It is going to be like 1976. I have ordered it - by decree of magimedi Grin

I would love to have a few dry days - am aching to get on in the garden & it is like a bog at present.

GloriaSmud · 11/04/2018 10:22

I'm glad you've ordered a good summer, magi Grin
Few more days of this chilly 'meh' weather and then it's still looking good from Sunday onwards.
It's freezing here today and colder now than when I got up ~ 5.8C at the moment.

I was actually too hot when I went out earlier & had to take of my fleece. It's 14.5C here today & sunny & feels tropical!!

GloriaSmud · 11/04/2018 14:30

Wow that is tropical.
Still cloudy here (Leicester) and we've hit the dizzy heights of .....7.1C

Just back from a walk along the sea front (Eastbourne). 16.5, people picnicing on the beach & a couple of girls (aged about 10/11) paddling up to their knees!!! The sea temp is about 6C!!!!

When I got home the ice cream van was doing its rounds. (I love it as it plays the theme tune from Monty Python!).

Summer is here. Grin

Gertrudethestag · 11/04/2018 17:37

Woohoo!! I just saw this and it looks lovely and warm next week!

applelolly · 11/04/2018 18:30

oh yes, finally. please, please, please let it stop raining. I so so need to do garden stuff, but currently I am having trouble distinguishing where our garden pond ends and the rest of the garden begins Hmm
I have put my winter coat , and then got it back out again 3 times now!!
I have been looking at pictures of my garden this time last year and all the flowers/blossom tress/ shrubs etc are so much further on.....

applelolly · 11/04/2018 18:31

ps has been horrible and grey and rainy then drizzly here for last 2 days with whopping highs of 7 degrees!

PistFump · 11/04/2018 18:36

Indeed...I am bored out of my tree with the grey drizzly fog we've had here in the Midlands the past few days.

All my fingers and toes crossed for a little bit of sunshine ☀️

GloriaSmud · 11/04/2018 19:15

Tomasz Schafernaker used the words 'mini heatwave' to describe next week's weather on Radio4 earlier, so it's got to happen now!

Temperature chart for Tuesday afternoon ~ not bad...

AnyFucker · 11/04/2018 21:02

I cant understand that map

leesmum · 11/04/2018 22:46

Bring on the sunshine, about time Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/04/2018 23:21

I was about to start a thread called 'sun watch' Grin

Next week does look lovely. By the end of the week we will have threads abou sunburn and hay fever! Of course it's timed for the kids going back to school.

GloriaSmud · 12/04/2018 06:43

OYBBK ~ I was intending the thread to be a sort of 'weather website predictions for summer 2018' type of thing but then there were hints about next week being 'a bit like summer,' so now that's been included as well.
But yes, this time next week we could be hearing, 'it's tooooooo hot' and 'I want it to coooool dooooown.' Hmm
