I over ate yesterday for the first time since starting 0.25mg just under four weeks ago. It does NOT feel good! I felt full and felt like the food was coming back up my throat. Awful feeling.

I’m due my first 0.5mg at the weekend. I’ve had a few side effects just from the 0.25mg - severe exhaustion for a day after injection, plus some nausea. I’ve also been constipated for the last two weeks so am not seeing weight move. Pretty uncomfortable too. Should I expect the same but worse when I go up?

AhBiscuits · 01/05/2024 20:00

Yes probably @DamnItBetsy
I don't get constipation any more but when I did I took a dose of lepicol each day and it sorted it out.

Bit of a blip - visited a friend for the weekend, was promised simple meals, but was tempted by takeaway & cake!

I'd previously survived a pub lunch some weeks before, but this threw me off my routine totally. There was another takeaway when I got home and biscuits!

My injection time is Sunday evening, but I got back late on the Sunday and went straight to bed. Then with work, I didn't inject until Wednesday evening. I got back under control this week. So that was a week out.

Finally stepped on the scales today and not a disaster! Basically, no gain, just stayed static. Not sure I how I got away with that one. Maybe it's the drug.

When I started down this path I was obsessed with reading everything and all that. Some months in, and I got distracted by other things to be obsessed about. This was part of the issue, I think.

Gingerlygreen · 01/05/2024 23:19

@AhBiscuits you must feel amazing being so close to goal.

The only shot I've split was my last one, I was on 1.7 and halved it, the 1mg had stopped having an effect on me so it seemed pointless to wean off but then the 1.7mg made me feel quite sick and I couldn't face it as it coincided with my birthday and a weekend away.

I'm not sure whether the half doses helped or not, I didn't get any stomach issues, headaches or sulphur burps which makes me think it probably didn't do anything for me however I still don't have much of an appetite.
I guess only time will tell if I'm now used to not snacking and eating smaller portions or if it the effects of the Wegovy.

PrimalLass · 01/05/2024 09:48

The diet I'm on is a daily weighing one too. She says weigh daily or not at all because once a week is meaningless if that's on an 'up' day.

This makes sense. I weigh every few days if I remember before I have breakfast.

PinkCaro · 02/05/2024 07:42

@Gingerlygreen good luck with it, please keep us updated with how you go 🙂
@DamnItBetsy I'm on my 4th .25 today. Depending on how bad your constipation is, get that sorted before increasing the dose. I recommend fybogel chews, they should get you moving, they come in lemon flavour and are like eating sherbet.

I agree with the feeling like it affects seeing people socially, I'm on a no drinking thing anyway, and it's nice to have the help of Wegovy to put me off too!

i'm due to go to .5 next week. Still relatively happy on .25 so I think I'll use the click chart and do .33. I'm 3kg down since starting 😊 the food gremlins are almost silent, it's wonderful.

PrimalLass · 02/05/2024 09:25

The aloe vera tablets I posted up thread have sorted all constipation issues.

jay55 · 02/05/2024 10:05

@Striving4Better having a blip but no gain is excellent for the long term. You enjoyed yourself so don't have the deprived feeling that can sabotage any diet and are back on track.

boatgirl81 · 01/05/2024 10:34

Can I ask a question. I have just taken my 4th dose of 0.25. There is clearly quite a bit of liquid still left in the tube, I hate waste! Any idea how much will be left? Can I borrow a needle from the 0.5 pen that has just arrived and use up the last of the 0.25? I am 3 weeks in and 6 pounds down, hoping to hit the half stone milestone soon.

thanks to you posting this, I decided to just inject with the full dose, rather than bin it. It wasn't much, but this stuff is spendy, so in for a penny, eh?

PinkCaro · 02/05/2024 21:33

Just checked my losses and tried to predict if I can lose a kilo a week then I'll be fitting into clothes by August! Thanks all for sharing and supporting with your experiences xx

AhBiscuits · 03/05/2024 06:02

Week 24
Another 1.2lbs down. Chip, chip, chip. I haven't really noticed a difference from reducing the dose this week. Down to 0.5 with my next one.

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 10st 12.6
GW: 10st 6
Lost: 37.2lbs
To go: 6.6lbs

Hoping to lose at least 0.8lbs this week as that will take me to 20% of my body weight lost 😊

Morning, want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been so open about their Wegovy experiences and weight loss journeys. I've been hoping to join you for some time and took my first injection last.
CW 14st 8lb
First Target 12st 8lb
GW 10st
Height 5' 3"

Have calculated 4st 8lb Goal Weight according to the BMI calculator, although I'd be delighted at 12 st.
I don't know if it's anything to do with the Weygovy but I was up and in the shower by 5.45 this morning when I have recently been struggling to get out of bed by 6.30.
Having read all your accounts, I have armed myself with deflatine, gaviscon and ginger tea. I need to work some strength training into my day and up my exercise.
Anyone any thoughts on collagen and how it's best to ingest it please? These injections are expensive and I could do without wasting money on ineffective supplements / treatments.
Have a great Friday

WeighTooMuchFun · 03/05/2024 06:37

Well done @AhBiscuits 😁

Aliflowers · 03/05/2024 10:02

Well done @AhBiscuits doing phenomenally well!

Aliflowers · 03/05/2024 10:08

I’m back to my weight pre struggles filling my script last year so have lost all the weight I’d regained. It’s been slow as have been on wegovy again since late January but it’s been steady. I have that good balance of being hungry and being able to enjoy food but not binge or overeat and control what I’m putting in my mouth.

