward to nice loose Summer trousers and shorts instead of dreading going to the shops and finding something which fits.

twilightcafe · 15/05/2026 15:40

Got my original wedding ring back on!

HeidiLite · 15/05/2026 17:25

@reluctantbrit I thought the same but am smaller than 10 now and finally, no rubbing!

Got my original wedding ring back on!

This was my first weight loss goal, I didn't have numbers I just had this. Took me 4 stone and felt amazing. It makes me happy every time I see my hand after 5 years not wearing it. Hope yours brings you joy too.

wendywoopywoo222 · 15/05/2026 21:42

This week I went on an aeroplane and didn’t worry what the person next to me would think. In fact I had a spare seat next to me 😁
put a towel round after I had been swimming and it covered me and tucked in. And first time ever can swan around in a hotel dressing how’s that fits.

little thinks lots of people have never had to think about. .
