Hi all,

I previously had gastric bypass surgery in 2020 and lost 15st. I did the surgery so I could get pregnant, and in 2023 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. With the pregnancy I gained 7st 😵

So now, I'm looking to apply everything I learned with my surgery (high protein, low carb, chew for 1 min etc) to Mounjaro and hopefully lose this weight again.

Anyone with me?

Height is 5'6
Weight 20st 4lb

Goal 1: 15st
Goal 2: 12st

12st was the lowest I got down to before I became pregnant and that suited my body and my frame. I'm not sure I'll get down that low again, but I hope I will!

Would love some buddies on my journey :)

@electrongirl that’s brilliant, well done!

not much suppression for me this week, but disappointing but I’m holding out to see what 5mg will do before i decide if I keep going or not. Hopefully I’ll see an effect then.

Second dose of 2.5 just now and I didn’t bleed at all and now I’ve convinced myself it didn’t go in 😩 not that there’s any liquid on my skin or anything but the one last week bled. Anyone else had a phantom injection site??

None of my injection sites bled at all, nor did I feel anything, so I'm sure you'll be ok x

HanarCantWearSweaters · 29/07/2024 13:28

Thank you @ACEwards that makes me feel better! You know when you just get worked up over something silly even though logically you know it was ok 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’d just be gutted if I missed a dose cause I’m not feeling much effect anyway as it is atm

ACEwards · 29/07/2024 15:56

@HanarCantWearSweaters I know exactly what you mean! I'm only on week 2 and suppression is less than my first week. I think my anxiety about injecting something into my body made me not eat and feel more unwell than maybe I actually was... man this stuff messes with your brain LOL. I don't know whats a side effect and what's me being actually unwell - I'm a mess hahaha

I posted this elsewhere but I now need to decide on whether to stay on 2.5 or move to 5. 3 weeks in and little side effects - bowels are slow and a touch of nausea. What is everyone else doing?

I'm only on week one and had 2 days of quite rough side effects! I feel better now, fairly normal. Definitely getting full a lot quicker and not craving foods as much.

But I was thinking I'll see how it's going in terms of results and if I've not lost much weight I'll order 0.5 for the next round and hope side effects are no worse.
So, I'd go by what results you're seeing. You can always go back to 0.25 if you struggle with more side effects at 0.5.
But maybe 0.25 is enough for you for now if you are seeing results.

I've had similar, limited side effects, but I've also found the suppression started to wear off after 5-6 days. I think I'm going to go up to 5 when I next order and see what happens.

I’ve just weighed in after my first week and lost 9 lb. Really pleased I think I might need to eat a bit more this week as I think I’ve been under eating. I’m to get the calories in there so I’ve bought a smoothie maker so I can make ice cold smoothies with frozen fruit. Should help me be more regular too!!

I'd be so like this!
Did you do it???

No! I didn’t do it… I really can’t handle the needle, so drove round to my besties house who jabbed it in my leg no problem! 😂 She’s just been around today to administer the second dose!
I even spent £15 on lidocaine 🤦‍♀️

CheapMustard · 01/08/2024 01:01

The acid reflux! Horrendous. Week 2, 1st night. I noticed it on the first night of week one, but week 2 it’s awful! Anyone else?

GlitteringUnicorn · 03/08/2024 07:31

4kg down in 2weeks
Jab 3 coming up
No symptoms now as long as I eat carefully
Very little hunger
Perfect!

scoobs321 · 03/08/2024 08:25

Nearly at the end of my 2nd week, 1st week I lost 6.5lb which I'm happy with. Suppression I'm not sure about, is it the drug or only partially and I'm being careful too. I do feel some Suppression but not to the extent that I can't eat anything. Sometimes I want to have a snack but can't decide what I fancy so I don't bother.

No sides effects apart from a couple of instances of nighttime acid reflux when I ate too close to bed time. But I get that anyway except it was more pronounced on a smaller amount of food.

Reading about getting the 5th dose out but not sure I'll going to try it. I've been priming my needle at each use and feel happy to continue doing that.

PutThatDownNow · 03/08/2024 08:34

I haven't checked in for a while. Side effects ok, a little nausea and one day of not-quite-diarrhoea.

But also v slow weight loss. Only 7lb so far. I know that I need to start moving more. Laid up with covid right now so that won't help with moving. Will do once I am back on my feet.

TurtleNest · 05/08/2024 09:06

I'm a week and a half in, and I've lost 2kg already! I could cry with happiness, as I've been dieting since the start of the year and only lost 3kg in that whole time. I was even on holiday last week, so not eating quite as healthily as normal, and having the odd glass of wine!

I've had a few side effects, but nothing horrific. A bit of constipation, and one episode of the opposite. After eating, I'm also getting what I think is a bit of reflux in the back of my throat which is slightly uncomfortable. Rennie doesn't seem to help, so I might get some Gaviscon to see if that eases it.

I've also been having a weird side effect where my mouth feels tender - like I've drunk something too hot and slightly scalded it. Not quite sure what to do about that! It seems worse when I brush my teeth, I think due to the minty toothpaste, so I might try a different one that isn't as strongly flavoured.
