Thread for those with less than 30kg to lose

TimeToLoseItAll · 11/10/2024 11:42

I've not seen a thread for this group so decided to make one. Thread is for anyone who has 30kg or less to lose. It also doesn't matter if you already lost some on MJ and are now at or below 30kg.

I had 30kg to lose, now lost a total of 7kg. Will be doing by bonus dose this sunday; hoping to lose another 3kg by the end of the 5th week but will be happy with 1kg loss. Every little helps!

You can also just post with this template

Goal weightloss:
Current loss:
Total loss:
Left to lose:

(Feel free to use metric or imperial. I use metric because of my scales and i find it easier to visualise):

Mine is:
Goal weightloss: 30kg
Current loss: 2.5kg
Total loss: 7kg
Left to lose: 23kg

Feel free to post, share and support each other as we keep going! xx

Hi again everyone! I’m really enjoying this little thread. Congratulations on the successes!

I’m going to start week 13 on Thursday. I think my weight loss journey seems to have slowed right down, I’m in the swing of things to the extent I’m finding MJ a bit tedious.

My current measurements are:
Goal weightloss: 26kg
Total loss: 14kg
Left to lose: 12kg

I started at 74kg & now weigh 60kg (5ft tall). In a weird way, I am excited to wake up tomorrow and see if my weight begins with a 5 instead of a 6! That’s a big milestone for me. I haven’t seen that on the scales since 2022 I believe!

I was hoping to complete MJ in 2024, but I may need it for a few months in the new year. I agree about slower losses being more sustainable though, I did worry about loose skin/stretch marks initially but I’m not concerned as much now my progress has slowed.

Well done and keep going @eeeeeeeee! You’re more than 50% to your goal 🙌 🙌 So excited for you imminently entering the 50’s 😃

We’re a similar height and starting weight so I’m inspired by your weight loss. Hoping that’s me by New Year 🤞

I’m about to get up and weigh myself … let us know if you’re in your 50s now!!

@EdgyPeachPoet @Vegemite123 eeeek thank you both for the support and motivation, it’s official! I weigh 59.85kg! So just barely into the 50s but such a massive milestone and it feels great! I have been stuck in 60kg-74kg for the last 2 years and I’m hoping that’s behind me now

Vegemite123 · 05/11/2024 18:11

That’s fantastic! I’m so pleased for you.

EdgyPeachPoet · 05/11/2024 20:27

Yayyyyyyyy! That’s brilliant, and comfortably in the 50’s 😃

almondmilk123 · 06/11/2024 10:36

I had hideous insomnia for three nights. I wasn't hungry so hadn't eaten much. But I feel like I was trying to go faster with my calorie deficit than the blood-sugar balancing effect of the Wegovy would allow as I'm still on 0.25.

last night I ate a whole 2-portion charlie bingham 1300 cals and slept brilliantly.

Anyone else? There are some scary posts on insomnia on reddit but i suspect it is just excessive calorie deficit before your body is ready

I agree. I had very low calories the other day and I think my body decided to fight me! 3 days now and I'm finally recovering from what felt like illness and a rattled system, I had no choice but to keep forcing food down to keep me alive. I feel much better today and never again! The blood sugar balancing act of MJ is brilliant too but yeah, don't push it.

I don't think I did much, just didn't feel like eating and was too fatigued to bother till dinner but I suppose age is a factor too. What I could get away with in my 20s and 30s, I can't now. Big lesson learned.

Hi! Just thought I’d bump the thread and wish everyone a happy new year! Curious how you’re all getting on too! 😊

TimeToLoseItAll · 01/01/2025 18:05

@eeeeeeeee Hi thanks very much. Happy new year to you too and happy new year to all of us!

Getting on okay. On 10mg now and I've lost a total of 16kg so far. 14kg to go! How's yours going?

