As i understand it...

Wegovy is a superior ozempic.
Mounjaro is the daddy.

CornishTeaTime · 02/06/2024 23:25

Im considering...what are the cimmon side effects of both?

CarerNC · 03/06/2024 10:14

Hi, I've been on ozempic for quite a while and had a very similar experience to @dottyp0104
My Dr has just decided to switch me to Mounjaro so I'd be really interested if anyone has any experience of the difference.

I've had manageable side effects, much better than effects of being even heavier than now (still over 30 BMI). The most tricky for me is fatigue, does anyone know if Mounjaro is known for that?

Gastric side effects for me, (not severe and not constant) nausea, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn.

CornishTeaTime · 03/06/2024 10:23

So reading up....seriously your food craving/want for food literally switches off?

Snipples · 03/06/2024 10:26

I've been taking wegovy and yes, cravings just switch off. It's like food is no longer of interest, I'm just not hungry and not tempted to snack. To the point where I was picking meals out on hello fresh and I wasn't even bothered as they all look exactly the same to me!

CornishTeaTime · 03/06/2024 11:56

I saw a pic of Sarah Ferguson at the weekend and she looks amazing. Of course she has been extremely poorly and I understand that could have caused the weight loss but she looked glowing and so very slim, I wondered if she had been on anything,

@CornishTeaTime Yip! You literally do not think about food. I'm a nurse and start at 6am. Normally by 9am I'm ready for breakfast. Now I'm getting home at 4pm and realising I've forgot to eat.
When you do eat you can only eat reasonable portions. No chance of over eating. I didn't change my diet massively as I need to be able to sustain it when I come off MJ so I eat what my family do for dinner, just much less.
It's soo hard to explain to others until you experience it.
Minor side effects which wear off quickly as you go up the doses x

@PinkBubblesxx
Mounjaro. I tried Saxenda previously but supplies run low. Switched to Mounjaro.

Mounjaro - At no point was informed I would receive an out of date product - it arrived yesterday with expiry date in May 24 - so disappointed as I paid a lot of money. I dont know hat to do now?😥 from Medi express

dottyp0104 · 26/06/2024 11:26

@Kimmie08
Not sure if you have found the information yet, sorry not read back in the post, the Mounjaro pens had the expiry dates extended after further review after they were released. The pharmacies were putting a note from Lilley the manufacturer detailing this but think they may be forgetting some. They are extended to October. If you are on any of the Facebook groups you can search for the document (has batch numbers) to put your mind at rest. Poor communication from the pharmacy but the pen is good to use

What side affects have uou had

penfold81 · 16/07/2024 08:06

I have not suffered any side effects on the 2.5g starting dose. Not sure if that will be the same as I keep moving up the doses though as I’ve heard that’s when the side effects really kick in
