Weygovy April 26 starters

I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

My wegovy arrived! I am going to inject on Sunday eve (I use to do that with Mounjaro last year). I thought wegovy was separate pens for each week but it was just one pen?

@lechatnoir I am not sure this dose is expected to be therapeutic. I had not expected any impact tbh, just getting used to the meds. The first week was amazing but the affect was lower the second week and not feeling any yet week three. I think we will all be more or less sensitive, so perhaps you will get results when we can switch to a higher dose?

I am following fast 800 (with slightly higher cals to help me to continue for longer) as the meals are lovely, and the focus is on healthy food. I've followed this before and hoping that wegovy will give me the added encouragement to stick to it. I had a bigger dinner last night and some wine (def not on plan and first time since starting) then back on plan today.

I do totally get the frustration though. After a first great week, week 2 was really disappointing for me. We are not far from increasing the dose so fingers crossed this will be when you start to feel something and see results? X

@Ibwah great news, hoping it kicks in straight away for u 🤞🏽 yes it’s just one pen with the 4 amounts (well 5) in it. Does it look and operate the same as ur mounjaro pens did?
im interested to see or hear if anyone was able to click on past for the 5th dose.
yes I think getting to day 8 or 9 with still some suppression before doing shot 2 is a good way of just making it stretch out. That plus the 5th dose would give us say 40-45 days covered instead of 28. A nice little saving when it’s nearly €200 for me.

has anyone else found they are spending way less on food thou? Between not wanting coffees/snacks etc and 1 breakfast/ lunch and dinner now doing me 2 days I’ve found my weekly shop will easily last me 2 weeks and I’d have spent €10 a day easily on coffees and other bits to snack on, so another €60-70 saved there too

Ordered my first pen this morning. I dithered all night over it but I can't go on the way I am.

I need to take full body pictures before it's sent (I don't have a mirror at home except the little bathroom one!) so I'll have to do that in a changing room in town but I feel like I've got the hard bit (emotionally) out of the way.

I've got a wedding next weekend so I'm wondering whether I should wait until that's over because I don't want nasty side effects popping up in the middle of it!!

Well done. Can you use the front camera on phone on timer? That's what I did.

I had an increase overnight due to a large glass of wine and salty food. Definitely ready for the jab today.

Week 2 weigh in and I’ve lost 3lb so 8lb in total over the 2 weeks and a new stone bracket. Really pleased with that 😊

@JumpingJacks11 it does not look
the same as the mounjaro one. Are people using the “golden dose” with wegovy? Thought that was just Mounjaro and they’ve now put a stop
to that!

@Ibwah I have heard there is a 5th dose in the wegovy pen and gpt says u can try to click it round for a 5th dose but it might be harder to click and it may fall slightly short of the 0.25 if you primed the pen a few times or lost drops on each injection etc..

im interested to hear from anyone who’s gotten that far and tried it

okay; well still experiencing edema and the scale creeping up.
i need to trust the process. as per google this edema reaction is from the decreased blood sugar (i don't have blood sugar issues) thanks to the glp1.

unfortunately it may take 3 weeks to resolve 😥

but satiety is fine and i have good foods available and meal planning experience for low cal meals. i've been increasing my activity level and know it will all pay off soon

@DreamingOfGeneHunt well done. I’m going to do mine tonight- been reading the instructions. So is it right that I don’t need to clean the end or prime as I did with Mounjaro?

My weight went up over 2lbs Saturday and Sunday even though I was good. Hopefully will get back on track now jabbed. So frustrating.

DH got turned down by med express he’d said he’d had high BP at one point but they couldn’t find it on his medical records, so he either tries again which will give me £50 of credit or go to another like Voy.

appetite suppression has kicked in more, but we’re doing up a house so I immersed myself in gardening the overgrown garden. As I’m a boredom eater it probably helped.

2nd jab for me today.

Morning all! Glad I've found this thread. I had my first jab last week - started on 0.25 last Monday so time to jab again tonight. I was absolutely terrified of side effects but apart from feeling dizzy after I ate a biggish meal (daughter wanted Chinese so I had chicken fried rice but half of the portion) I have not had any. I am trying to eat better and healthier - my downfall is crisps! I have also stopped drinking (because I'm a maniac and can't have just one 😭). I also have symptoms from diverticular disease and these have been less, so that's good!

I am 5'7, I was 15 st 4lbs at the start of last week - I'm now 14 st 12lbs but I haven't eaten anything today. I am heaviest now than I have ever been, even when I was pregnant 16 years ago!! Not sure what my goal weight is - maybe 10.5 or 11 stone? (Sorry I will learn kg honestly!!)

first jab this morning. Weighed in at 13 stone 6lb. 5’2”. Let’s see what happens this week!

@CelestialCandyfloss I'm 5ft6 and would love to be under 10 stone as this puts me in the middle of a healthy BMI but at this stage I'll take 10stone anything!

Just completed my first month and waiting to increase dose at next pen.

have been really pleased with the lack of side effects as this was a worry of mine.

Not technically a weigh in day but couldn't resist - after the gain I recorded on Sunday I've really been tracking calories and thinking about portion sizes and 2lbs down 😁 that's 4lb off after 3 jabs / 2 and a bit weeks! Zero negative side effects too.

I'll be switching my jabs from Sunday to Friday this week as its just easier schedule wise.

@Ibwah we're almost on the same numbers - am 5'1.5" and started a lb lighter than you. What's your target weight?
4 stone off takes me to 9st 5 puts me just healthy bmi but that seems completely unachievable!

@jabsahoy I am aiming for 4 stone off. I have got into running over he last year but am currently injured (foot tendonitis). I lost a bit last year on Mounjaro, but came off early because of price. I had my first jab yesterday morning and am not sure I have felt any different. Had Weetabix, yoghurt, egg and protein bar so far. We will see, it may be that I need to go up, or I just need more time! How quickly did people feel suppression? With Mounjaro, I felt really headachy and upset stomach the day after injection but don’t have that today… how’s everyone getting on?

24hrs on from 2nd jab and symptoms other than one a bit of indigestion.

@Ibwah i think my loss of appetite has been more significant than the noise suppression. I’m still getting the munchies but only when I’m less preoccupied and then I’m having less or healthier than I’d have had before.

@jabsahoy nice to see that back down, I was kinda similar and not weigh day until Friday but wanted to see what the scales said today, thankfully I’m back down and another pound since last Friday so going in the right direction, would love another 1 off by Fridays weigh 🤞🏽🙏🏽 if I kept losing 2 pounds a week I’d be absolutely over the moon!

@Katkincake I’m same, well 4 days into second injection and it’s loss of appetite for me too, or when I do start eating I lose interest after a few bites. I do think for the first week I was constantly thinking abt it because I was wondering was it working but I’ve kinda forgot about it this week
