Thread for those with less than 30kg to lose

TimeToLoseItAll · 11/10/2024 11:42

I've not seen a thread for this group so decided to make one. Thread is for anyone who has 30kg or less to lose. It also doesn't matter if you already lost some on MJ and are now at or below 30kg.

I had 30kg to lose, now lost a total of 7kg. Will be doing by bonus dose this sunday; hoping to lose another 3kg by the end of the 5th week but will be happy with 1kg loss. Every little helps!

You can also just post with this template

Goal weightloss:
Current loss:
Total loss:
Left to lose:

(Feel free to use metric or imperial. I use metric because of my scales and i find it easier to visualise):

Mine is:
Goal weightloss: 30kg
Current loss: 2.5kg
Total loss: 7kg
Left to lose: 23kg

Feel free to post, share and support each other as we keep going! xx

Bump. Hope others in the same weight boat will find this thread. I've seen a few scattered here and there on different threads. 🙂

👋 Not sure if you have been around the injections board for long. The way things have organically developed over the last few months since the topic was created is there tends to be 3 types of threads running. There is the main thread which is fantastic for an intro, especially the links in the intro post. Then there is monthly threads for the month people started in. Then those with >30kgs, who are probably going to be on this longer term have started a little thread of their own.

I tend to feel most at home with the folks on the >30kgs thread as we have different experiences to those <30kgs, I lurk and post occasionally on the June thread as I started then/like to see how everyone is doing, I occasionally read some of the main thread but its a bit fast moving to keep up with regularly.

You might find others who are <30kgs are the same and have found a home with either the main thread or one of the monthly threads and are sticking there. If you are in week 5 have you tried out one of the September thread(s)? 💗

Oh and there is a fourth thread dedicated for discount codes and referrals which should not be posted anywhere else or MNHQ will remove them. This is because in the beginning the board was just flooded with referral codes.

Hi @WeAllHaveWings 👋😊

Thanks for dropping by and for your lovely post. Yes I've read around and still doing so. A wonderful board this place is for sure. Like you, I also feel more at home with people who have similar weight to lose, although the monthly threads are inspirational (I tend to read all of the different months just to see where different people are. I even recognise some names on them now 😁).

I saw the >30 thread and a >40 one too but felt like an imposter when I have 30 and less to lose especially now that I only have 27kg left. I skimmed and didn't see many in my weight range there too but I've seen them in different threads talking about it (I'm not sure we're that many anyway). So I felt its only fair (for lack of a better word) to start a less than 30kg thread so we don't clog up the others with what feels like a smaller amount to lose, you see.

As I said already, I'm not sure there's that many of us in this category on this board but happy to leave this space for anyone in it or even anyone who's dropped low enough to feel okay to be part of the space. All welcome ❤

TimeToLoseItAll · 12/10/2024 19:59

I also saw on another thread, a poster saying they've received backlash on this board for having a smaller amount of weight to lose compared to others. Although I personally haven't seen that happen, I also decided it might help anyone who feels that way to have this space to share their shorter weight loss journey. ❤

All the best of luck with your journey! I don't really understand kg so have no clue where you're at 🤪

I've lost 38lbs with about 5lbs to go so am really excited!

There was a thread before for those with less to lose but I tend to hang out on the 'main thread' more.

🤣 Sorry. You're very welcome to use lbs.

27kg to go = 59.5lbs to go.
Lost a total of 7kg = 15.4lbs

Well done on your loss. 👏Wow! Can't wait to be near the end of my journey too. I didn't see the thread, will have to search again.

I use google to convert the measurements.

Oh ffs! It's 23kg = 50.7lbs to go, not 27kg. Been mixing 7 with 27. Can't edit now.

Hi! Im keen for extra support!

I’m aiming to loose 15 kgs. I’ve lost 1kg already, and I took the injection 48 hours ago (though started tracking calories a few days earlier).

My BMI is 31, and my target weight is actually a BMI of 26. I will hopefully re-set my target if I get there!

I’m doing well with symptoms, though I’m trying to make good food choices, taking my IBS meds and drinking teapigs peppermint and liquorice tea.

I've the tail end of a nasty cold, so do feel
a but tired and grotty. And we have friends staying this weekend, and obv they don’t know I’m taking the meds (just saying I’m trying to eat healthier and not yet feeling 100%).

I wouldn’t say I have a dramatic appetite suppression, but I am finding it much, much easier to stick to my daily calories. Especially when there’s temptation around.

TimeToLoseItAll · 12/10/2024 22:02

Welcome @Vegemite123 and well done on your loss! 1kg in 2 days is great. You'll be on your way soon. 😊. Hope you feel much better tomorrow.Flowers

Hi! I’m glad you made this thread. It’s a great idea. I remember when I posted my stats on a thread a while ago, some posters were surprised I was eligible for MJ and I had comments saying I was tiny. It’s good to have a place for people with less to lose to be able to chat, I don’t want others to feel like they’re “behind” if they have more to lose and I do think the experience may be different.

