Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

Whoever asked if previous snow events were predicted, the Beast from the East, 3 years ago definitely was, as they closed the schools in Edinburgh. Lots of moaning from parents, until a full on snowstorm kicked off just before pick up time.

We’re calling it a covering here, one step up from a dusting. Might be kidding myself.

If you can scrape together a snowball then it's definitely a covering. I think that's the technical definition.

We have snow! Am in Italy though.

About half an inch in East Dunbartonshire. More on the Campsie Fells though.

Met Office app now showing light snow between 5-7am tomorrow where I live in South London and sleet in a different bit of south London where I work. Fingers crossed!

Midlothian - we have a dusting. That was taken just now - it looked more impressive first thing! Forecast for tonight seems to be mixed snow and sleet.

It has rained ALL day in London... more than ready for some white stuff!

Either being right is fine with me as I am up at 04:30 tomorrow as have early work start and I need to get there... given I am near the Surrey/Hampshire border I think I may get wet but not snowed on. Time will tell.

Ooh I’m on the edge of the Chilterns. We’re low by the river here so never get much snow. Few miles up the road and they always get more!

We've got more snow forecast overnight and then a yellow weather warning for rain all day, due to warm air moving in from the East. Not risen above 2C all day.

Woo! We have some Biddulph Moor, Staffordshire Moorlands. It's so wet it'll never stick, still, it's nice to look out at it falling against the light of the streetlights.

Yorkshire Dales by all accounts had a decent amount over night!

We have a warning of snow in the North East... just miserable rain so far.

Pah. Nothing in the midlands yet.

Interesting my weather station is over a degree colder than forecast by the met office. I'll keep an eye on that.

Devon county council have tweeted about a forecast of 14cm of snow over Dartmoor tonight.

I'm in London we was forecast to have heavy showers of snow tomorrow however it changed instantly back to sleet

We've got a rain and flood warning for tomorrow (Fife) and a strong easterly wind. We're 5 mins from the coast so it's going to be a cold, wet one for us.
