Lost just over a kilo this week. 4.5 down since starting. Feels like things are starting to work more consistently.

Yesterday was a terrible day for my guts though, and had so much wind.

Well done to all the losses and perseverance.

I've been using boots for my pens but couldn't order any yesterday so trying Superdrug.

AhBiscuits · 23/04/2024 08:40

Well done @jay55
That's a good amount off.

I seem to be coping better with this week's dose, just a bit of nausea and not the tummy issues of last week! I've taken my last 1mg and the tapering will start with my next jab.

Take pictures! I just found three that I took on the 4th of April. I've only lost about 5lb but my goodness the difference in my stomach size is marked.

PrimalLass · 23/04/2024 11:27

Actually it's 6lb. A bit rubbish at 1lb per week but that will be significant if it continues until the end of June.

jay55 · 23/04/2024 13:30

Pound a week is great. Anything downwards is good.

Bit of an odd one, but has anyone felt a bit jittery/uneasy as a side effect?

I took my first 0.5 on Thursday afternoon after 4x weeks on 0.25. Friday was fine. But I felt v tired on Sat and started having a sort of butterflies in the stomach like feeling. I guess it's a sort of anxious feeling but I can't think of anything I'm particularly anxious about.

I don't usually have anxiety and nothing has changed apart from increasing my dose. The slight nausea, dry mouth feeling I was expecting but the jittery/sense of unease (as if I've got to do a presentation tomorrow type feeling) is rather unexpected and not very pleasant. Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar?

The first month made my anxiety much worse, it's usually good but the first month it was constant.

Luckily it stopped otherwise I would have had to ditch the wegovy.

somedogsdo · 23/04/2024 16:58

Thank you for your reassuring replies - much appreciated.

Funnily enough the jitters have now gone away completely. Woke up this morning completely fine. So maybe as dose has worn off. Have to see what happens when I do next dose on Thursday. I can cope with nausea/constipation/headache but if I had to feel like that the whole time it might have been a game changer. And I really need this to work!

swimmingdory · 23/04/2024 18:44

I've my third dose tomorrow. 0.25. Not really had any side effects (maybe a small amount of being fuller for longer) but food noise def still there and not lost any weight.

I've my second (0.5) pen on the way. Am wondering whether I should double dose to 0.5 tomorrow? What do you think.

somedogsdo · 24/04/2024 07:51

Personally I wouldn't. I think half the challenge is to get to a therapeutic dose, where you're losing weight, with tolerable side effects. Danger being the side effects stop you from getting there - hence increasing the dose quite slowly to allow your body time to adapt.

anoldcharter · 24/04/2024 08:34

I have had a disappointing April, much more food noise than usual and only 2lb loss this month (although I am due to weigh again next week so that might improve) 24lb in total since Jan though so I am pretty happy with that.

Just had first 1.7mg injection, was hesitant and hoping I could stay on 1mg for a couple of months but the last couple of weeks made me realise I had to move up.... fingers crossed food noise decreases and weight loss increases 😄

@swimmingdory the advice is to titrate doses slowly so maybe see how you are with another 0.25 this week? Hopefully it'll all start to click into place?

PinkCaro · 24/04/2024 08:49

I agree, you want it to get to what they call a steady state, so that's the dose where it is active. Keep going @swimmingdory hopefully you'll feel the difference soon xx

I've just done my second 0.5 so will see if I get ragey again.

Aloe Pura Aloe Vera Gentle Action Complex Tablets, Natural, Vegetarian, Cruelty Free, Food Supplement, Botanical Blend, 60 Tablets amzn.eu/d/hrCpVwt

Saw these on another thread and they are so good to 'keep things moving'.

PrimalLass · 25/04/2024 21:32

How is everyone doing? I almost wish I was having some nasty side effects as it feels like I've not had any wegovy at all. It must be working away in the background I guess.

EatingTillIDie · 25/04/2024 22:47

Hey all, I'm back!! Took 0.25 on Monday after a long break for the epic chest infection.

I'm finding it quite interesting now I know what to expect, I feel more self aware of my hunger. Honestly, it felt like there was a same day impact on me. I have been eating like a half starved wolf for weeks, and I had a chocolate bar ready to go on my desk Monday afternoon. And at the end of the day I realised it was still there...

My meals have gone back to the usual portion size (twice as much as I need) and I felt suuuuuuper full up. While just a few days before no amount of food satisfied me.

Anyways, hope you are all doing well. Frustrating to think I've lost a couple of months but onwards and downwards on the scales!

AhBiscuits · 26/04/2024 06:53

Welcome back @EatingTillIDie I'm glad you're feeling better.

A tiny 0.4lbs loss this week, which is a bit disappointing, I've been lower all week, but my period is here so could be that. I have scraped into the 10s though and my unbroken streak of losses continues.

Week 23
SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 10st 13.8
GW: 10st 6
Lost: 36lbs
To go: 7.8lbs

Weigh in day. . . 1.5 lbs heavier! I’ve been eating between 1200 and 1500 cals every day so should absolutely have lost. Have been suffering from constipation for the first time for the last week to 10 days though. Maybe that’s it?

Try the aloe tablets I linked above.

I only lost 1/2 a lb in the first week and I do think that was the reason.

Sorry - quoted wrong post and cba to switch laptop on to edit it!

jay55 · 26/04/2024 07:58

@EatingTillIDie I keep wondering if this is what eating feels like for the "eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full" brigade, do those people always have the full feeling at the right time?

The stopping a meal part way through, getting through the morning without a snack, feeling full and not pushing the override. Do other people have this without the drugs?

I do find the mental effects of the drugs fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.

Thank you! Yes I do feel great.
I have a team night out tonight, bowling and curry, and was looking at what to wear. I'm going for chinos, a flowery short sleeve top, fitted denim jacket and white high top trainers. I was trying stuff on and thinking it looked good and flattering. Just 6 months ago it would have been choosing whatever fitted and hid the shape of my body and I'd have felt miserable about it. It's really been life changing.

anoldcharter · 26/04/2024 08:52

fantastic loss @AhBiscuits and enjoy your night out
gah, that's very frustrating @DamnItBetsy but its probably the constipation, a good clear out will help get things moving on the scales.

jay55 · 26/04/2024 09:28

AhBiscuits, sounds amazing having options on outfits. Hope seeing you in going out clothes gets the compliments coming in.

PrimalLass · 26/04/2024 09:51

That sounds great @AhBiscuits - have a lovely time.
