Mine turned up 10 days early

AhBiscuits · 14/04/2024 08:03

I really, REALLY want to get into the 10s this week. I need to lose 2lbs. Let the salad commence 😄

Hi everyone, just catching up!
I love reading all the progress stories everyone is doing so well.

@AhBiscuits fingers crossed for the 10’s this week!

im about 5-7ibs away from my ultimate dream goal. I’ve stuck on 1.0 since January as has worked well for me. I’ve got one dose left of my current pen.. I was going to stop now but this past week my eating has been all over the place and I’m really scared of stopping as I’d got used to not thinking about food and had pretty much stopped the binge eating..

Does anyone have any advice? Shall I do one more pen of 1.0 or move up to 1.7 for the final push???

AhBiscuits · 14/04/2024 12:00

I'm by no means an expert, so feel free not to listen to me @Lovesthebeach 😄
I wouldn't consider stopping until you're in a really good routine and not shortly after having a week of your eating being all over the place. Maintenance is hard.
I'm about to start what I hope is my last pen. I'm dragging it out for 7 weeks and tapering the dose. I plan to really focus on good habits and exercise then continue in exactly the same way once I stop.

@Lovesthebeach maybe go for one more pen at 1.0? Or taper down?

Hi 👋pleased that you're so close to your goal. Maybe do another month and work on how food is in your life (this is meant super gently and with a kind voice I've no real clue either 🙂)

PinkCaro · 14/04/2024 16:57

First weekend - today the endless foraging, and food thoughts went away!!

boatgirl81 · 14/04/2024 17:26

I so agree, I just don't want to eat. It's a weird feeling!

Lovesthebeach · 14/04/2024 20:41

Thanks everyone. Given how rough I’ve felt today I think sticking with 1.0 is the right choice.

@PinkCaro youre totally right…. I need to focus on healthy eating - not just eating what I fancy but less of it.. otherwise I have no chance of maintaining my weight loss!

@AhBiscuits i will take your advice.. think I’m going to try tapering down too rather than cold turkey!

Lovesthebeach · 14/04/2024 20:42

@PinkCaro that is the absolute BEST part of this medicine.. when the food noise disappears… truly life changing x

Nw22 · 15/04/2024 07:09

I just started my first 0.5 this weekend and I have now lost 1 stone. I do still get hungry but hopefully this will change with the higher doses.

I'm having my kitchen redone and DS1 has an asd assessment this aft. I've allowed a stress Kit Kat, but I didn't need it. It's wonderful.

good luck on the higher dose @Nw22

AhBiscuits · 15/04/2024 19:25

I've actually had pretty normal energy levels today. It's my day off and I normally watch true crime documentaries and lie on the sofa all day, enjoying the DH and child free house. I spent the day at my allotment instead. It actually wasn't raining for once so I managed to get my onions and potatoes in. Saw about 1000 slow worms. Anyway, injection day so back to feeling like shit tomorrow 😂

Striving4Better · 15/04/2024 21:27

@AhBiscuits I've just looked up slow worms - legless lizards who like compost heaps usually found in allotments. I've never, ever seen one - and I've just spent a knackering couple of days of gardening, so it's not like I'm a complete hermit.

Since last posting two weeks ago, I'm down another 2.8lbs. BF called me a Skinny Minx last week - BMI now 27.7, so still overweight, but a lot has shifted since my peak post-medication weight. Dresses are baggy - may need to get the smaller ones down from the loft.

Here's one amazing thing: The previous weekend, my Saturday shopping trip took far longer than planned and by the time I'd stopped off to see BF at the pub on the way back, it was 3pm and I hadn't eaten all day. I was hungry and the chicken salad wasn't going to cut it. So burger and chips and a small white wine it was. I was super full at the end and ate nothing else for the rest of the day. But where it was a revelation was that this didn't derail me at all, not in terms of food behaviour or in terms of weight loss. My previous experience has always been, if I'm dieting to lose weight and go out for a pub lunch at the weekend, it completely undoes all my good work and weight loss doesn't happen. Go Wegovy!

AhBiscuits · 15/04/2024 21:38

Well done @Striving4Better
Its great that the odd higher calorie meal doesn't ruin everything. Before for me it would be the start of a binge that could last days because what's the point?

I think all the slow worms are in my allotment, that's why you haven't seen them. They hide under the plastic sheets I put down over winter. I pulled one back and there must have been 20 under there. They were most put out at being jostled out of the way.