Goal weightloss: 26kg
Total loss: 12.2kg
Left to lose: 13.8kg

I’m almost at the halfway mark and my BMI is getting closer to the healthy range. I’m actually hoping to complete MJ in January. My goal is a bit loose - I’m not super fussed about the exact kg I end up at, as long as the stubborn areas start to shift! I plan on weight lifting and building muscle so I’m sure the exact numbers will fluctuate x

well done on your progress!

TimeToLoseItAll · 13/10/2024 08:09

Welcome to the thread @eeeeeeeee 😊 Thanks for your lovely post. Congrats on your weightloss - you're almost there! 💪 xx

@TimeToLoseItAll thanks so much for setting up this thread!
I did the second injection yesterday. Starting BMI 32.
SW - 74.1kg
CW - 71.8kg
GW - 55kg

Fisrt week was ok with side effects such as tiredness, feeling cold, body aches were main issues. Suppression started to drop off after about day 3 or 4. Hoping I’ll be less tired this week!

TimeToLoseItAll · 13/10/2024 09:52

Welcome @EdgyPeachPoet and well done on your loss😊

I too felt really tired and cold during the first few weeks. Not so much now but that cold feeling - nothing like it! 🥶

@TimeToLoseItAll thank you! Are you in your first month of MJ? X

eeeeeeeee · 13/10/2024 18:56

@EdgyPeachPoet wow I think we are twins, that was my starting weight and BMI so I’m guessing we’re of similar height. I’m going to keep losing after I hit healthy BMI though, as my BMI used to be around 20-23 before and I looked better for it

Hi @eeeeeeeee! Wow that’s a nice coincidence 😃 how are you getting on? I’m hoping to lose as much as I can and get to a healthy BMI 🤞🏼

eeeeeeeee · 13/10/2024 19:35

@EdgyPeachPoet a lovely coincidence! I’m making decent progress - I weigh 61.5kg now and I started MJ in August. I’m in my 10th week and currently taking 7.5mg. It’s been an uneventful journey pretty much, although my progress did stall at around 66-65kg. I’m guessing that was a “set point” for my body.

You’re making great progress too especially only 2 injections in!

Yes. 😊 I'm in the 5th week of my first pen. Jabbed my bonus dose today. Won't be weighing again till next Sunday when I start my 5mg pen. Hope I can be patient till then. Ha!

You're way ahead of me xx

@eeeeeeeee Thanks so much for sharing and well done on your fantastic progress! It’s really inspiring for me - 61kg by the New Year would be an absolute dream for me 😀

eeeeeeeee · 13/10/2024 20:49

Oh thank you @EdgyPeachPoet
MJ has definitely been life changing for me! But weirdly I can’t see much difference in my figure yet! My arms/thighs are so stubborn to shift weight.

@TimeToLoseItAll ahh so excited for you! I had the biggest losses at the beginning of my MJ treatment. How have you found 2.5mg so far, any side effects? Xx

TimeToLoseItAll · 13/10/2024 21:00

@eeeeeeeee Side effects have been feeling too tired and cold, period starting and lasting for atleast a week when I no longer get it but it's stopped now and I hope it doesn't come back on again. I've read a few people have experienced this on MJ. I know they said the meds affect the efficiency of oral contraceptives so I wasn't surprised.

Also had the odd heart palpitation about 3 different times over the first 2 weeks but taking my prescription anti-anxiety med cleared it up and it's not happened again so far. Had stomach cramps off and on for a few days but my ibs meds stopped them once taken.

I'm hoping 5mg will result in bigger losses but I'm still happy with anything. Fingers crossed on side effects x

Have you had different side effects from 5mg compared to 2.5mg? Also any benefits in comparison?

Thank you for creating this thread.

I’m also under the 30kg mark and I’m interested to know what people are doing once they reach their goal weight? I moved to oushk for pen no3, so I have the option of their maintenance plan. I have some big life events coming up next year and although I’ve changed my diet and exercise, I am worried about gaining some weight back.

SW - 77kg
CW - 66kg
GW - 57kg ish

TimeToLoseItAll · 14/10/2024 13:36

Welcome @MJ321 😊 Happy to have you here! I think if your problem is diet and exercise and you stick to what you're currently doing on Mounjaro, I doubt you'd gain weight back. Even if you do, it would be very little, leaving space for weight fluctuations. X

Afternoon all,

I'm on Wegovy rather than MJ due to past thyroid issues. So weight loss will be slower and less dramatic. Just coming up to the end of the 4th week.

My stats are:

Goal weight: 150lbs/68kg
Starting weight: 206lb/92.4kg
Aiming to lose: 56lb/24.4kg
Lost so far: 8lb
Still to go: 48lb

I'm 5"7 so anything below 150lb and I will probably look a tad unwell. Although it has been a long time since I have hit that weight so, who knows?

Am aiming for target weight around Easter time. Slow and steady will suit me just fine.

I am really happy on Wegovy thus far. A bit of tiredness and a few other side effects but nothing too bad.

Good luck everyone.
