Accoding to my random number generator I lost 5.1 kg in my sleep last night. That's almost a stone. 🤣

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 05/03/2026 07:53

@MrTiddlesTheCat 🤣🤣

MCR24 · 05/03/2026 08:13

This week I've lost 1.1kg (2 lb and 6.8 oz) so the .5kg I've been going round in circles with has gone again, hopefully for good.

SW: 142.8kg. / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW: 68.0kg / 10 stone, 9 lb and 14.6 oz
BMI: 50.8 / 24.2
Total lost: 74.8kg / 11 stone, 10 lb and 14.5 oz

To get to mid healthy BMI: 8.0kg / 1 stone, 3 lb and 10.2 oz

My next goal is to get the 1.8kg (4lb) off so my 'still to lose' is under 1 stone

I find it really interesting that you are all talking about not feeling able to wear jeans. I've always lived in jeans, even at my heaviest (23 stone/size 26) as I like the feeling of my tummy being contained. Leggings have always felt too loose and like everything is more wobbly and exposed - I've always looked forward to being able to wear them once I lose weight, rather than the other way around. It's interesting how we have such different feelings about this.

I was thinking similar. I'm in a really shapeless jumpsuit today, I love loose flowing thinks knowing I'm not trying to hide anything under them. I used to wear a lot of lagenlook size 8 -26 clothes thinking I looked slimmer but I really didn't. Whatever my size properly fitted clothes look best. But I'm gardening and pottering so the freedom is nice in a loose cotton romper

I think it depends on body shape. I have way more weight on my bum and lower stomach than my waist. Jeans big enough to go over my hips are then 2 sizes too big around my waist. So I spend the whole time pulling them back up.

I'm the same as you @RenegadeKeeblerElf in that I've always worn jeans, even at over 25.5 stone. Whilst I've never been a fan of super skin tight clothing I've always worn fairly fitted clothes rather than super baggy ones. Now I find myself in leggings and short tops which is completely alien to me!

I usually wear dresses and tights to work and at least one of those dresses I was wearing 8st ago (and the tights all still fit fine as well!), it's just a lot longer in length 🤣.
And weirdly my boobs are looking different because the torso below them now is flat and not projecting out the same distance, probably helped by new bras in a 38DD instead of a 40E (and I couldn't really fit in those a year ago)

My body feels like a candle melting at this point, feels like all the fat has moved to my legs as they are easily my chunkiest body parts. I might just wear gym leggings all the time now as they seem to contain and smooth it out best!

@PearlsTeapot your jeans look great!

Billybingbong · 05/03/2026 12:19

I think for me, I always shied away from jeans and anything more tailored, because my body was so out of proportion, and nothing fitted properly. If they fitted on the waist, they were too long in the leg. If they fitted on my huge apron belly, the waist was too big, etc etc. Plus I always remember being told many years ago that jeans added 2 sizes to you, which I know is a load of rubbish, but it always stuck with me. Also, my self esteem was so bad, I just didn't feel I could ever look good in anything, so what was the point in trying. I looked shit anyway, so I may as well be comfortable in my shapeless dresses (never leggings, I only started wearing those recently), than uncomfortable in 'proper' clothes.

TragicMuse · 05/03/2026 13:22

Thinking about clothes and my under-the-bed stash, I remembered a fabulous pair of drapey combat-style pants I had about 35 years ago. Wish I still had those! Can I find anything similar? No. No I cannot.

Some things I don’t miss. Others I REALLY do!

MCR24 · 05/03/2026 14:56

I've always worn 'fitted' clothes as in not tight but I never went to the baggy t-shirts and leggings. I generally wore shaped t-shirts and jeans (preferably wide leg to get a decent waist fit but also fit my legs). I always thought wearing non fitted clothes would make me look even bigger than I was. It's so interesting to hear how we all felt so differently about clothes!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 05/03/2026 15:44

I also only wear fitted stuff but everything is made from stretchy t-shirt material.

