Got it down to 3 dresses... Help me choose!

I 'chose' a dress on Saturday, but I had an appointment at a different boutique today and because I like to make life difficult for myself, I went along.

And of course I fell head over heels in love with not one, but two beautiful dresses. I need a few completely objective opinions! If it helps, I'm 5ft 5-6 but will be in heels, size 8-10 with big boobs, long dark hair, fair skin.

Dress 1

Pros- lovely swishy skirt, I wanted something with a bit of swing and sway when when I walk. Nice thick beaded waistband which, with the cut of the bodice showed my figure off nicely.

Cons- exposes back fat, and cut quite low at the front (I have big boobs). Would have to have my hair up and my hairline on the nape of my neck is quite ugly. Needs an underskirt to give it a bit more of an a-line shape

Special something- lovely keyhole back and beading across the shoulders

Cost- £1180 (before alterations) and extra £80 to have buttons all the way down the skirt

Dress 2

Pros- beautiful elegant, classic style, makes my waist look tiny, fits really nicely across the bust. Cut low at the back so I can have my hair down. Lovely big (but not too princess-y) skirt with a gorgeous train.

Cons- more of a ball gown so less movement in the skirt. Nothing really 'different' about the actual style. Would have to buy a beaded belt separately. Could look a bit OTT at the reception venue which has quite a relaxed, fun vibe.

Special something- really gorgeous blush colour and buttons all the way down the back.

Cost- £1899 for a new one, or I could get the (size 14) sample I tried today for £895.

Dress 3

Pros- swishy skirt again, covers boobs without looking conservative or matronly. Back is covered but fabric under beading is sheer so you can still see my skin.

Cons- cut across the shoulders so arm movement would be a bit restricted. Beading would catch on the veil and other people's clothes. Would have to have hair up.

Special something- that gorgeous beading, catches the light and twinkles whichever way you look at it. Sparkly without making me look like a Christmas decoration.

Cost- £1580.

So... any thoughts?

Definitely 3. It was a million miles ahead of the offers in terms of beauty, class and elegance.

Waterlemon · 14/11/2016 22:02

If you can't decide between the 3 I would say to keep looking!

All your choices are quite different so maybe none of them is the "one"

fabulous01 · 14/11/2016 22:02

Try them on and see whether you get the feeling. Sorry I watched a lot of say yes to dress!
If you don't get that feeling. None of them are the right dress

neolara · 14/11/2016 22:02

Love them all! No help I know.

Northernexile · 14/11/2016 22:03

3 is gorgeous. Lovely detailing, memorable. 1 I like too, but 3 shades it. Number 2 is pretty dull/forgettable in comparison to the others, and not keen on the colour.

  1. It's beautiful and elegant and glamorous.

The other two would be very unflattering for big boobs imo. 1 is too low cut and 2: well I don't think strapless ever looks good with a big bust.

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 14/11/2016 22:04

3, 1 then 2.

Agree with others, which makes you most excited and can you close your eyes and imagine being married in most and feels "right".
Which was the one you "decided" on on Saturday?

And which do you feel you'd regret most if you don't get that one? :)

P.s. Congratulations too! :)

Flingmoo · 14/11/2016 22:05

I think 3 is so classy and elegant and I love the detail. I find 2 is too plain and 1 may not be flattering.

Can't imagine too much back fat if you're size 8-10 though!

Itsafunnyoldgame · 14/11/2016 22:06

Dress 1 Smile

WanderingNotLost · 14/11/2016 22:06

I actually think 3 looks better with big boobs than without- the fabric under the beading is sheer and it's a sweetheart neckline below so no boob-shelf issues!

Dress 2 is corseted but not low cut so wasn't booby or revealing at all

3 for sure.
But I think no veil so maybe that might influence your decision.
Gorgeous dress.

3

WanderingNotLost · 14/11/2016 22:09

I got 'the feeling' with all 3! I am nooooooot good at making decisions...

I'm a 32 DD-E so my boobs aren't enormous, just big for my frame

Dress 1 was the one I picked on Saturday.

In absolute terms liked 3 the most, but thought it looked best on the blonde who is almost boobless. Wasn't so convinced on the boobier brunettes. Judging from what you've said about yourself, however, it sounds as though you'd be fine.

I like the blush! As second choice.

Joinourclub · 14/11/2016 22:14

Number 3 is beautiful and looks v expensive.

littlepinkgiraffe · 14/11/2016 22:14

1 is gorgeous.

donajimena · 14/11/2016 22:15

3
Obviously its your wedding but I don't like strapless at all. 1 is gorgeous but it sounds like you would worry about back fat

lisbapalea · 14/11/2016 22:16

Dress number 1, definitely. It's beautiful and like a previous poster said, at your size back fat will be pretty much non-existent I am sure!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 14/11/2016 22:16

I'd choose 1, simply stunning

Gazelda · 14/11/2016 22:16

1 looks fun, and will feel very swishy.
2 Looks like a thousand other wedding dresses, nothing stands out. Would it still be a contender if it were £2k?
3 looks classy and elegant. My favourite. But think seriously about the restrictive neckline - you'll be doing a lot of hugging and toasting. Any way it could be altered?

giggly · 14/11/2016 22:17

1 for me. Stunning. No 2 is a bit plain and 3 has too much going on for me. But all are beautiful dresses in their own way.

Honeyandfizz · 14/11/2016 22:18

3333333333333 Did I say 3 was my fave!

gettingtherequickly · 14/11/2016 22:19

1 for me, truly beautiful.

whirlwinds · 14/11/2016 22:19

Love 3, absolutely a dress I would go for. Good luck, you have some good dresses here 😁

Longdistance · 14/11/2016 22:20

Dress 3 is stunning.

If I had my time again 👰🏽
