@Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate i hope you’re ok. I agree that you’ll probably end up with a dodgy tummy and possibly feeling/being sick as that is quite a hefty jump. Or you might get lucky and just have massive appetite suppression and escape the awful side effects.

Try not to worry too much, I’m sure you will be fine. Everyone’s advice re eating/drinking is good… just monitor how you feel and if you feel horrendous then get some proper medical advice.

Keep us posted x

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 08/06/2024 14:18

Aww bless you. I've had to explain to my DS 16 that this is how mum has lost so much weight. Just so he knows that I will be feeling iffy. Plus just me and him in the house. Have managed to make him the most enormous chicken pasta salad to keep him going at least!

Found an unopened packet of Cheerios so have had a few of these with lots of milk, and drinking water.
Just feel tired and not at all hungry though I'm sure there is more to come!

DamnItBetsy · 08/06/2024 19:05

How are you feeling now @Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate ?

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 08/06/2024 20:53

Well @DamnItBetsy I appear to be ok so far, although tired...wondering what will happen tomorrow, although I expected to feel very rough today. I have drunk as much water as I can, but not eaten much! I've just had what I fancied to make sure I've had something x

Maybe it’ll be ok then? I usually find my side effects kick in quite quick, maybe 10/12 hours. Fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated though. I wonder if your appetite will be so suppressed you’ll be forcing yourself to eat.

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 09/06/2024 09:02

Quick update. I feel fine and have forced a small amount of food down.
Praying I have got off lightly, although given the nausea I had at the start of taking Wegovy I am doubtful.
Having at least 2 weeks off after this as I know it stays in your system for a while x

PrimalLass · 09/06/2024 09:09

That's good news.

ImPunbelievable · 09/06/2024 10:02

That is good news thislittlepiggy!

I did not lose any weight this week which seems to happen whenever I extend the time between doses, weirdly.

I need to stop doing it though as 10 days between 1.7mgs leaves me so sick when I do take it. A morning of throwing up was not needed as I'm travelling today.

I can highly recommend splitting your dose in two.

Striving4Better · 09/06/2024 15:59

Went to a party yesterday and ATE! No appetite suppressant whatsoever. I've been on 0.5mg for three weeks after quite a while doing 0.37 and think I'll up it to 0.75 tonight. I've plateaued since mid-April, up and down the same couple of pounds. I have another party next week, and though a pause in weight loss is probably good, I need up get back to losing.

So above is the short version. The longer version is I haven't posted in a while. I was obsessed with Wegovy at the beginning, but my attention drifted. I had a weekend away which derailed my eating habits, I was late with an injection one and didn't go up a dose when I should have.

I've lost almost 1.5 stones since starting mid-January. I'm now overweight (not obese) and need to drop another two stone to be at my happy weight (BMI 22ish). I think this is going to take me longer than I had originally planned, so was hoping to stop buying pens soon (I have a few in the fridge!), but looks like I'll need to keep spending.

Striving4Better · 09/06/2024 16:31

Afterthought: Might stick to 0.5 tonight, as will be 4th week then maybe give myself a boost before the party by taking next jab early or having an extra 0.25. Totally not the guidelines, I know, but I ate a lot yesterday. Someone put a tub of cheesy puffs in front of me and I just ate them. There was also the lemoncello incident...

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 09/06/2024 20:40

@PrimalLass @DamnItBetsy
Spoke too soon!
I thought I had got off lightly.....although not surprised given the dose I took.
Hoping by tomorrow it will have eased x

PrimalLass · 09/06/2024 20:49

Oh no! Stomach issues? I hope it doesn't last too long.

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 09/06/2024 20:53

A bad headache followed by sickness. However feeling immediately better afterwards which is a bonus....
Even my son has said..Mum how did you manage to do that! He has been v sweet x

DamnItBetsy · 09/06/2024 21:08

@Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate oh no! Hope it passes tomorrow. Can’t imagine how I’d feel! I took 0.8mg last night (0.5mg was still working so don’t jump straight to 1.0mg) and can barely eat today.

