Well done, @ConfusedMiddleAger83 !

It’s my anniversary today.
SW 19 stone 4 lbs
CW 12 stone 2 lbs

It’s like being a different person. Just one example - I went out the other night and didn’t have to worry about fitting in the chair in the restaurant , or fitting up the narrow staircase to where the table was. I didn’t spend all evening with a nagging inner voice telling me everyone was thinking how fat I am. I didn’t need to ask DH for reassurance that I looked ok. Plus, although I still love drinking wine I no longer need to drink it when I’m out to give me confidence, so we took the car and I drove us home; no waiting around for an expensive taxi.

Thank you to all on this thread who have, whether you realised it or not, kept me going this year. I love reading what everyone is doing and how things are going. Onwards and downwards!

Gingercar · 11/05/2026 11:01

Congratulations @DBatteryBand !👏👏👏👏

I, however am still stuck on my plateau! Week 6. 🙁. My phone says I’ve doubled my steps over the past six weeks, I’ve drunk more water, I’ve counted calories (usually don’t). There is no reason for it. It’s very frustrating! But I’m staying firm. I feel good. My stomach is flat, my waist is back. I’ve only a little covering of fat everywhere, whereas I had rolls. I feel fitter. I’m can walk up steep hills without stopping. I can run. People are commenting all the time now. I bumped into someone I’d not seen for a few months and they didn’t recognise me for a moment. So it’s just the numbers on the scale not showing progress. I have another ten days to my anniversary. I’d liked to have had more numerical progress. But the big picture is fabulous and I’m staying on this wagon!
I just took the golden dose on my 12.5 pen (three days late again, I’m always forgetting). I’ve got a 15 and a 2.5 left. I will probably titrate down with the 15.

MyScaredCat · 11/05/2026 11:58

@Gingercar any chance you need to invest in new scales?

Gingercar · 11/05/2026 12:24

Sadly not. I did and I’m heavier on the new ones! And I’ve inherited my dad’s scales too. Sometimes I think I should ditch all of them!

SutekhsEars · 11/05/2026 12:56

I think it's because you're building so much muscle, @Gingercar . If you feel smaller but your weight has plateaued, you must be fitter! Have you been measuring your waist etc?

Gingercar · 11/05/2026 16:12

I haven’t for a month or so. I just feel a bit firmer, which isn’t a bad thing. I don’t think I’ve dropped anything size wise. I’ll plod on. I’m not upset. A bit disappointed but hey. I feel quite proud that I’m not spinning off because of it. That’s new to me.

SignedUpAgain · 11/05/2026 20:17

Heading home from my trip to US. Didn’t jab last week and managed the food noise as well as I could.

hopefully didn’t put on any weight.

HKG · 11/05/2026 23:05

Evening all, just popping to say hello. How is everyone today?

@SignedUpAgain i hear you on the plateau and solidarity, positivity and hugs your way! We can but keep keeping on!

@Gingercar I just saw your msg on another board about having a big head which made me laugh as I’ve also got a big head! So much so that I make DH sit half a foot in front of me in all pics to even us out. 😆😆😆

im feeling exhausted today, not able to recover for some reason and this week also lost a lb and already regained it. Argh… I have one more week on 6.25 then heading down to 5 next Sunday. Not looking good for losing anymore weight.

sorry, rambling now…

ElsieJay · 12/05/2026 07:33

Lovely updates from @ConfusedMiddleAger83@DBatteryBand and @HKG .
We tend to focus, quite rightly, on the weight we’ve lost ( 7st 4lbs, @ConfusedMiddleAger83 , you rock !) but very often it’s the little NSVs that are the most rewarding and meaningful.
I can only imagine your frustration perched on that plateau, @Gingercar !
So unfair when you’re doing all the right things too. Maybe put the scales away for a while ? Great that so many customers and old friends are noticing, and complimenting, the hard work you’ve put in, and continue to put in.
Someone once said to me “You only fail when you stop trying “ , and though I’m not one for life-affirming slogans that really stuck with me.

hottubsundays · 12/05/2026 17:37

Hi all 👋 serial lurker here, enjoy seeing everyone’s updates.

SW 15stone
CW 12 stone 4lb

Ive plateaued also since new year maybe have lost 1lb but everyone is telling me that my shape is changing. Have been selling loads on vinted and buying the same clothes but in a size or two smaller 🤪 have been in 7.5 since about November with no side effects really other than this having been the coolest winter/spring in living memory! Took my normal dose on Sunday night and have spent 2 days not eating and with stomach spasms. Trying to understand why? It was a new pen but the same dose was it super charged?! Have started a new job recently but too so have had to sit at my desk feeling queasy 🤢

Apprenante · 13/05/2026 09:59

I wonder if we're all - or at least it seems most of us - cold because of weight loss or because of Mounjaro? I'm only taking 2.5 every 10 days but im still mostly freezing.

I'm knitting a temperature scarf so I notice the temperature every day. Here, it's been between 15 and 20 recently which shouldn't feel so low.

What do you think?