I only did 6 weeks on the jabs as I had the worst side affects and ended up in hospital. I have lost 11kgs though but I really have had to bust my gut (🤣) to get there. I have 2kgs I just cannot seem to shift. I couldn't get prescribed again but things I did learn, I had to eat and make sure I hit my Macros and calories. I did put on 2kgs once I stopped though. My body needs me to go to the gym every day unfortunately or I can't seem to keep it off. I have definitely platued which is very frustrating but started back at the gym 2 days ago. Hope everyone had a good new year

TimeToLoseItAll · 01/01/2025 18:36

@Kitkate21 So sorry to hear you ended up at the hospital and had to stop taking the jabs! That must have been an awful experience. I hope you're able to shift that last few kg soon x

eeeeeeeee · 01/01/2025 18:44

@Kitkate21 oh I’m so sorry to hear you were in hospital, that sounds really scary. Was it due to the weight loss injections?

I’m glad you’re doing better and 11kgs is a great success especially considering how poorly you were!

I also need to get to the gym more frequently so you’re giving me some much needed motivation

eeeeeeeee · 01/01/2025 18:47

@TimeToLoseItAll Oh wow - your weight loss sounds brilliant, well done! Do you feel any different? You should be really proud.

I have lost similarly to you, at 19.2kg. Still can’t quite believe it. I haven’t really bought anything new so don’t feel like I look that different!

I have 6.2kg to go to reach my ultimate goal! I’m currently on 12.5mg x

TimeToLoseItAll · 01/01/2025 19:02

@eeeeeeeee Thank you very much 😊 and you've done amazingly too. Congrats on your loss👏 It's wonderful to finally find what works, isnt it?

I definitely feel fantastic, my gut has finally gone in and I have a flat stomach again, all my clothes are loose and I'm buying 2 sizes down now just for tops because I live in leggings so I'm still wearing those, though they're no longer as tight as they used to be. I can't quite believe it and I can't wait to lose the rest.

You must be ecstatic to be so close to goal weight. Will you be getting on maintenance jabs or going it without MJ?

OP posts:
Tohaveandtohold · 01/01/2025 19:30

Happy new year everyone. Well done @TimeToLoseItAll and @eeeeeeeee on your losses so far and all the great NSVs. Sorry @Kitkate21 that it made you unwell but you still had a good loss and hopefully, you’ll be able to shift the remaining weight soon.
I’m still here, from the initial goal I set, I’ve lost 16kg and I have 8.9kg left to target.
My BMI is now 27.0, all my clothes no longer fit but I have clothes in smaller sizes that I’m wearing though many are not really my style anymore so I’m looking forwards to buy new clothes when I get to my target.
My waist is still big though it’s soft, it’s still the biggest part of my body so I’m hoping with the remaining, I’ll lose most of it though when I wear a dress and wear a waist trainer, you won’t even know I have the waist.
@TimeToLoseItAll , I won’t be getting maintenance jabs, I’ll be going without with all the lifestyle changes I’ve made. However, I have a mentality now that I’m glad MJ is now around as I’ll qualify for MJ with a BMI of 27.5 due to my ethnicity, If I struggle to keep the weight off, I’ll get back on it asap, not wait till I have too much to lose.

TimeToLoseItAll · 01/01/2025 20:23

Well done @Tohaveandtohold Twinning on the loss 😊 and you're nearly there too! 👏

I hear you on maintenance. For me, I aim to stay on maintenance because my meds will cause me to gain back the weight without MJ but i still have some time before i get there.

Clocking in with an update.

So still on Wegovy - week 15. Slow to build up the dose as the tiredness hits hard but getting there. Slow and steady. Hopefully my Shotsy photo will attach with the stats.

CagneyNYPD1 · 04/01/2025 21:39

A big thing for me post Christmas is that I didn't overeat. No "Sod it, it's Christmas moments". I still ate my favourite foods but not to excess.

Japril · 15/01/2025 06:40

I need advice. I restarted Mounjaro at the lowest dose as I stopped before I reached my goal and was putting weight back on. I did one month at 2.5mg and am now on my 2nd month at 5mg. I am finding it isn’t as effective for me anymore and I have actually managed to eat through it and am back at the same weight as I was 3 months ago 🤦‍♀️ (75.7kg whereas I was 73.4kg before Christmas so it isn’t loads but it is still annoying!). I have my final 5mg dose tomorrow and was then going to order 7.5mg and hope that works!
