Is this dress ok for an older bride?

ie: late 40s? Is it too much - too slinky, shoulders too big etc? Is it too low at the front?

I'm half madly in love with it and half worried it looks a bit daft on me. I don't want a traditional wedding dress but I don't know if this is a step too far. It's a non-church city wedding so no stomping through fields or anything

The back is also low but I can't get a pic of it - I think it looks ok.

I am planning to lose about 10lbs or so and will get it adjusted if necessary.

I've not sorted underwear yet so excuse the slightly droopy top half. I've have another picture that shows the top straight on but it's a bit nips-ahoy so I'm not sure I want to post it!

I would wear it if I had your figure. I'm getting married (second time) next year and a bit older than you. I've just started looking at dresses. I'm too old and chubby for a traditional wedding dress but having loads of fun looking. When is your wedding?

I think its lovely, I adore the colour, love the shoulders and cleavage and the sort of slink of it, id only say its a bit ott if your getting married at 10 am otherwise its perfect

You can do 40s style shoes with it if you want; they tend to be pretty stable. I absolutely hate heels (I have crazy high arches and most heels are hell; my ballerina friends used to love my feet), and even I can do them.

I wouldn't go too kitsch, but a more modern take on one of these would work well and should be bearable.

With the right underwear it's lovely, needs very smooth underwear as it will show lace

It's absolutely stunning OP, you look like a million dollars so I can only imagine how great you're going to look on the day when you're glammed up and shining with happiness. Those gold shoes posted by a PP would be perfect, you can often get the same style with extra padded soles as ballroom dancing shoes in a variety of colours. The strap makes them much more comfy and stable too. Have a wonderful glamorous day!

Wedding isn't until this time next year and I really wasn't planning to buy anything so soon, but it came on sale so I snapped it up with the idea that I could always send it back if I looked like an uncooked sausage.

I love it! The above shoes are fab but you could also think about rainbow club shoes died to match the dress. I had rainbow club with medium heel on my wedding day and they were very comfy.
