It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

I woke up this morning feeling ravenous and panicking that Mounjaro had stopped working for me.

Ate a small yogurt.
Felt full.

Stopped panicking 😆

ACEwards · 05/08/2024 19:03

This is what I'm like at the moment. 2 weeks of not being able to look at food and now I'm staring in my fridge all day... despite there being nothing I actually want 😂

I'm wondering how exactly is Mounjaro supposed to make you feel 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I'm definitely picking less and getting fuller quicker, but I kind of miss not wanting food as it made my life choices so much easier 😂

Just catching up on the past week - well done every one some fantastic losses in there! I fell off the wagon a bit at the weekend. I weighed Friday and had stayed the same ☹️ then didn't take the 4th dose Friday as I had plans over the weekend and totally over indulged in food and alcohol ate lots of junk but less than I would have with a normal MJ free hangover. My head was pounding. I've just took my 4th dose and I am planning to weigh as normal on Friday then do what's left of the pen! If anyone has any codes please send as I cancelled my Voy. Hoping to stay on 2.5mg scared of the fatigue... wishing everyone a great week 🤗

Wishthiswasntmypost · 05/08/2024 22:06

I've fallen off the wagon foodwise. Not horrific... protein yoghurt and fruit breakfast, 3 small scones snacks...and dinner was just a small piece of chicken.

So another thing I've learned is I struggle with food waste. Because we have food left over from the weekend I can't bear to see it spoil, go stale etc so I ate 3 scones... Part of this process is helping me identify when and what makes me overeat

That isn't terrible at all I devoured half of McDonald's yesterday the guilt is real. I get what you mean with regards to waste my dog gets the extras where permitted 😂

I would definitely not describe this as overeating, if anything it sounds too restrictive to me 🤷‍♀️

I've only got a Voy code

joinvoy.com/r/U-DrWvmHn1sY

But there's a new thread that's just discount codes and referrals with a billion options,

I also saw a local aesthetician selling mounjaro wegovy and oxen pic today. I think she's a prescribing nurse but it still took me by surprise a bit.

Not much food there.
Maybe getting into a habit if freezing it so it's out of sight out of mind? Or taking it to work/family etc.
work is the ultimate dumping ground for January naughty food detox for me. Grin

Grrrrrrr week 4 and I'm stuck again. Still no new weight loss
all I had was max 1200
Cals and I swam 30 mins. How can this be?

ToriMJ · 06/08/2024 08:32

Water retention ? Muscle mass? Period due?
Have you worked out your tdee?

OP posts:
HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 06/08/2024 08:38

@ToriMJ

Thanks tori

Just Did my tdee and I should
Be Losing .5 kilo on my
Cals

Normal tdee 1788
Loose slowly 1500
Loose .5 kilo a week 1200

I'm well within that most days

I am constipated tho. So I think I need to try tackle that issue

When I started I was bmi 30 and I wasn't sure they would accept Me however I have raised blood pressure and higher cholesterol so they did

But now I wonder if
My Body is trying to hang on to the last bit as I only have 6 kg to a healthy
Bmi Now

I really want to get
It off tho as I've never been that low since my wedding in 2004!!!

Most of the weight is in my middle and it's hard to get trousers to fit

ToriMJ · 06/08/2024 08:38

Week 4 injection today (I'm Tuesdays now as I missed a Monday due to holiday)

SW 14st -5 ft 3- BMI 35.2
CW 13st 1.2 BMI 32.9
GW 10st BMI 25
Week 1 -6 lbs

Week 2 -3.2 lbs
Week 3 -3.9 lbs
Total lost 12.8 lbs

I'm usually the slowest loser as slimming world, chipping away a pound a week while losing the will so this is absolutely mind blowing to me.

I'm still doing 800-900 cals a day and no junk food with no temptation.

Ah yes it's always much harder as you get very close. You are so nearly there that either you'll have to accept a steady 1lb a week or go hard core calorie deficit, depending on which feels least rubbish to you. Or maybe add in a fast/couple of fast days if you wanted to speed it up to save some £ on the mj. It's frustrating but I'd take it to trade to being nearly at my goal Grin

Has anyone else bruised at the injection site? I noticed this morning I've got a big bruise from yesterday and wondered why as I didn't do anything different to normal!?

Aitchtee · 06/08/2024 09:15

I’m doing injection 4 tomorrow and I’ve ordered the 5mg for moving up. I’m worried that I’ve made the wrong decision though as I’m losing fine and I do have some symptoms so maybe I should have just stayed on the 2.5 😭

gimmemounjaro · 06/08/2024 09:26

@Aitchtee It might be a more expensive way of doing it, but you can always just take half the dose if you feel 5mg is too much.

Last week I did, although I double stabbed as I'd missed a bit

I think you'll be fine and that is what they recommend.
If moneys not an issue and you really don't want to go up yet you could always keep the 5 in the fridge for later and order a 2.5mg.

I've noticed there is deffo a full dose left in the 2.5 pen so I'm going to try the hard twist next week to get that dose

Yes I keep going back to that- this is the planned dosage. I’ll try the 5 and see how I get on!

I’ve ordered the 5 for my second pen. Technically only the 5,10 & 15 (?) have been licensed for maintenance in the UK (I read this on the ZAVA site) so I’m hoping to make things easiest in the long term by following the expected pathway. Hopefully a couple of months of 5 will be enough for me to get to goal and start maintaining.

4th injection today (and 5th in the post) so here’s where I’m up to:

I put my height in at 168cm but it’s entirely possible I have started shrinking due to age. May get my tallest child to measure me against the door frame later 😆

SW: 85kg (BMI 30.1)
CW: 79kg (BMI 28)
GW: 70kg - 65kg (BMI between 24.8-23)

so 6kg (13lbs) loss in 3 weeks

I have lost weight this fast before but it was almost 15 years ago and I was post partum and breastfeeding (which gave me an enormous amount of extra WeightWatchers points 🤣)
Nowadays I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the injectable help.

(I had a jaw surgery a week before starting which in some ways has made it particularly easy to not eat crap/given me some plausible cover for the weight loss, however I can deffo eat normally again now so can’t rely on that for help anymore! Also I started HRT two months ago after really struggling with peri symptoms for several years. Starting to feel a lot more like my old self)

Marmalade100 · 06/08/2024 10:36

Morning - on 12 pounds loss today..last 2,5 injection this Friday. I decided to move to Zava from Voy as it's much cheaper but it's really hard to get them to approve. My BMI is now borderline overweight not just obese, I had to send them so many photos including my digital scales 2 week results to show my initial starting weight and the box with the 2.5 prescription to prove my original weight. Just a heads up for anyone who's thinking of moving. Might be easier to do whilst you're a bit heavier.. took a week to approve and finally agreed yesterday.