SilenceInside · 05/03/2026 16:18

Weirdly it feels like I can't remember what I used to wear at my biggest, it's almost as if I've deliberately wiped it from my mind! It was mostly loose fitting tunics from places like Seasalt or Gudrun Sjoden that do the larger sizes. I wore leggings or tights mainly from Snag due to the larger sizes and the sensible design for larger bodies. Or M&S black straight leg joggers. I didn't have very many clothes as I hated how everything looked and lived in a few things that I found tolerable. I didn't wear anything fitted or with a jeans type non-stretch waistband, as I found anything constricting like that on my stomach to be very uncomfortable. I only started wearing jeans and cords when I got down to around a size 18.

It is very strange to think back to those times, compared to now. Now I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I actively like, even love, wearing that were all chosen because of what they looked like rather than because they came in an XXL.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 05/03/2026 17:14

I loved my size 24/26 skinny jeans and used to live in them and leggings with tunics, I felt I looked awful in anything jeans wise other than skinny 😃, now I love the ‘mom’ style, I’ve tried wide leg jeans but I think you need to be tall for them, I look like a hobbit type creature.
I was convinced that I would continue with the seasalt tunics and leggings combo as I lost weight, I did for a while but at my current weight it looks odd.

Went to John Lewis to spend my voucher, everything is so expensive! I tried on a few dresses all size 12, and settled on a White Stuff pink dress, photos attached! I spotted a hip bone 😂, the second dress is from Nobody’s Child but the neck line was a bit low for me and my tummy paunch is visible, plus I like my comfy no wire bras, not willing to compromise on that! I bought a couple of t-shirts, a new cardigan and a lovely leather belt to prolong the life of my size 12 jeans as they are too loose. I’ve had my long hair cut off as well, I feel like a new woman!

If anyone hasn't seen the news yet, official confirmation from Eli Lilly came out about the reduced pens being in the UK from April, so expect another pendemic if you are due to order again soon.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 05/03/2026 17:56

You look fantastic @Iwouldratherbesinging😍

Before MJ all my clothes were shit. I just bought the cheapest I could get in my size from places like shein. Partly because I can’t afford expensive stuff but mostly because I knew I didn’t look good in anything so had given up trying. I am really enjoying clothes shopping now. I still don’t buy expensive stuff as I can’t afford it but I recently started buying clothes from H&M, Next and Uniqlo and they are just so much nicer and better quality than anything I’ve had before. I’m looking forward to doing a big summer clothes shop.

Just had an email from one supplier that I've used warning of supply issues and recommending buying a multi-month bundle to secure a supply and save money 🤔

Ketra · 05/03/2026 18:40

@RenegadeKeeblerElf I didn't think the pharmacies would be encouraging it this early, but considering what happened last year I don't blame them. My provider doesn't usually do bundles and I ordered recently anyway so I'll have to wait a week and hope it doesn't get as crazy as last time, especially as last time I was on 2.5/5 and found it hard enough to get those pens - this time I am on 10 which is apparently the most popular!

SilenceInside · 05/03/2026 18:44

I have a pen that I’ve just started and then two more in stock, so I should be good until any buying frenzy has calmed down, I hope. Will there be as much of a panic as in Sept last year, do we think?

Doggymummar · 05/03/2026 18:49

@Ketra what does this mean, prices going down? Happy days. I jus5 started the last one I bought in August last year and have ordered wegovy as I can't afford Mj any more. Do you have a link to an article so I can get the skinny?

SilenceInside · 05/03/2026 18:50

@Doggymummar sadly not reduced in price! Just reduced in volume so that the “fifth” dose isn’t there any more.

It did feel a bit irresponsible to me, but I guess they want to get ahead of the game and cash in as much as possible on the panic. I could bulk order but it would have to go on a credit card and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that

Ketra · 05/03/2026 19:20

@SilenceInside I think we will see similar issues to last year as so many people rely on the extra dose to keep costs down, but I suppose it depends on how many people can afford to stockpile, and how well pharmacies manage the demand this time.

@Doggymummar Sorry to get your hopes up!

SilenceInside · 05/03/2026 19:27

I've just ordered with Swift Doctor so won't be able to order again for at least a week I think, maybe two. Annoying, but I am fortunate that I can manage to afford pens with the 4 doses and no extra dose. I have also benefited from the fifth dose for a year and a half now, so I shouldn't really complain! It always surprised me that Eli Lilly filled the pens to that extent, obviously you need some additional medication for priming, but it did always seem like far too much. Hence people not wanting to waste it.

You could order from another supplier, they won't know you've only just ordered
