Thread for those with less than 30kg to lose

TimeToLoseItAll · 11/10/2024 11:42

I've not seen a thread for this group so decided to make one. Thread is for anyone who has 30kg or less to lose. It also doesn't matter if you already lost some on MJ and are now at or below 30kg.

I had 30kg to lose, now lost a total of 7kg. Will be doing by bonus dose this sunday; hoping to lose another 3kg by the end of the 5th week but will be happy with 1kg loss. Every little helps!

You can also just post with this template

Goal weightloss:
Current loss:
Total loss:
Left to lose:

(Feel free to use metric or imperial. I use metric because of my scales and i find it easier to visualise):

Mine is:
Goal weightloss: 30kg
Current loss: 2.5kg
Total loss: 7kg
Left to lose: 23kg

Feel free to post, share and support each other as we keep going! xx

Back to report. I lost another 1.5kg this week. Happy to have started my 5mg pen today. I jabbed a few hours ago and still feeling okay.

Sharing a photo of my empty 2.5mg pen - my new life saver and the start of all the other life savers to come 😄

Total loss: 8.5kg
Left to lose: 21.5kg

How's everyone doing?

How did you manage to force the final dose out?!
I am in a tricky situation, I started Mounjaro in January at 88kg, got down to 74kg and had to stop taking it because I can’t really afford it. I am now 76kg (in 6 weeks) and gutted that I am going to put the weight back on. I really want to restart and taper off it properly but am worried that no company will let me because my BMI is now 28 and I don’t have any other health problems. My orginal prescriber isn’t coming back to me, does anyone have a company they would recommend? Ideally I would stay on it until I get to 63kg (did I mention I really can’t afford it!).

TimeToLoseItAll · 20/10/2024 09:50

@Japril

I forced it to budge with my teeth, then twisted with my hand as usual. It's like when you're opening a lid (say a baby meal pouch, fizzy drink bottle, etc) for the first time, sometimes it can take a bit more force with hand or teeth just to loosen before it becomes easier to twist. Some people have used pliers to force it to loosen and I'd have done so too if teeth didn't work or was difficult. It was easy to do and took a few seconds.

I'm sorry you're having problems with continuing. There are some providers who'll take more information about your situation and they decide on a case by case basis. Perhaps try different providers' consultation and use the additional information area (or any part of the answer boxes available) to explain things in detail for them. I really think at least one of them will be happy to allow you continue especially as you're putting the weight back on.

You can also call or message pharmacies first to ask their prescriber and see which ones would tell you to go ahead and apply before you do.

These websites have a list of prescribers with and without discounts, you can start with the cheaper ones first.

Hello everybody!

Trying to find the thread for me - hopefully this'll work.

I've set my goal at 10kg but trying to be realistic. 15kg would be amazing.

Took my first Wegovy injection 3 days ago

SW 90kg
CW 89kg
GW 80kg (75 would be amazing).

Had two good days - immediate appetite suppression and no side effects. Today I had a headache and was also quite hungry, but I think that might be because I ate so little the past two days.

trying to remember I must exercise. I feel quite energetic as I guess I'm basically somewhat in fasting mode, so I'm optimistic I'll do it. But I do need this headache to go.

Regarding the prescribers refusing, I reckon I'd use a different email address and create a new account and upload an old photo....

Try Oushk. I don't know if they would let you re-start, but they are quite responsive and they also have three maintenance plans.

Japril · 20/10/2024 16:57

@Adelstrop great shout. Oushk have let me sign up. I now need to try really hard to get into good habits rather than just eating less crap!

Vegemite123 · 20/10/2024 18:55

Im a week and a half in, and have had a rough phase - tail end of a cold, that “hungry” phase of my cycle, stress at work, another drama and NOW I have another sodding cold (completely lost my voice. But but but - normally all of that would result in loads of additional comfort eating. But I’ve stuck to my calorie allowance, and there is no way I’d have been ever managed that without Mounjaro.

SW: 90 kg
CW: 85.5
GW (1): 79.9
GW (2): 74

I’m feeling quite grotty today, though. And struggling to think if interesting things to eat.

TimeToLoseItAll · 26/10/2024 22:33

Lost another 1kg this week. Seems kind of steady though I wish it was more but I'll take it.

Tomorrow is jab day. 2nd week of 5mg.

Total loss: 9.5kg
Left to lose: 20.5kg

Afternoon all,

I'm on Wegovy rather than MJ due to past thyroid issues. So weight loss will be slower and less dramatic. Just coming up to the end of the 4th week.

My stats are:

Goal weight: 150lbs/68kg
Starting weight: 206lb/92.4kg
Aiming to lose: 56lb/24.4kg
Lost so far: 8lb
Still to go: 48lb

I'm 5"7 so anything below 150lb and I will probably look a tad unwell. Although it has been a long time since I have hit that weight so, who knows?

Am aiming for target weight around Easter time. Slow and steady will suit me just fine.

