Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Lovely NSV here....... just been trying on more 'summery' skirts from my wardrobe, I knew most would be too big and thought perhaps I could just move buttons/insert safety pins in the interim until I reach goal.

OMG! They are all waaaaaay past that stage.

Also, I tried tucking my top in, not only did it look good, it looked BETTER.... 😲

After all these years...... I'm flabbergasted!

@itsnotagameshow have the same midnight runs on 7.5 a couple of nights a week, glad to hear I’m not the only one.

Fatigue is the biggest issue for me right now and it zaps motivation to eat well. Have made sure I have a load of fruit and protein friendly snacks in to help.

Have decided on a fancy pair of shoes when I hit my next big goal. So hope that will motivate me to keep going.

Sending solidarity!

I jabbed a couple of hours ago and weirdly my slightly crampy stomach has subsided since (had the infamous midnight runs last night and was feeling a bit delicate) - so fingers crossed this week will be better.

Happy Friday all! I had lost another pound again (taking me to 38 guinea pigs) but on weighing myself this morning I’ve put one back on. But I did meet a friend at the pub last night and 2 large wines, 2 pints later, this morning I’m feeling distinctly like a badger’s arse 🦡.

In hair news I’m now extremely blonde (keep jumping slightly when I look in the mirror) and am the proud owner of a very subtle long fringe. Took quite a few inches off the length too.

I’ve got reformer Pilates later but not till lunchtime thank the gods. My DH is out tonight for a work reunion thing so I’m looking forward to an early bedtime with my toddler 😆

Will try to not eat all the carbs under the sun today!

Well done on the losses! Love the guinea pig analogy 😂

hope the hangover has passed!

I feel your pain, I’ve been 10.4.2 or 10.4.4 since Sunday. My period came this week, though, so I’m putting it down to that. Flipping biology!

Sadly I can’t even blame the menstrual cycle…..! Hope you get your whoosh tho!

@RayonSunrise I think it's entirely possible. If you use Shotsy you'll see that the base/permanent amount of MJ in your bloodstream goes up incrementally every time you inject - obviously that will peak at some point if you don't start using a higher pen, but I am still on a 5mh pen and suppression has definitely continued to go up over time for me so far.

Skincare: I listened to a Zoe podcast featuring a consultant dermatologist who says that the evidence shows that the things that work for skin are: sunscreen, antioxidants such as Vit C, and retinol. She says the jury is out on collagen but your best bet is probably to try to get it through diets such as the Mediterranean diet.

Finally, I am within a whisper of dropping from the 21stone bracket to the 20s. I'm very happy with my weight loss which so far is a steady 2lb loss per week. Sticking with 5mg for the moment.

Woo hoo for the imminent new stone bracket! 💪🏻💪🏻

After last week's slow down I've knocked off 2lb this week and am loving the difference in scans between Jan & March. 11.5.6 stone so chipping away. My healthy BMI starts at 10 stone.

That’s amazing! I wish I’d scanned myself back in November now…!

I've lost a smidge over a stone in that time. It really shows! I've celebrated with a coffee and 2 prunes 😂

Loving the snack of choice there 😂

trying to not be too despondent
onwards and downwards!
a loss is still a loss!

I did have a tough week and I didn’t fall off the diet wagon so that is good. I am due my period so blaming hormones.

I am definitely feeling the benefits of the weight I have lost so just need to KBO 😁

well done everyone for being in the journey 💪

I've just googled, and they seem pretty common, including in those who lose a large amount of weight!

The consultant seemed to think they’d been there for a while but I bloody hope i haven’t given myself them!

Weighing in.

W19D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:16st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 3st 1lb

Woop, that's better, it's going back down again.

Re the gallstones, I was told that most people have them but only usually find out through scans for other things. The five factors that make them more likely are 'Female, Fertile, Fat, Fair, and Forty', which I would imagine is a fair few of us here! They are only a problem if they're creating a problem, but tiny ones that just pass through your system or big ones that can't leave the gallbladder usually don't tend to create any issues.

Your gallbladder will normally let you know if something is wrong. Because I've got IBS it took me a while to work out that the gallbladder attacks were something different, but I'd get horrific cramping all round my torso and then throw up, just once or twice initially but all day by the last one. That was happening maybe a couple of times a year.

The point I talked to a doctor about surgery was when I developed what felt a bit like a permanent light stitch or bruise. It wasn't especially painful but I was very aware of it. After I had the op the surgeon said it was very inflamed so I think I was lucky it hadn't been more painful than it was.

Thank you for this. I am all of the F’s plus a decade 😂

I did have a mystery inexplicable pain about 10 years ago. Had all of the tests but now I think about it, no one scanned my gall bladder…..😩

Congrats on the losses - over 3 stone! WOO HOO!

Ooh now shoes I am very good at.

When we last moved house the removals men said to DH ‘there are a lot of boxes marked Mounjaropen’s shoes’ and he said ‘yep, it’s like living with a millipede’ 😂

Hope the fatigue wears off!

I had a gallstone. Needed my gallbladder removed as it started playing up. Surgeon proudly presented my gallstone to me, it was like big malteaser. Apparently some people it’s like sludge or lots of small stones.

Mine were of the sludgey variety. For what looked like sand they caused me a lot of pain and made me yellow! And now my DD is going thru the same thing. Both in our early 20s.

Weigh in today - end of week 21. Pleased with 2lbs off this week - and Shotsy tells me that I have lost 20% of my body weight! 2lbs to get to the next stone bracket. Would be lovely to hit that next week but I suspect it may be difficult!

Mounjaropen · 29/03/2025 08:50

🥳🥳🥳🥳

I’m in the 10’s (just!) finally….. wanna know what I ate last and drank night last night to get there…?

….3 x glasses of Rose, a portion of homemade deep filled lasagne (DD’s fave) plus a slim slice of this cake below that I made yesterday and thought DD would like as it has Bailey’s in it (taste notes - it was delish, Mary Berry’s recipe) Anyway, I’m probably dehydrated and have aggravated Gary the gallstone with my Rich, cheesy béchamel sauce but I’m taking the win 🙌

Woohoo! 🎉 party popper moment 🎉 my scales are 1lb down today and I have a BMI of 24.9. They also say my visceral fat has come down to 7 and my body age is down a year to 54. Still 2 years older than my actual age. I’m over the bloody moon!!

Just checked my Shotsy and I’ve lost 20% too. Metabolic age is 54 - which I will be in November…my BMI is still in the 25’s though… only two more ambers on the smart scales to correct. 💪
