Medexpress reorder refused. What now?

Anyone had this? I am two doses in to my first 2.5mg pen. I just had my email prompt to reorder so I went through to the form. Refused. Not eligible?

I emailed them and apparently new research has come in which means they are “no longer able to treat some of their existing patients.”

So I literally just started and that’s it I can’t even get a second pen.

Try another pharmacy? What’s the condition that you think they’re referring to?

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 18:56

I don’t have one so I’m not sure. I can only assume it’s that the two weeks’ losses has taken me just under 30 BMI.

Which I assume means maybe others won’t prescribe either?

I switched to Oushk a couple of weeks ago at BMI 27ish.

I just had to show my previous order and provide weight/photos etc at current weight.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 18/05/2025 18:58

It’s all a bit Wild West so I wouldn’t assume that. Curely are quite good, you get to talk to human.

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 19:01

Will take a look thank you! Feels very Wild West tbh. Why would you email me telling me to increase to 5mg and then refuse to prescribe (I asked to stay on 2.5 I didn’t want to increase yet).

wlinewbie0425 · 18/05/2025 19:16

Surely they have to tell you why after prescribing you the first pen. What ‘new research’? They’ve just got you started on the drug then just plan to cut you off without explanation? I’m worried about this too now as I have dropped back into overweight since starting in obese range with them but am a long way from healthy goal weight.

AmateurNoun · 18/05/2025 19:21

I have seen that some providers won't let you stay on 2.5 (there is a thread on SheMed) so maybe they are taking a similar approach? Seems odd that they wouldn't at least offer you 5 if so

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 19:22

I understand the safety rules are probably evolving continually but it seems equally irresponsible to prescribe one month’s dose and then refuse any more?!

OP posts:
HotHoney · 18/05/2025 19:22

It won’t be bmi, once you’ve started they will let you go down. You should call them.

HotHoney · 18/05/2025 19:23

Also did you tick that you’ve been using the injections on the order form? I missed that out once and they wouldn’t prescribe.

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 19:26

Yep I said yes to had I used it before. It was weird as the form came up and said at the top “we’ve pre-filled your information” etc. But they hadn’t so I was filling it in from scratch.

I emailed them to ask why and this is what they said:

“We regularly review our protocols and patient safety is our priority. Due to changes in guidance and new research on GLP1s, our Senior Clinical Team have revised our eligibility criteria for GLP1 treatment.

Unfortunately this has meant that we are unable to treat some of our existing patients. We understand that this decision may be frustrating and disappointing.”

I think I’d email them and ask for clarification of exactly why you don’t fit their criteria.

Goingawayistricky · 18/05/2025 19:29

It’s a glitch.
Mine also did this last week.
I tried a few times and eventually hit the pre filled form up and then was allowed it:

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 19:30

I’ve just asked exactly that. Seems odd.

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 19:32

Oh interesting @Goingawayistricky
was that using the link to your account from the reorder email? Should I try again tomorrow?

FoodieToo · 18/05/2025 20:08

Did you log into your account ? This happens if you don't.

On the plus side, you can go find another pharmacy that charge less and don’t use MLM tactics to sell regulated pharmaceuticals to vulnerable people.

monj.co.uk has a listing of all reputable pharmacies, and you can sort by price.

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 20:15

@FoodieToo yes I logged in and clicked reorder.

Changingdisincase · 18/05/2025 20:16

@jeanclaude i guess I’ll have to. I just find the order process really nerve wracking - like when you apply for a credit card! Would have happily stayed with one supplier.

@FoodieToo yes I logged in and clicked reorder.

Ok that's very strange . It's just I do remember similar happening to me . I think the system was logging me out at some stage .
Keep trying !

I found monj.co.uk rubbish for having their prices up to date , tried with several suppliers and they all ended significantly more expensive than advertised .
Anyone else ?

SilenceInside · 18/05/2025 20:27

I’ve always found Monj accurate once you’ve put in the discount code given.

susiedaisy1912 · 18/05/2025 20:32

I’ve them a ring tomorrow and ask why.

susiedaisy1912 · 18/05/2025 20:32

I mean. I’d give them a ring.

12purplepencils · 18/05/2025 20:38

@bugalugs45 yes! I had this with Numan.

Was very annoying as said £125 on the list and ended up about £145 (10mg) which is not bad but only a few £ cheaper than my existing supplier so was not worth the hassle of swapping.

I have now just swapped to Swift and they were super quick at approving me and dispatching,

Just needed to send a pic of the box from my previous prescription plus the usual photos. My BMI is now 28 so I was concerned but it was all fine.