Gingercar · 13/05/2026 13:14

Being cold was one of the bits I was looking forward to when I started MJ (hot flushes normally!) but unfortunately (🤔) I never got any of the side effects, including that one.

hottubsundays · 13/05/2026 14:30

I am cold all the time, doesn’t help that May hasn’t warmed up yet! I know it’s a side effect of the mediation but also we are losing our padding! My husband has lost a lot of weight too (via the gym and changing his eating habits) and he is thrilled that he is feeling cooler because he was always roasting hot all year round

DBatteryBand · 13/05/2026 14:30

I’ve always been a bit of a sweaty mess, but now I’m freezing. The weather doesn’t help. I have a wardrobe packed with all my lovely new summer clothes but I’ve had to get my woollens back out. I’m wearing a thermal vest today. In May!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/05/2026 16:05

Very cold here. Fighting the urge to put my dressing gown on over my clothes.

hottubsundays · 13/05/2026 17:29

Yes I’ve been working at home from the sofa in about 4 layers, 2 blankets and 1 kitten sitting on my feet - she makes the best hot water bottle! Think I’ve had a stomach bug rather than MJ side effects, I’m aching all over today and my guts hurt

MyScaredCat · 13/05/2026 18:25

I think it’s the MJ. I was absolutely freezing last summer. This year so far hasn’t been the same. I’ve obviously lost the weight and the only difference is I’m no longer on MJ

FlorenceNightshade · 13/05/2026 20:33

🎉Well today is my Jab-aversary 🎉

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
GW 67.4kg BMI 21.8
CW 66kg BMI 21.5

Well it’s been a wild year that’s for sure! I’ve been at goal since mid October and maintained between 67kg and 64kg since then. I’m on 2.5mg but will be stopping when current pen is finished. I have a 5mg pen in the fridge as a back up but I feel ready to titrate down and see how it feels to go it alone.

Ive changed my habits, now I’m a regular at the gym 3-5 times a week depending on my shifts instead of skipping it! I’ve shaved about 5 minutes off my 5k time and now run 10k most weeks as standard! I’m looking forward to cycling more in the better weather and I pretty much always hit my step goal.

Food wise I’m eating more or less the same meals but hardly any snacks or treats because I just don’t need them. I still have chocolate from Easter! I’m fully expecting food noise to return but I know I’ll have to eat thousands of extra calories daily to gain the weight back and that just won’t happen as I’m too busy now!

Clothes wise I’ve gone from a 14-16 to a 10. I actually have a pair of jeans that are too big and a pair that are too small, both from Next both a 10. These are my reminder that labels aren’t everything and what one pair of jeans says doesn’t define me!!! I pretty much lived in gym clothes but in a smaller size now!

It’s not been easy, it’s taken hard work and determination but im so proud of myself for not giving up! Recently been dealing with a bereavement and a lot of work stress and have coped with it without turning to food and wine too much!

Ive been brave and posted pictures. I didn’t keep the pic I uploaded to my provider so the only full length I could find was from March 2025. My “after” is actually from September 2025 just before I hit my goal but it was the first time I really saw how different I looked!

The incredible women in this group have kept me inspired and reminded me about what matters, making positive changes for ourselves and our families. Much love to you all and congratulations on your own amazing achievements!

Onwards and Downwards ✌️

Brilliant well done! Love the comment about clothes labels, you can’t rely on them. Do you feel like you are back to a size you have been in the past?

I feel like I’m back to being 21 size wise, probably slimmer in many ways although my ribs are wider why is that?!

hope coming off the jab goes well for you, keep us updated!

FlorenceNightshade · 14/05/2026 13:43

@hottubsundays thank you! No I don’t think I’ve ever been a 10 as an adult! A 12 maybe but never this size so I am thrilled! I’m in a small in my work uniform which thrills me every time I get ready for my shift!

Most importantly I feel fitter and healthier than I have for 20 years and no doubt have improved my health across the board - recent fasting glucose and cholesterol were perfect!

Apprenante · 15/05/2026 09:40

@Gingercar I'll happily send you some of my chilliness.

I feel a bit better about it as my DH (very active and slim) chose to put the heating on - and he's normally running warm - and complained about being cold this morning. So it's not just my lack of padding and MJ. And, apart from Ginger, it seems to be virtually everyone.

@FlorenceNightshade that's wonderful! And a great start to your working day.

What an amazing lot we are.

Gingercar · 15/05/2026 10:01

I’ve been a bit cold this week, but the weather here has truly reverted to feeling un springlike. I’m wearing leggings a lot, instead of jeans, and always feel colder in them.

Big news- after 5 or 6 weeks of the scales not moving I have finally lost one pound! Hopefully on the move again.🤞

Placestogo · 15/05/2026 10:14

Hi all, quuick update as today is my anniversary!
went from 97.7kg to 76kg. My life has changed in so many ways this year, and although not everything is down to MJ, the new confidence it has given me has contributed massively towards the changes.
in a few weeks i am off somewhere sunny with a couple of friends. I finally have a “beach body”!! 😅
can’t wait!

Apprenante · 15/05/2026 18:10

@Placestogo Enjoy flaunting your beach body!

@Gingercar Hooray for the 1lb loss! I hope it takes some of its friends with it.
