So I am getting married soon and I hate hate hate wearing heals because they are so uncomfortable and sore to walk in but I think they are really pretty and are more elegant..

Is it silly to wear trainers under my dress as no one will see my shoes anyway or should I have high heels and trainers with me for later??

I got my wedding flip-flops from love lemonade, they do sandals, trainers, all kinds of gorgeous footwear

Megifer · 11/04/2024 16:40

I've worn trainers as a guest so pretty sure as the bride its fine for you to wear a pair 😬 Congratulations!!

Burpie · 11/04/2024 17:08

Wear whatever makes you comfortable! I wore ballet flats and my dress was knee length.

thesugarbumfairy · 11/04/2024 17:24

Wear what you want. I wore white khussa pumps on my wedding day. They were pretty and sparkly and nice and flat!

MaryFuckingFerguson · 11/04/2024 17:33

Wear trainers. So much cooler and the last thing you need is to be uncomfortable on a day that involves a lot of standing.

Heels are naff nowadays anyway!

Bluebellsparklypant · 11/04/2024 17:46

Yes go for it, I wore a pair of white canvas superdry with my wedding dress

Nettie1964 · 12/04/2024 13:17

Wear yr trainers. I wish this had been a thing when I got married I absolutely hate wearing high heels. I buy them because they are lovely but they just stay in the box. Ps my daughter wore converse with her bridesmaid dress 30 yrs ago they looked lovely xxx good luck.

Graciegirl695 · 12/04/2024 13:23

No its not silly at all. I can't wear heals so I got white sneakers took the laces out and replaced them with some white tule, I also hot glued a string of beads around the top edge of the sole. They came out really cute

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 12/04/2024 13:32

I had converse painted to match my wedding theme and colours. I can’t have been the first person to do this either as the lady was set up already! It’s nothing unusual nowadays

EveryoneButSam · 12/04/2024 13:32

I got married in bare feet. Not a shoe person at all. Had some flat whiteish ballet pumps for the parts where I needed something on my feet.

Bansheed · 12/04/2024 13:32

8 had white trainers last month, that I got pimped on insta will.send you a DM

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/04/2024 13:33

My friend got married wearing DM’s. It’s your day, wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Dinkydo12 · 12/04/2024 13:45

Yeah why not go the whole hog and wear jeans and a T Shirt.

PineappleTime · 12/04/2024 13:50

My sister in law wore colourful converse under hers looked awesome. Where was you like there are no rules when it comes to your wedding.

cerisepanther73 · 12/04/2024 14:30

Didn't know it was a thing

Slightlylostalongtheway · 12/04/2024 14:53

I wore Tiffany blue converse with a tea length 50s style dress so everyone saw them! I was able to dance all evening and walk around in the scorching August heat in Italy! Wear what you want.

WeightoftheWorld · 12/04/2024 15:06

It's your wedding day, wear what you want! I wore sparkly flat shoes for mine. My SIL wore converse!

Pascha · 12/04/2024 15:10

I wore bronze sliders 19 years ago. My sil this year wore DMs under her dress and her 13yo daughter wore converse all-stars under her skirt as bridesmaid.

I think it's fine.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 12/04/2024 15:53

switched to white leather converse as others have mentioned for the evening part of my day so I could dance in comfort!

Fupoffyagrasshole · 12/04/2024 15:53

my sister wore white crocs !! (Couldn't see them as the dress was long!)but she was super comfy

I've been to a couple of wedding fairs with my son's fiancée recently. White trainers with fancy laces seemed to be quite popular. Wear what makes you comfortable and will allow you to enjoy your wedding.

Very good. Deffo not silly!

steppemum · 12/04/2024 15:59

I wore flats, and they showed with my dress.
I don't wear heels and wasn't about to for my wedding. They were flat white ballet type flats, they looked lovely, just toes at the front under the dress.

My friend wore her black DM boots under her dress.
I love the idea of wearing white shiny DM boots.