I am really happy on Wegovy thus far. A bit of tiredness and a few other side effects but nothing too bad.

Good luck everyone.

So I took my 6th jab on Friday. First one at 0.5 on Wegovy. Have lost a total of 11lbs so far. Slow and steady suits me.

I took some photos of me 4 weeks ago and have just taken another set to compare. I can definitely see a difference around the tummy. And my jeans are looserGrin

Food noise is much quieter and still

CagneyNYPD1 · 27/10/2024 09:29

Oops, pressed post too soon.

Food noise is quieter and still choosing healthier options. But I don't feel deprived in any way which is a massive difference.

Good luck all.

One stone down! While I work in kgs, nutracheck pinged me a congratulations this morning :) Really glad to have this milestone as I've felt like my loss has slowed this week (although I am 1kg in the last 7 days, so really can't complain).

I'm 4 1/2 weeks in, and considering staying on 2.5. It's controlling my cravings enough to help me stay in calorie deficit. I've only gone over once! I eat most of my exercise calories, and so am around 1100 - 1400 a day.

SW: 90 kgs
CW: 83.1 kgs
TW: 72 kgs

Congratulations @Vegemite123 on the 1-stone milestone! Well done 😃

I’m 4 weeks in and have stayed on 2.5mg for my 5th dose. Wasn’t able to extract 5th bonus dose - managed to hard twist but plunger wouldn’t push down! Luckily had a new 2.5 pen in fridge.
l’ve lost 9 lbs so far - wish it was a bit more! But feeling grateful that I’ve lost some weight at least.

almondmilk123 · 03/11/2024 12:05

Three weeks in on 0.25 wegovy and have defintely lost appetite but don't seem to have lost much weight. Maybe I was fatter than I realised when i started - I was avoiding the scales, I have to say.

SW 90kg (but maybe it was more)
CW 89.5-90.5kg

Anybody else had a slow start?

9 pounds is still great, though. A healthy, slower loss is good. I was a bit freaked out when I lost a lot in the first two weeks. Was actually worried about people noticing, and loose skin and wot not.

The last time I made a good job of loosing weight (via Jane Plan) I didn’t weigh myself for a month. I was too scared! So your loss may well be more than you think?

Until today, I had neaely 6 days of bugger all. But I’d done loads more walking (average is usually 7.5k steps, and it’s 12 this week) so I wonder if it was muscle.

basically - don’t be disheartened! Trust the process.

Vegemite123 · 03/11/2024 17:59

LOSING weight! Doh.

Vegemite123 · 04/11/2024 10:49

Dammit, half a kg on today. Yesterday was the first day in 4 weeks I didn’t track, and while I didn’t go overboard, I did have a few drinks. Hoping it’s just fluid and it’ll be gone tomorrow. I’m also feeling a bit hungry, so maybe it’s a sign that I need to go up to the 5mg after all.

CagneyNYPD1 · 04/11/2024 11:12

7 weeks in for me. Was going well but half term last week derailed me bit. Too many lunches/dinners out. But my motivation has kicked back in much quicker than it would normally do after a rocky week.

Took my 2nd dose of Wegovy 0.5 Friday evening and it didn't seem to kick in over the weekend. But has definitely kicked in now. Back to feeling nauseous again.

Determined to have a good week so that I get back on track. One good thing about paying for this prescription is that it does seem to give me that extra motivation to keep trying as it's too much money too waste over bad food choices.

You could be right @Vegemite123 that your body is ready to move up a dose. I was nervous to jump from 0.25 to 0.5 in one go so did a week at 0.37. That worked week.

eeeeeeeee · 04/11/2024 14:35

Hi again everyone! I’m really enjoying this little thread. Congratulations on the successes!

I’m going to start week 13 on Thursday. I think my weight loss journey seems to have slowed right down, I’m in the swing of things to the extent I’m finding MJ a bit tedious.

My current measurements are:
Goal weightloss: 26kg
Total loss: 14kg
Left to lose: 12kg

I started at 74kg & now weigh 60kg (5ft tall). In a weird way, I am excited to wake up tomorrow and see if my weight begins with a 5 instead of a 6! That’s a big milestone for me. I haven’t seen that on the scales since 2022 I believe!

I was hoping to complete MJ in 2024, but I may need it for a few months in the new year. I agree about slower losses being more sustainable though, I did worry about loose skin/stretch marks initially but I’m not concerned as much now my progress has slowed.

Thanks Vegemite - I was down to 89.05 this morning so v pleased with that. i want to lose slowly, but I do want to lose! 1kg in 2 weeks (and prob more as I think I was lying to myself about 90kg) is about right.

Sorry for your half kg - definitely something a few drinks can do. It's the kind of scales fluctuation that may not mean anything.

I'm struggling with a bit of impatience for the miracle, but awareness that if I leave my metabolism dizzy in the slipstream of the injection, rather than teasing it along with me, it will all backslide as soon as I stop. It might backslide anyway, but it feels like slow and steady will give me a better chance of actually changing my set point.
