I’m fed up at the minute. Back on my plateau. So sick of working so hard and not getting much in the way of results. I’m doing around 18,000 steps a day, running easily now, still eating well, apparently under my needed calories to lose weight, drinking water - yet no loss for another fortnight. I seem to get a lb or two loss after four or five weeks of nothing, then another few weeks wait. I don’t have suppression and don’t feel like I can eat much less and do all this exercise.

My ever sensible husband points out that it’s not going up and is still going down, albeit at snail’s pace. I have no intention of giving up. I am enjoying the exercise and fitness I have achieved, and feel ok in my self. I would just like this last stone to shift and the slight bit of flab that is left to be gone! I feel quite jealous of those who can eat tiny portions and lose quickly!

DBatteryBand · 15/07/2026 13:00

Is disheartening, isn’t it? I seem to be stuck losing and gaining the same two pounds.

ElsieJay · 15/07/2026 15:54

Oh dear , we’re all a bit down in the dumps at the moment ( me included ).

Too flipping tired to jab last night , it was a long day and ended up eating beige, greasy comfort airline crap food which I wouldn’t have done 3 months ago .
Today has been unpacking , washing, ironing, dusting, weeding , collecting cat 🐈‍⬛ ( that was lovely , she was so happy to see us ) - fuelled by tea and handfuls of biscuits……

Have contacted my WW group leader and committed to weighing in on Friday - hopefully that will be the kick up the bum that I need.
We CAN do this !

DBatteryBand · 15/07/2026 16:49

I have just opened a drawer in the spare room and taken out some clothes I was wearing this time last year. They are simply enormous, and it was a good reminder of progress made. I've cleared most of my big clothes out, but have kept a few items, notably the last top I bought before starting Mounjaro. I bought it because it was the only top in the entire shop (John Lewis, Newcastle) I could get into. I remember putting it on to go out for dinner that night and feeling awful - monstrous and hideous. I would much rather be sitting about in my size 12 trousers grumbling that I want to lose another few pounds than feeling so thoroughly negative about myself. We've got plenty to be positive about.

Apprenante · 15/07/2026 17:47

@DBatteryBand you are absolutely right and - in the nicest possible way - that was the kick up the bum I needed. I'd got a mind set of "I've done this and I can relax" and clearly that is never going to be the case. I just need to be thrilled with what I've achieved (which I am) and get on with it.

Currently trying to get another pen which is proving a bit tricky. I haven't ordered since pengate and im not sure if the pharmacy believes that I stocked up so much AND that I'm 2" shorter. I wish I wasnt!

SussexLass87 · 15/07/2026 18:16

Also joining the disheartened club. No real loss for a few weeks now.

I've had to decide that I will come off it soon I think - the lack of losses and the ever increasing money. Really I need to go up the doses but I just can't afford it anymore.

It's sad as there's been so many extra benefits, not just weight loss, my hip replacement has been noticeably more aching since I started titrating down.

Husband and I have talked and given ourselves a proper pep chat about exercise, food and just renewing our commitment to it all - whilst sadly deciding that we can't keep affording it.

I still want to stick around here though as it has been such a great community of support!

I'm thinking about the Wegovy tablets - but might wait to see how things calm down there.

Gingercar · 15/07/2026 19:54

@DBatteryBand that’s a good idea. I’ve just put on the only pair of summer trousers I could fit into last year in the heat…. (they say 18, but they are a large 18 and they were tight! The top of the legs has the familiar chub rub holes where the fabric has worn away. I’m going to k these to put on when I’m feeling fed up!).

Gingercar · 15/07/2026 19:56

Forgot the pic!
Am still fed up, but less so thanks to you guys. 😘

DBatteryBand · 15/07/2026 21:35

That's amazing! You look great!

SussexLass87 · 15/07/2026 21:53

Wowee Gingercar ✨✨✨

Apprenante · 16/07/2026 09:32

What a great reminder/motivator @Gingercar . I'm going to get my largest jeans out of the charity shop bag ....

Gingercar · 16/07/2026 12:13

I think it’s really good to keep something from before to remind us. It gave me a shock! I mean you know you’ve lost weight and gone down sizes, but still..!

Megsdaughter · 16/07/2026 18:44

I was sorting to put my bigger clothes on Vinted and tried my size 26 trousers on after seeing your picture. I'm now a size 16 and the difference was so funny.

I had slowed right diwn. Losing maybe a half pound a week then dropped 2lb a week for two weeks but this week didnt lose anything!. Diet has been the same as usual as in calorie intake but I think I had more carbs than usual. I really cant eat carbs.

ElsieJay · 17/07/2026 13:15

@Gingercar : that’s amazing ! 😻
I had a wardrobe clear out early in the New Year, but seeing your photo has inspired me to see if anything is lurking from the “bad old days “.

@SussexLass87 - wishing you and your DH all the best . Should be good motivation also having your partner trying to lose weight and increase your exercise. Please don’t leave the thread, though !

