Is this dress ok for an older bride?

ie: late 40s? Is it too much - too slinky, shoulders too big etc? Is it too low at the front?

I'm half madly in love with it and half worried it looks a bit daft on me. I don't want a traditional wedding dress but I don't know if this is a step too far. It's a non-church city wedding so no stomping through fields or anything Grin

The back is also low but I can't get a pic of it - I think it looks ok.

I am planning to lose about 10lbs or so and will get it adjusted if necessary.

I've not sorted underwear yet so excuse the slightly droopy top half. I've have another picture that shows the top straight on but it's a bit nips-ahoy so I'm not sure I want to post it!

I would just get the "WING" out of those shoulder pads, that will take it from Alexis Carrington try-hard to Lauren Bacall super style Queen

Actually do the shoulder pads turn round?? Have they been put in the wrong way round?

It's super gorgeous on you though and with the right underwear on it'll be amazing!

I’ve bought the odd one from M&S - but they were rather utilitarian and not the same as the things Elizabeth Taylor used to wear in films. (Available, I know from La Perla type places. My life just never involved that level of glamour.)

Wow op you look beautiful great choice your DP is very lucky 🍀

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/06/2019 20:54

Noooo, you must keep the wing! Like this...

Without the accessory obviously...

MsMighty - I might take a look at the shoulder pads but actually I think the 'wing' is mostly due to the cut of the sleeve rather than the pad itself iyswim.

Myimaginarycat - I dunno, that accessory could come in handy Grin

Do not touch the shoulders. [Stern face] The shape of the whole dress would be altered if you interfered with them.

Looks fabulous & v classy

The dress is beautiful and you look amazing in it!

You don't need to lose any weight at all, and if you go for a bra - a seam free bralette would be my recommendation I think cleavage would ruin the look.

Genuinely stunning Op. Congratulations on your wedding!

Oh my! What a beautiful dress! I love the colour and the cut, it looks absolutely amazing on you! I agree with everyone else, you don't need to lose any weight, you look stunning as you are xx

If you're that concerned about your tum, buy some good shapewear but personally I don't think you need it xx

Your future hubby will fall in love with you all over again when he sees you walk down the aisle xx