Would love to lose another stone, this would put me comfortably but I’m just going to tick along and let it come off gradually.

We were out for dinner the other day and a colleague who I hadn’t met in a bit mentioned I was a “skinny Minnie” lol I’m not but was nice that the weight loss is noticeable

Tindrum · 03/05/2024 12:45

Just popped back to see how everyone is doing! Amazing stuff @AhBiscuits and@Aliflowers 😁.

@WeighTooMuchFun you and I are pretty much twins weight and height/wise. Last year I couldn’t even remember when my weight had started with an 11. I lost a bit on lighterlife, put some back on over summer, but once I started Wegovy I steadily lost every week all be it slowly.

Keep at it, time really flies and before you know it you’ll have reached your goal.

For anyone wondering/worrying about reducing their dose eventually, I now take a small amount (.25) every 2 weeks which seems to work a treat. Pretty soon I’ll stop altogether and I feel fine about that.

cw 9st 10

Flatleak · 04/05/2024 09:11

Morning all, checking in for my weigh in day though I think l missed last week. Had guests staying so I also delayed my injection to 10 days and really enjoyed how I felt as it wore off! Now back on and returned to the land of bloating, constipation and feeling unsettled!

But anyway, and there 1.5 lost this week so stats are

SW - 220
CW - 178
GW - 160 (healthy bmi)

I'm 5"7 and have been on wegovy since mid Nov 23, but not made it past/ need more than 1.7mg.

AhBiscuits · 04/05/2024 09:48

Well done @Flatleak !
You're doing great. I hear you on the enjoying it wearing off. Can wait to be done with it tbh.

Well done on the losses.

I have hit my first mini goal of half a stone. Moving to the next dose increment next Thursday.

starlilly88 · 04/05/2024 11:32

@Tindrum that is awesome weight loss. How do you feel now having lost that much? Also really good to know that 0.25 every 2 weeks is working for you. Wondering whether to carry on for a bit at a low dose when I eventually get there

starlilly88 · 04/05/2024 11:41

I haven't been on for a few weeks due to a holiday (3lbs went on) and trying to get back on it again. It's still going well. I lost half a stone on a diet before Wegovy so my total weight loss is 25lbs, 18 on Wegovy so far since January. I have lost some weight with previous diets but never been able to keep it going for so long. I feel like I can keep this going for a lot longer and finally reach a weight I haven't seen since my 20s. I want to lose a little bit more than I need to, to give myself a buffer. I'm hoping that the length of this diet can help resolve the bad habits and eating binges, so I can be healthier long term.

No one knows I'm on it, due to judgement, and my DH who seems to lose weight just by thinking about it, wouldn't understand!

Tindrum · 04/05/2024 12:10

@starlilly88 I feel the same as you - it's being able to stick on it that makes the difference to other diets where I always gave up after a couple of months. It feels great and odd tbh. Great to now weigh what seemed unachievable last year and feel healthier and odd to recognise a version of myself from (quite a few) years ago. I'm 54 so good to know that menopause does not have to be a complete obstacle. It's fun trying to put together a new wardrobe without wanting to shoot myself when I put something on iyswim :).

Tell me about it! Out and about today and wa starving by 1.30 as hadn't eaten since a small tea at 6 last night. Just manage maybe 25% of a treat medium maccys meal 😢

nowandnever · 04/05/2024 15:24

Hi
I’ve been right through this thread and the previous. Thanks so much for sharing all your experiences. I’m taking deep breaths and psyching myself up to start wegovy next week. If I get approved - I have multiple sclerosis, albeit with no disability, but I don’t know if the immunosuppressants I take for that will make a difference. Hopefully not as the MS just makes it even more important for me to lose weight.

I wanted to ask, for those that had a lot to lose, how did you maintain calories? My goal would be to lose 7st to get to a healthy BMI. It just feels like a very bad idea to let the appetite suppression bump me down to 1200-1500 or whatever when my maintenance is over 2200?

Thanks, and good luck everyone.

looking for some advice after a disappointing April.

Moved up to 1.7mg 2 weeks ago as felt food noise was creeping back in on 1mg although I was still loosing. Have felt the worst on this dose than I ever had done, really awful nausea and just feeling absolutely rotten, DH commenting that I am barely eating anything. I am, I am sticking to my calories of around 1200 a day but some days I don't quite meet that and it is a struggle - having to stick to very plain food,

I started 3rd Jan 212lbs and today I weighed in at 187lbs, so 25lbs over 17 weeks, just under 1.5lb a week. This last 2 weeks have been awful and my weight loss has been 1 measly pound 😭 I cried looking at the numbers on the scale this morning.

I am seriously considering whether this is worth is, 1) not just the expense, but the days of feeling awful, not being able to sit and have family meals etc go out and have a drink with friends and then to up the dosage only for the weight loss to slow down it seems. I can cope with all of these things if I feel good about seeing the scales moving, but this is not making me feel good.

I have a big birthday and holiday in 22 days so was going to have a break for that as I can't go on holiday feeling so rotten and not be able to be sociable etc....

I have 3 x 1.7mg injections left so do I start to taper off now (maybe go back to 1mg today) and maybe 0.75mg next week then 0.5mg the week after and then a break over the holiday? What would people suggest? I am seriously considering whether I will go back on it after the holiday too but will have a think about that before I make a decision.

If you have read this far, thank you 😀any advice from others gratefully received Flowers

No advice I'm afraid but I'm contemplating coming off as the nausea on injection day is awful and reminds me vividly of hyperemesis. Just awful. I'm only on 0.5!
