Definitely makes financial sense to buy a bigger one and count clicks from it. I’m on 1mg currently but buy the 1.7mg pen as it works out less per mg.

For those of you who are winding down use of Wegovy - have you been buying lower dose pens, or counting clicks on the higher dose pens?

I am looking to begin weaning off in August, but tapering down slowly. I'm thinking that it may be more cost effective to continue buying higher dose pens and counting clicks.

Definitely buying my normal pen and click counting, much better value.

I count clicks on a higher pen. It saves money and the ack lasts longer!

I seem to be back on track after my starving week last week. Took a total of 1.0 last week in 2 doses, and just taken 0.75 this week. It hasn't knocked me out this time so I'm hoping to stay on 0.75 or go up to 1.0 next week. And I'm now not so hungry. So hopefully over the blip. And I also found some willpower.

For me, it's partly that I was just getting tired of being on a diet, and lost the willpower and appetite suppression at the same time. Another half stone and I can go holiday shopping, which will hopefully keep me going.

That's what I thought, I think I'll need to stock up for a couple of months, after working out my wind down and how much product I'll need to cover it.

12st7 today! I haven't seen a weight that low in several years! Am weighing everyday so I know that could go up again tomorrow, but it's a lovely feeling, isn't it?

@StaySpicy brilliant! Well done!!

Hi All,

I've been reading through the thread and am feeling so inspired - some fantastic achievements x

I started on wegovy two weeks ago at 0.25, I bought a 3 month supply from simple online pharmacy for £449 (0.25/0.5/1.0).

I have a lot of weight to lose so I'm setting my target weight at 10% of my SW, so it's challenging but not beyond the pale! I work a mixture of night shifts and long (13 hour) day shifts in the nhs, and so far I haven't really had any side effects - except I only 💩 about every 4-5 days! I've been shocked that I haven't been interested in the night shift toast/biscuits/patient gifts... I only weigh myself on the days I go to the loo, I'm going to class my weekly weigh as the last recorded weight before Thursday which is my injection day. I'm tracking my calorie intake on MyFitnessPal, out of interest more than anything else, it seems to be 13-1500 calories. I'm trying to increase my protein plus I'm taking a hair multivitamin.

CW 245.5
GW 227

Just seeing that number go down feels good - I'm trying to focus on the present rather than looking too far forward at this point as it would just feel too daunting, but it feels positive to be doing something x

DamnItBetsy · 31/05/2024 07:25

Weigh in day for me today

SW 12st 6
CW 11st 8
GW 10st 8

Its taken 8 weeks and I’m nearly half way there! :)

StaySpicy · 31/05/2024 08:57

Well done, @DamnItBetsy!

I'm thinking of upping to my 1mg dose a week early. I'm just not getting much in the way of results and don't feel like the appetite suppression is there. I'm really having to work hard to even get 1lb loss each week and it's quite dispiriting when people are losing a stone in the first month and things!

So, I'm due my 3rd 0.5mg tonight, so I'll take that, then I'm going to take a half dose maybe Tuesday next week then my first 1mg next Friday. Has anyone done something like this? Do you think it's an okay thing to do?

I'd be really grateful if you would do an update after your holiday.

My start weight, current weight and target are all similar to yours.

I am going on holiday in a few months and am also wondering if I can take a break for 2 weeks and then get back to it, or if I'll need a smaller dose to start back up. Just started on 1.7. Don't want to take the pen with me, and I would also like to let loose a little bit.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

I'm just back from a weeks holiday so will share my experience.
I had started Ozempic 6 weeks before going. I started on .5 as .25 wasn't available. I've responded really well, no desire for snacks, eat much less and crave healthier food. I've had a fair bit of nausea though and extreme tiredness for the first few days.
I would've been due my next dose the morning we set off. In the end I decided not to take it as we were travelling 15 hours once we left our home. I had no nausea or tiredness that week so thankfully I could fully enjoy my holiday. I wasn't too concerned about been able to eat or drink, I really didn't want those side effects.
I feel my appetite was pretty normal that week which surprised and alarmed me. I'm not sure I was ever fully hungry but I wanted to and could eat, food noise I suppose. I ate very carb heavy compared to since I started the injections and drank too, some snacks but overall less than a usual holiday I did eat a lot of protein though. I arrived home dreading the scales. I faced them the next morning to see a 5lb gain. I always retain lots of fluid flying so I was happy enough. I'm back a few days now, the fluid is draining out of me quiet literally and I'm a half pound heavier now than the morning I set off.
I injected when I got home .65 as I felt the .5 was wearing off in the last 2/3 days. I was concerned given how quickly my appetite suppression wore off after missing one dose that Ozempic had stopped working for me but appetite suppression and some nausea and burping kicked in within 12 hours. Food noise is gone again and I feel full most of the time.
I find nausea is bearable if I don't eat too much fat. HTH

It looks like the price of Wegovy - at least in the States - will start to come down. Given the fact that it's massively overpriced there, I'm not sure there will be a corresponding price drop in other countries, but it certainly seems like the competition from Eli Lilly means they can't price gouge. There is another medication coming - Triple G - which appears to be even more effective than Mounjaro. So when that hits the market that's going to provide even stronger competition. Novo has been buying every factory for sale lately, so even with more people starting the medication, some of the supply issues should ease. More supply = dropping price.

The writing is on the wall that in the near future we should have much cheaper medication.

Yes I think eventually it will become very affordable, which is fantastic!

I've had a non-scale non-victory ... my chest seems to feel deflating. There's a whole spare tyre there that could go instead ... but no.

Has anyone else found this? I'm going to have to start doing upper body exercises.

I'm losing at about the same rate as you. But if I hadn't done this and my quite structured diet I would likely have gained rather than lost.

Oh that's brilliant! Just 5lb and almost gone already, you must be pretty pleased with that. I'm hoping for similar, don't mind a couple of lb on, I am expecting it tbh, but I'm going to try to retain some self control 😬

I'm finding the same, and it's really miserable. It's to be expected I guess, but I'd definitely have preferred to lose it from my stomach or thighs first!

PrimalLass · 31/05/2024 22:21

It is rubbish. Glad I didn't buy new bras a couple of weeks ago.

That's good to know. How many days between your doses? I'm going away for 2 weeks and planning on doing a lower dose just before I go, and then when I get back. I will have 15 days between doses and wondering if I will have to start again. Only on 0.75 at the moment

Flatleak · 01/06/2024 10:23

Weekly check in time 🤗

Another 2 pounds off - my goal feels close!

SW - 220
CW - 171
GW - 160

So 49 pounds lost since end of Nov 23.

And my boobs are like empty flour balloons with wrinkly excess skin, for those discussing above 😂 my stomach has a minor overhand when standing but I lay down and roll to my side it just spills out. Hoped I'd get away with it as I'm relatively young and not had a baby, but nope! Oh well, it's the price I pay for being fat in the first place