UnicornAndSparkles · 10/06/2024 10:46

Hope you're ok @Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate , we've all done mindless things try not to worry. I was going to count clicks to get a 0.75 dose as I have had over the past 2 weeks, but started clicking, got distracted and ended up going for the full 1 dose. Not feeling too awful today fortunately. It knocked me for six the first time I did the 1 dose, so I tapered back to 0.75 for the following two weeks.

I've been tentatively looking at the moving on thread. Hoping to be off this drug by end of July. Maintenance seems hard without it though, but the tiredness, nausea and other side effects are starting to get tiresome.

BellyButt · 10/06/2024 14:00

Just to vent out as I can't say this elsewhere..

This is sooo embarrassing!

I am on the highest dose, will finish soon as I am bang on the middle of the healthy BMI. Sometimes, after eating dairy/milky stuff, my tummy rumbles, I feel bloated and uncomfortable, so usually I will avoid eating them.

So, over the weekend, I went cycling. Around 50km mark, I went to stop at a cafe, I drank some milky mocha, and continue cycling. My tummy grumbles, I couldn't find a toilet soon enough and for the first time in my adult life, I accidentally pooped in my cycling lycra!!! I dont know what I expect writing this here, but just a head up for those still early in the journey. Just be careful and plan your activities wisely and dont be like me.

PrimalLass · 10/06/2024 14:59

Coffee plus exercise - so it's not surprising! I've read a lot about similar on the Reddit threads.

PrimalLass · 10/06/2024 15:19

I get incredibly nervous when out on a dog walk too.

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 10/06/2024 15:19

Oh @BellyButt you poor thing 😔
Hope it was a circular trip and you didn't have 50km to go!!
I have given up everything except walking whilst on Wegovy. Did some sit ups at home and immediately had to dash to the loo, which has made me extra cautious.
Strangely this weekend I was going to go to the gym, before I messed my dose up!

Once I come off, hopefully in July/August, I will be stepping up the exercise.

@UnicornAndSparkles etc al...I am feeling almost 100% after an afternoon of sickness yesterday. My weight loss has been dramatic, though definitely NOT recommended 🙄 x

DamnItBetsy · 12/06/2024 07:24

I’ve still got 12lbs to go but I’m thinking of giving up. I’m so fed up of the constant exhaustion, nausea and knowing food will give me indigestion. I’m going on holiday in two weeks and don’t want to feel like this and ruin it. I feel like I’m constantly miserable.

AllBlackEverything · 12/06/2024 08:26

I was suffering with feeling tired a lot in the first few days after each injection, I've since had a vitamin B12 injection (privately, £25) and have noticed a big difference in energy levels.

Same here, I want to wean myself off wegovy and see if I can hold onto the healthy diet and lifestyle changes I've made. I've been on this for 11 weeks now and lost a good amount of weight and, more importantly, made some positive changes about awareness of what I eat, how it makes me feel and portion control.

Ideally I'd loose more, but am giving myself until Christmas to lose the final 2 stone, and will go it alone for the most part. Going on hol in 6 weeks. I've just ordered my last dose, stayed with the 1mg as it does seems to be doing the job.

6 more weeks and I'm done.

Do we have to wean off by tapering doses? I’ve only got as far as 0.8mg. I was thinking of just never doing another injection. Can I just do that or should I maybe take 0.4mg this week then none the next week? I really feel like I’m done. Work is really pressured just now and I can’t slack off, so all I’m managing is being in bed or at work, the house is a wreck, the kids are fending for themselves and eating freezer food, no washing is done, etc, etc.

DamnItBetsy · 14/06/2024 07:02

Weigh in day for me, and after suffering so much this week I’ve only lost 0.8lbs. When the side effects are bad - exhausted, nauseous, retching easily, indigestion - the thought of food turns my stomach and the only thing I can face are ‘bad’ carbs, so salty chips, crisps, cereal.

I think I’m done. I can’t keep doing this to myself and my family.