"I think all the slow worms are in my allotment, that's why you haven't seen them" 😆

That must be it.

Yeah, I hear you on the binge thing, @AhBiscuits . That's happened to me too.

PrimalLass · 15/04/2024 22:25

My first four weeks are over and I'm due to start 0.5 tomorrow. I've lost very little scale weight but had jeans on today that I don't think I would have a month ago. Strange.

I now do have a feeling of slight nausea at all times, so am a tad nervous about tomorrow's dose. But I had more like 0.35 last week so hopefully will be ok.

Lovesthebeach · 16/04/2024 05:41

@AhBiscuits thay would’ve been me too… weeks worth of binging caused by one ‘cheat meal’

@Striving4Better well done on the losses so far! It’s so nice when others start to notice your weight loss too.

@PrimalLass that sounds similar to me, I didn’t lose that much weigh on 0.25 it really started coming off the scales when I moved to 0.5

@Nw22 excellent loss so far!

Im a day late taking my dose for the first time in six months.. I felt so awful Sunday/Sunday night that I couldn’t face injecting yesterday. I do think my week of rubbish eating (not volume of food, more the junk nature of it) caught up with me 😬 I’ve clearly got some mental work to do around food in my next/last month of wegovy.

I’ve decided to order one last pen of 1.0 but maybe space out the first two doses to 10 days, then taper down from there. I’m scared of coming off wegovy but also looking forward to it…

anoldcharter · 16/04/2024 08:46

Morning all, some great losses and nsv's 😁 I have had the food noise back this last couple of weeks, coincided with half term and out of a routine 🤔 anyway it's been a real struggle which ultimately shows on the scales this morning as only 1lb lost in that 2 week period... Not a great return on investment.

I take my last 1mg injection today and 1.7 pen on its way, I was hoping to stay on 1mg as it seemed to be working well but looks like time to move up.

Lost 24lbs since 3rd Jan so need to remember that 😁

Me and my brother used to collect slow worms when we were little, there were always loads in the garden 😁 🪱

Jacci63 · 16/04/2024 10:59

Weighed myself today and I have now lost 22lbs since Jan 4th. I do suffer with side effects so the highest dose I have been on is 0.7mg but that is working well.

I am not a fast loser but I have consistently lost every week. I took my last jab on Saturday 13th and am going on holiday for 2.5 weeks this Saturday. I have decided to not jab until I am back from holiday.

I am then going to go back to 0.25mg and start again if you like. This is going to be very interesting! I plan to weigh myself on 1/6 to see where I am as I would rather not see a big gain. That gives me time to lose a bit.

I will be going away again on 24/6 but I haven't decided what I am going to do then.

It will be really interesting to see how this works!

Take care all.

boatgirl81 · 16/04/2024 12:23

Can I ask, as I am trying to understand how long it stays in your system. I took the very first dose Friday 0.25 and then when I take it again this Friday, will the original dose have run out or are you effectively building it up in your system?

AhBiscuits · 16/04/2024 12:36

I think it varies from person to person how long it takes to break down in your body. I personally found that I did get a stronger response as I took more doses in the first few weeks.

morning everyone! so nice to see all the good and positive news although I wont be able to cope seeing the slow worms @AhBiscuits .. I even scream at the sight of slugs, worms, caterpillars in my greenhouse!

Well anyway, i have a bit of worry.

I have been on wegovy 7 months now.
1 month of 0.25
1 month of 0.5
1 month of 1.0
1 month of 1.7
and finally now 3 months of 2.4

I am nearly to my target weight and so have been a bit slow plus perimenopausal. When i first started, the only side effects were feeling nauseous especially at new dose increase until i get use to it. Recently, probably after so much accumulation of semiglutide in my body, I feel that I cant eat. I feel sick every time after i ate and the problem is that I'm not hungry. I have loss all of my appetite. I have to remind/force myself to eat. Im not unfamiliar with not eating because I use to intermittent fasting or even extended fasting before starting my journey with wegovy (perimenopausal make it stopped working for me, it used to be really good). I took multivitamins and some other supplements every day but my worry is that if i get malnourished somehow. I feel tired all the time (I think due to not eating). I find it hard to enjoy my activities like running and cycling (or even gardening), somehow I've loss appetite for everything not just food. I'm thinking of stopping once my target weight is reached or probably I need to tapper down the concentration. Has anyone got click chart for the 2.4mg?

Thank you for letting me vent out my worries here.

The concentration of semiglutide goes up after injections and down through the week as the body metabolised it like diagram below:
