Warm weather coming our way

OP posts:
llangennith · 17/06/2018 21:18

Are you in northernmost Scotland OP?

lljkk · 17/06/2018 21:20

25 degrees forecast for Wednesday (DS sports day & I'm off work). Squee!! I love a bit of heat.

Ellieboolou27 · 17/06/2018 21:55

If I didn’t have to work in a sweaty clammy humid office and wasn’t at least 3 stone overweight I’d love it, as I do and I am, so I’m dreading it Grin

LoniceraJaponica · 17/06/2018 22:05

In the grand scheme of things 16 - 21 degrees is not a heatwave in the UK. If that is too hot for you perhaps you need to investigate why. We had warmer weather than that in May. How on earth did you cope?

megletthesecond · 17/06/2018 23:01

No heatwave planned in Hampshire.
22, 22, 21, 18, 18.

Ok, I won't need the heating on but I won't be in light summer clothes. I'll still be wearing a vest underneath. And shivering in air con at work Sad

LoniceraJaponica · 17/06/2018 23:04

Ah yes, arctic air con. It is so unnecessary and over used in so many public places these days. I always have to wear a cardigan at work in summer.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 17/06/2018 23:07

I don’t want a heatwave, I want some rain.

thenightsky · 17/06/2018 23:12

Its looking nice here in Lincolnshire..

Mon - 22
Tues - 22
wed - 21
Thur - 18
Fri - 18

No rain at all.

LoniceraJaponica · 17/06/2018 23:15

The garden needs some rain. It can rain on the days that I am at work.

LapdanceShoeshine · 17/06/2018 23:22

We've had lots of rain the last 2 days so that's nice. otoh it's pretty chilly. I'm almost on the verge of putting socks on...

our met office forecast (E Lancs) goes

16, 17, 16, 15, 15, 16

which is quite a bit cooler than the SE

but at least we did have that fab spell of hot dry weather recently while it was pissing down in the SE. Can't have everything Grin

(Another forecast goes 18, 18, 19, 17, 17, 18, 18. I don't believe that one though)

sonlypuppyfat · 17/06/2018 23:45

I hate hot weather anything over 18 and I'm a red sweaty mess

HateSummer · 17/06/2018 23:47

It’s not a heatwave. It’s nice weather. After today I need it.

BastardGoDarkly · 17/06/2018 23:53

I want rain too.

And a radio 2 weather thread, not some channel 4 arseyness.

Those aren't heatwave temps op.

Where's BadKitten she's my weather guru.

ilovesooty · 17/06/2018 23:57

About time we had some decent heat.

LoniceraJaponica · 18/06/2018 07:14

Just had a look at the weather for the next fortnight. No rain at all. I don't mind, but as a gardener it isn't great.

TerfsUp · 18/06/2018 08:41

I am reminded of a family joke: I love British summer. It is my favourite day of the year. Grin

Frosty66612 · 18/06/2018 08:45

Apparently next week is going to be hotter than this week but that could all change by fhen. At the moment it looks like it will be about 27 degrees for most of next week

Frosty66612 · 18/06/2018 08:45

*in London

FrangipaniBlue · 18/06/2018 08:47

Heatwave? It's not forecasted to get above 13degrees where I am Confused

WilliamLilliam · 18/06/2018 08:50

Wish I hadn't of bothered
Was only trying to alert people

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 18/06/2018 09:01

Op, are you ok?

I think the disconnect is you think 18 degrees is a heat wave. Surely you must logically know it's not, even if you personally find it very hot. That's why some folks are a little bemused, a heat wave generally is high twenties upwards. 18-21 is fairly normal temperatures for British summer time.

WilliamLilliam · 18/06/2018 09:05

In London it will be 27!
I'm fine

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 18/06/2018 09:08

Ok, maybe instead of telling the poster you thought 18 was very hot, it would have been better to say you were in London and it would hit 27.

LoniceraJaponica · 18/06/2018 09:11

Yes. We don't all live in London. In fact most of the population in the UK doesn't live in London.

I wouldn't mind 27 degrees. However, I agree that 27 degrees in London is nothing like as nice as 27 degrees where I live (in rural South Yorkshire)

ajandjjmum · 18/06/2018 09:15

That's good to hear William - DD has a friend arriving to stay with her in London from South Africa - be great that they can enjoy some good weather!
