I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

I emailed asda a few days ago and they said the higher doses should come in towards end of Feb/early March. So hopefully soon!

I emailed the same inquiry and was told the same so fingers crossed x

That’s reassuring re: the Asda supply. Thanks for sharing.

I am not 'dieting' and will see how this impacts my first weeks weightloss. I think I'll be ok as the first .25 does has impacted me imeadatly. I can only eat a third of my usual portions (admittedly too large in the first place) and removed the need for any snacking, chocs, biscuits etc which were my other downfall.

But will swap to calorie counting if weightloss is impacted. Had a sneaky jump on the scales and have lost 6lb, but my offical weigh in day has changed to my injection day, which is Friday.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 26/02/2024 13:30

I’m on day 6 and just realised that I have a pa k and a half of salt and vinegar rice cakes left. I kid myself on these are healthier than crisps but I limit to two packs a week - both are usually gone within a couple of days.

im not dieting, just observing my food behaviour and seeing what is different. It’s not good for me to calorie count or weigh myself, I get. A bit obsessive. I’ll increase my exercise from bare minimum though.

No poo yet. Bit worried about that. I’ve maybe not eating the rice cakes because I am full of prunes. I’ll buy some senna and add that to the homemade dynamite combination. If nothing happens tomorrow I’ll speak to the pharmacist I really can’t tolerate this!

PeachPoster · 26/02/2024 13:34

Well done @Claloulat too and everyone else who has had some losses!
If it's any consolation to those still feeling hungry, I still feel this too and have still lost something despite overeating here a

1stTimeMummy2021 · 26/02/2024 13:37

This medication is so weird, I feel light-headed so I'm going to eat lunch but I don't feel hungry, never experienced this kind of sensation before, it's fascinating.

ItsFunToBeAVampire · 26/02/2024 13:38

I decided to start on Saturday night, after originally planning for Sunday morning. I figured if I was going to get side effects I'd rather sleep through them and I was putting off starting because I wanted to eat more (yes I have issues). So I bit the bullet and had my first injection at about 8pm on Saturday.

Anyway, Sunday went OK, I had no great appetite suppressant but I also didn't eat as much through the day. I had a bigger dinner which was fine. I found I wasn't thinking about food as much, although I was thinking about why I wasn't thinking about food which started a vicious circle.

Today I think the appetite suppression has started. I just made a small tuna salad, about 300 calls according to My Fitness Pal, and only managed half of it.
I was still munching away and starting wondering if I'd had enough, so I mentioned that to my husband and he pointed out that the fact I'd thought it probably meant I had. It was like a light went on and I realised that yes I could stop eating.

Now, this could all be a placebo but it's looking promising.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 26/02/2024 13:43

@ObsidianTree I'm still having cravings too and am just so so hungry.
I'd say so far it's 50% willpower v the injection as to why I'm eating less.

It took me 3 attempts and half an hour to finish a chocolate mousse yesterday. Usually it would be gone in less than 2 minutes.
I wolfed down everything else during the day though and craved crisps (only gave in once).

I'd put a pound on this morning when I got weighed so hopefully when I weigh in on Wednesday there's a clear loss.

Yes I think it's working somewhat as I'm eating less and don't feel hungry actually. But still need to fight the impulses telling me to eat a bag of crisp or eat a cake pop (I made with my daughter yesterday) I think I ate 3 cake pops yesterday! So rubbish willpower! But they were in the fridge staring at me every time I opened it. So I have moved them into a tin and forgot about them today so far. So I definitely need to work on the will power.

I did manage to stick to about 1500 cals yesterday tho. It's just the sweet snacks I am struggling to say no to.

@LoadsToLose are you me? Could have written exactly that myself.

I'm 48 hours in and no side effects but also not feeling that it is stopping my hunger. I'm using willpower to resist my usual evening snacking and hoping that it kicks in soon.
I'm mindful of calories and have been using up some meal replacement shakes I had, which helps with the calorie counting.
Taking preemptive senna just in case as the meal replacements also bung you up, never mind the Mounjaro.
My next 5ml dose has been despatched so that's good

Ofalus · 26/02/2024 14:58

Hi everyone,

I started Mounjaro last week and weighed in for the first time today and have lost 10lbs! I've had quite a few side effects though (nausea for the first 4 days post injection and horrendous diarrhea on day 3).

Food noise has completely disappeared for me though which is incredible, as someone who's been fat my whole life this is a whole new way of living 😅

Hello - I picked up my pen from Boots this morning. A bit apprehensive about starting and hoping the side effects won’t be too bad. I didn’t get any needles in my pack which was open - not sure about that but I do have loads as I bought 100 when I was on Ozempic and I have a sharps bin fortunately.

I have joined Weight Watchers online for people on medication. It looks like it is more about eating and drinking enough rather than limiting anything. They have an online meeting which I plan to try this evening. It is discounted as a boots customer.

I have had two months off Ozempic/Wegovy and the weight is piling on. Hoping to put that back into reverse. It sounds like lots of you have had a good effect from the starting dose so that is promising.

Haha I imagine there are a lot of us out there with the same challenges! Hopefully Mounjaro works for me- Asda online doctor have just approved my request 🙌

RunningAndSinging · 26/02/2024 16:57

I just had my first dose - do you find it stings a little bit more than Ozempic/Wegovy? I did bleed a bit too so perhaps hit a capillary making it sting. I am surprised by the different mechanism in the pen too but it worked ok. Here goes……

NextPrimeMinister · 26/02/2024 18:17

Well done @Ofalus ! Amazing result.

OoohLovelySlippers · 26/02/2024 18:17

@RunningAndSinging are the needles the same for Mounjaro as they are for Ozempic and Wegovy?

I pick up my pen tomorrow but Ive still got 2 x 2.4mg Wegovy to use first.

Those of you starting on Mounjaro who haven't tried Oz or Wevogy - can I ask why you didn't try them?

NextPrimeMinister · 26/02/2024 18:19

@OoohLovelySlippers by the time I decided to do it, I saw MJ was available and thought I'd give that a go as it has a small % better result.

1stTimeMummy2021 · 26/02/2024 18:37

@OoohLovelySlippers reading about the side effects and results mounjaro seemed like a better choice for me.

1stTimeMummy2021 · 26/02/2024 18:40

I've seen a few posts about limiting calories but I was wondering if anyone has aimed for a calorie deficit instead? I do a lot of exercise so don't want to eat too little, not sure how much to have.

LoadsToLose · 26/02/2024 19:03

I hadn’t heard of Ozempic or WeGovy - I found out about Mounjaro first, via the Second Nature weight loss programme. They emailed about it. I decided to go it alone due to the cost, using MFP and exercise.

vaguely remember last year reading about people using diabetes drugs for weight loss but dismissed it

dan1970 · 26/02/2024 19:07

£169, initial order. I am finding the app really helpful

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 26/02/2024 19:11

@OoohLovelySlippers I didn't try as I'd pretty much dismissed it and didn't look into it. A couple of weeks ago I decided to have a look online at weight loss injections and then saw a thread on MN which mentioned that Mounjaro was going to be available soon. I looked it up and as it has better results from testing I decided to just give it a go as it was already available.

I'm 40 in the summer and I don't want to be so fat when it comes around. MFP has all my weight logged and when I was 30 I was 6 stone lighter 😓

pallyloo · 26/02/2024 19:46

I was going to purchase Mounjaro tomorrow but I'm scared to take it after reading up the thyroid cancer thing and they don't have any info of it translates from the animals that for it to humans.

Is anyone else's worried about this or can put my kind at ease
