Do we know yet when the pen changes will happen? I only have pens ordered in July and August at the mo.

I also really want to know this. How quickly are they being rolled out and how many months of old stock do we reckon is around in the system?

FurForksSake · 10/09/2025 11:41

With the long shelf lives I would have thought we’ve got a while? Maybe someone on Reddit will know.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 10/09/2025 16:27

I emailed Eli Lilly myself, and this is all that they said about the timeframe of changing the pens: "While the modified KwikPen has been approved in the UK, the timelines for availability are yet to be determined." (Screenshots of their reply to me attached.)

I was really skeptical that this is what the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) posted on Reddit meant. Not because I know anything about drug licensing at all (clearly!) but because I found the poster arguing that the change in wording was inconsequential convincing. Sadly wrong.

Well hopefully that means we’ve all got at least 6 months left before it rolls out. It doesn’t sound like it’s going to be happening in the next month at least!

FattyBumBum17 · 10/09/2025 20:21

Has anyone managed to order from Pharmulous via their new website? I’m an existing customer but I can’t find anywhere to reorder without going through the whole consultation process again?

KrankyKumquat · 10/09/2025 21:50

@FattyBumBum17
I read somewhere else that everyone has to do the initial consult so all info is on the system. After that you'll get access to a reorder button which has fewer questions.

After the chaos they created at the end of August and its rumbling aftermath the switch in pens is unlikely to be announced. I hope that a regulator somewhere called Eli Lilly with a WTAF do you think you are doing creating this chaos. (Unlikely I know but maybe some UK Eli Lilly staff may have told the US HQ that they have come across as a load of tossers). I think the change will just happen as part of stock churn during the rest of this year.

Thankyou, I have ordered via the consultation so will see what happens.

Yeah that’s pretty much what happened when I started ordering back in June but because they have a new website it looks like I have to do it all again, even though I’m not a new customer. Anyway. I’ve ordered so will see what they say.

Asda. With delivery

MiniCoopers · 14/09/2025 08:10

I’ve been fine with Juniper generally though last month they offered me a pen at £150 and still charged me £229! I sent a message on the app chat y’day and they have apologised and said I’ll have £75 off my next order. Annoying I had to pull them up though.

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 14/09/2025 10:38

For those of us who had to order more than one pen because some suppliers took over three weeks to deliver. How are you doing to get around the 4-8 week reorder window? I ordered from Bolt who took three weeks. I put another order in with med express who also took three weeks to deliver. Then I ordered from my previous supplier IQ who wouldn't even approve me for over three weeks. In desperation for a pen I ordered from Juniper. Then they all turned up. I have four pens now. Innreality I think I could make them last a long time. But like to be able to reorder at some point. Is it worth explaining to them? To get a pause on all orders?

It depends what dose you're on and what BMI you have - I'm on 2.5 and still way over the prescribing BMI so can order any time from any provider as they just assume I'm a new customer! But if you need a higher dose then I've seen people suggest keeping photos of all the boxes with the date you started them so the provider can see you had a stash to use up. Also evidence of your starting weight if you drop below BMI 30 while using them

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 14/09/2025 11:10

My bmi is 32.4. I need to check my nhs app as I think it's on there too

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 14/09/2025 11:21

It was on my nhs app but my records only suddenly go back the last two years now

FurForksSake · 14/09/2025 11:47

I wouldn’t worry too much, they might ask why the gap and you can explain about the price rises. Most pharmacies said that it would be fine

I’ve just paid for the two pens I bought in August, with my oushk discount then the two pens weren’t much more than the price for one now.

I did buy one from oushk for delivery in November when they did that flash sale.

Maaate · 14/09/2025 12:20

I spoke to my usual supplier (Cloud) and said that I had a couple of pens so won't need to order for around 10 weeks, and they said to take a photo of the pens and then use that as evidence

Talk to your provider now and get them to agree to a break in ordering (in writing). Some will be fine with this, others won't better to get this sorted now before you get stuck. The maintenance pharmacies (cloud, Pharmulous, Swift, Oushk, lotus, pharmacy express) all seem to be saying fine with evidence, but other pharmacies have historically been really strict, IQ dr for example have bumped people down doses with more than a 6 weeks gap even with evidence.

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 14/09/2025 13:15

Thanks. I'm going to check with a few of them I have previously used and see what they say. If I could get a three month break approved that should be enough time to use up a few pens and see where my weight is by that time.

Orangesandlemons77 · 14/09/2025 15:06

I'm unsure what Voy are doing. Contacted them on chat to change my next dose and they have done it but changed my price to that of a new customer (previous ones are supposed to get a discount)

I think it is because they change their prices today and the website is doing it automatically, it can be quite glitchy I find. Luckily I have referral credits so still affordable but annoying going forward. I will have to see if they sort it out or not..