@Apprenante - fingers crossed you can get another prescription. We’ve all come so far and perhaps we should remind ourselves of that more often than we do !

Well, mes amies, I had the anticipated kick up the bum this morning - five weeks of no jabs plus saying “yes” to calorific food equals 7.5 lbs of lard gained …….

I’ve nobody to blame but myself, and I’m not even regretting what I did, because we had the most amazing time .
Jabbed yesterday afternoon - back to basics with 2.5mg - nausea and unpleasant burps this morning , but (thus far) no desire to eat anything, other than a few frozen grapes.

BUT it has made me fearful of a future without WLIs, or possibly Wegovy tablets.
I had naively thought that walking much more than normal would balance out the increased calorie intake - clearly not the case !
Like you, @Megsdaughter , carbs are definitely my downfall……

ElsieJay · 17/07/2026 13:24

I’ve resurrected my screensaver from May 2025.

May 2025 Starters Thread 8. Happy One Year Anniversary To Us!!
Gingercar · 17/07/2026 15:12

Under normal circumstances I’d say 7.5 lbs is easy to get rid of. But I’m sat on my plateau and have been for ages!

SussexLass87 · 17/07/2026 16:00

Always love your positivity @ElsieJay - thank you!

Sorry about the gain - but it sounds like you had a great time on your travels!

Gingercar · 17/07/2026 18:16

Sorry, that sounded more negative than it was supposed to- I have every faith that ElsieJay will have this off in no time. You’ve got to enjoy your holidays.. Getting a few lbs off now and again is normal. Letting it amount to several stones is the issue - which none of us are going to ever do again ..

DBatteryBand · 18/07/2026 07:29

Good luck @ElsieJay ! It will go, and you had a great time, so I reckon 7.5lbs isn't so bad, and much of it will be water.

One pound down this week, which in the terrible dieting doldrums feels like a massive achievement. I just hope it doesn't mysteriously jump back on again next week, as seems to be the pattern. I am becoming fixated on being in the 'healthy' BMI range for the first time in my entire adult life. I am about five pounds off, which, at this rate, will take until Christmas to shift. After decades of disapproval and humiliation from the medical profession, I have a childish desire to get into the healthy range, stand on the scales at the GP's surgery and shout, 'IN YOUR FACE!!!'

I do understand that this should not be the main motivation for weightloss.

Apprenante · 18/07/2026 10:57

@ElsieJay I don't think 7.5lbs after a long and very enjoyable holiday sounds too bad at all. I - in the olden days, pre MJ - could put on 7.5lbs after a weekend away! You'll soon see it disappear.

I think that sounds like a very strong motivation for weight loss @DBatteryBand .

I've tried to order another pen but so far it's all come to a halt. One problem is that I'd originally recorded my height as 5' 2. It always had been that as far as I knew. This time I put 5' as that is the new height of the shrunken old lady I seem to have become. Of course they suspect that I've changed my height to give myself a bigger BMI. I wish!

ElsieJay · 18/07/2026 12:05

Thanks, @Gingercar , @DBatteryBand
and @Apprenante - what would I do without you lot in my corner ! ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely WW leader did say ( some of ) the gain would be water, so shouldn’t be too hard to shift. Hope she’s right ……
Gosh, @Apprenante , didn’t realise it would be so difficult to get a new pen - they must have clamped down quite a lot . Fingers crossed 🤞 you are sorted soon.

@DBatteryBand - “In Your Face ! “ sounds a perfectly appropriate response, tempting to make it even stronger …. 🤬🤬

Gingercar · 18/07/2026 21:27

I had another weird reaction last night. I had a 5mg jab at 8pm (1mg less than last time) and woke up at 2am with that awful stomach ache again. At least I now know that heat helps, so I went and got a hot water bottle, but it took 3 hours to abate. How funny that I got no effects all the way up to 12.5 but have now.

Im a little “worried” about how long this pen is lasting/going to last. Because I’ve been titrating down and only doing a jab every 10-14 days, I’ve not even used half the pen in 3 months, and even if I stayed on 5mg every 10 days I could still get a further 3 months out of it. Would you? It’s kept in the fridge. I think these intermittent side effects is putting seeds of doubt in my head.

Apprenante · 18/07/2026 22:08

I doubt it's anything to do with the age of the pen BUT if you're worrying I would chuck it and use a new one next time.

No point being stressed about this odd pain.

I've read posts from people who've experienced more side effects on lower doses when titrating down than previously on a higher dose.

Warm careful hugs to you

Gingercar · 18/07/2026 22:15

I know, but throwing away a 15mg pen, when they cost so much, stresses me too!🤣

Gingercar · 18/07/2026 22:28

It hasn’t happened every time I have jabbed from the pen. I’m sure it’s a coincidence. That’s what sensible husband thinks.
Interesting that it’s a thing that people get more effects when titrating down. Sometimes I think I might feel less hungry too. Perhaps I should stay on 2.5/5 for a while!
