An annual tradition Xmas Grin

caveats: We are still some way off, models will chop and change. Plus I'm an amateur (with limited time) so I often get things wrong!

While I look at models, check out the Santa Shaker! www.netweather.tv/weather-forecasts/uk/xmas

OFGS, I can type and spell correctly. Here's hoping !

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/12/2021 16:15

I'm afraid Manchester can also stand down its sledges. Close your curtains, put on some Christmasy music and let me share with you some festive scenes instead.

OYBBK why am I not surprised

hoochyhooha · 24/12/2021 09:14

Indeed OYBBK you are tormenting us with your gratuitous snow scenes Xmas Sad
NE does sound grim though, I prescribe even more warm mince pies with cream..

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/12/2021 17:50

Quick! Everyone to the northern hills for Boxing Day!
snow warnings out.

Next week looks incredibly mild with temperatures at the moment forecast to be in the mid teens in parts of the south. Xmas Shock

Merry Christmas everyone!
So it looks like a mild, green one for most. I shall though head out early for the northern hills as OYBBK suggests, for a bit of festive snow tomorrow! Xmas Grin

beenrumbled · 25/12/2021 07:36

Going to Glossop tomorrow so I might get my snow fix then. Grin

Merry Christmas Xmas Wink

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2021 09:29

Live from (almost the^) seafront in Dublin...rain is pouring down heavily, air is relatively calm (so it's gonna sit here for the day!) but it's not terribly cold.

Almost the seafront as it's too dang wet to leave the house except when DH has to walk his dog. (Definitely HIS today 🤣) - we're actually less than a mile from the sea up the hill.

Actually in the middle of Dublin Bay, surprisingly, it's 28 gusting 41 knots! And 8 degrees, with the water being warmer at 9.7 degrees (good for any hardy swimmers).

Allaboutyou222 · 28/12/2021 18:38

What is on the horizon next then? Looks like mild for all for a while.

OffTheShelfElf · 28/12/2021 19:38

Looks alarmingly warm for this time of year.

LadyFlumpalot · 28/12/2021 19:51

Can confirm that Boxing Day on the North Coast of Cornwall was warm enough that there were children paddling in the sea in normal swimming costumes! Genuinely warmed than some days in summer.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/12/2021 23:08

It does look very mild, and potentially unsettled.

Is this mild weather long lasting? Does this have any indication for how summer may go? It’s great for saving money on the heating but as a real cold weather lover I’m feeling a bit cheated and it’s taken some of the Christmassy feel away for me. So warm here today felt silly to even put the Xmas tree lights on!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/12/2021 23:20

It is very warm. It looks like we will have a couple of colder days mid week next week, but it looks set to be brief.

We can't infer anything about summer from this.

Looking like a dry and a very mild New Year's Eve here (Leicester)

Happy New Year to everyone (and it's a party hat on for me > Xmas Grin as it's my Dad's 80th birthday today!)

hoochyhag · 31/12/2021 17:17

Happy birthday Gloria's dad! 🎂
So mild in W Yorks too. In a T-shirt all day Xmas Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/01/2022 09:37

Happy New Year everyone!
