Wow - 40lbs down? That's amazing, @Flatleak!

I've got my delivery and am starting tonight. I hope I have even a small amount of your success!

LeafUsAlone · 20/04/2024 19:50

Well done @Flatleak and others doing well! I've noticed small differences, and my clothes feel a small bit looser but only marginally. I go up to 0.5 next and am hoping I will start seeing more changes

anoldcharter · 20/04/2024 20:09

Amazing losses @Flatleak 😁

Flatleak · 20/04/2024 20:13

Awww thanks everyone! Still have a daunting amount to lose - 160 gets me to a healthy bmi but I need to be 140 to be in the middle of the range and I've not been there since I was 21 😂

Lovesthebeach · 21/04/2024 06:00

@Flatleak im sure you will achieve your goal. Look at how far you’ve come already! Amazing!

EvenLess · 21/04/2024 07:11

Brilliant losses @Flatleak ❤️

I'm 8 weeks in, on 0.5. I'm really struggling to eat still! What do you eat when you really can't be bothered to make a dinner because you know you won't want it anyway?

SW: 232 lbs
CW: 212 lbs
GW: 160 lbs

AhBiscuits · 21/04/2024 07:15

When I felt like that I found potatoes were most palatable. I'd make wedges in the airfryer and eat them with plenty of salt and vinegar.

I'm on week 8 (4 weeks of 0.25 and 4 weeks of 0.5). Disappointingly my weight loss seems to have stalled despite me tracking everything I eat and I rarely go above 1500 cals a day, I already intermittently fast (no breakfast) and am running/walking 4 times a week.

I'm 13st 9 (5ft6) so still a lot to lose. Have lost just under 10lbs while on wegovy which I know is good but nothing in the last two weeks. I'm getting quite down about it. Start the 1.0 pen on Wednesday but not sure I can do anymore than I'm currently doing? Just keep plodding on and hope for a loss at some point?

PrimalLass · 21/04/2024 09:39

I'm about to start doing a programme called the Livy Method. My bestie lives in Canada and loved it so we are doing the next round 'together'.
I thought this was interesting - see screenshot - as maybe symptoms we are blaming on the Wegovy are weight loss side effects.

She also speaks about the set point theory, which I am definitely a victim of as I've been losing and regaining the same 5lb for a year, despite being really strict at times.

I've been out for another run this morning and it actually felt really good. I'm going to go regularly again now and find a 10k to enter in the autumn. I struggle to run if I'm much over 11st so it's good motivation not to let my weight creep up.

PrimalLass · 21/04/2024 09:46

Well done. I'm definitely a walker rather than runner but I do dream - as in actual dreams - about running, so would like to get there.

AhBiscuits · 21/04/2024 10:00

I've just entered the Cardiff 10k on 1st September. I thought best do it now before I chicken out 😁

How have people found the jump from 0.5 to 1.0?

I’ve been using Wegovy for 8 weeks, have ordered the 1.0 pen and due to take the first shot tomorrow. But I’m slightly anxious at such a big jump, especially as I know someone who had horrific side effects when going up to 1.0 (terrible vomiting and diarrhoea). I’ve had pretty much no side effects so far, and obviously I’d like to keep it that way.

Is it worth maybe starting with 0.66 or 0.75 instead of going to 1.0 right away? What are people’s experiences?

AhBiscuits · 21/04/2024 15:17

I did 2 weeks of 0.75 to transition and found that fine.

AhBiscuits · 22/04/2024 06:52

Last 1mg shot today. Going down to 0.75 next week. I'm still actually feeling the effects of last week's so hope it doesn't hit too hard.

Could you stretch it a few days?

I hadn't heard of the set point theory before, but this is what happens to me.

I actually signed up to WW again last week because they are offering a free 1 month trial and I wanted to access my.old records. I was a member from 2015 to 2021 when I had my baby, and I've managed to download my entire weight history from those 6 years. I've also kept records from 2022 until now, so I've input the lot into excel and compared every date of each year (what a nerd 🤓) and it's been extremely eye opening. In short, I KNOW I can maintain my weight, I just can't lose it once I've gained it. The graph very clearly shows the three attempts I've made, but I spend the entire time in the same 9lb "window" of weight.

I'm now the lightest I've been since the end of 2017 (which is when it all went very wrong).

22lbs down, 18lbs to go.

PanettoneSoprano · 22/04/2024 11:24

I can't remember if I've said this already but I really recommend taking measurements at the start of your journey.

My food diary has a section for this, which is the only reason I did it, but it's been amazing to look back on.

PrimalLass · 22/04/2024 11:55

I love the data too. I've recorded my weight morning and evening several times a week since Christmas and it's the same story. I lose a couple, do something like going away for 2 days with work, gain 5lbs 🙄 then take a month to lose that again.

PrimalLass · 22/04/2024 16:31

Had a good day. Went to the gym at lunchtime with my daughter (she's on exam leave). Started my Livy method diet so I'm hoping the routine of that (it's very structured) will carry over when I stop the Wegovy. I've still lost only about 5lbs in 5 weeks but I am very resistant to weight loss!

Bit of an odd one, but has anyone felt a bit jittery/uneasy as a side effect?

I took my first 0.5 on Thursday afternoon after 4x weeks on 0.25. Friday was fine. But I felt v tired on Sat and started having a sort of butterflies in the stomach like feeling. I guess it's a sort of anxious feeling but I can't think of anything I'm particularly anxious about.

I don't usually have anxiety and nothing has changed apart from increasing my dose. The slight nausea, dry mouth feeling I was expecting but the jittery/sense of unease (as if I've got to do a presentation tomorrow type feeling) is rather unexpected and not very pleasant. Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar?

PinkCaro · 22/04/2024 21:47

I'm only on second week of .25. So my experience is limited but:
Feeling jittery could be related to being hungry? Are you running on empty?
Due period?
Any palpitations/ feeling like your heart is pounding? If so please chat to GP 😊

I had a very similar experience after my first 0.5: I was semi-furious for a day and HANGRY. I ate a bit more and it went away.

PinkCaro · 22/04/2024 21:50

Week 2 of .25 and my appetite is sitting around 1400 calories intake - before Wegovy I couldn't get lower than 1800, not at all! I've got a bit of indigestion and fatigue (which will be from reduced calorie intake) so just waiting on seeing bigger results as the weeks go by. We went to subway and I struggled with a 6"
