Just looked at the latest gfs. ermm. 30C is shown for Saturday. Potential for some decent thunderstorms too. It looks to start warming up on thursday. Cooler on Sunday.

Going to be quite a shock after the cool run we've had if it actually happens. I'm not sure it will tbh.

I'm surprised how quickly some of these thunderstorms are forecast to start up in the morning. Could be a bit of a noisy early morning alarm call for some!

It does seem strange but they start by coming in off the continent.

It is rather warm over that way at the moment. I was watching the tennis from Roland Garros earlier and they're saying it could be 35C tomorrow I'm not sure I'd go out for a walk in temperatures like that, let alone play a long tennis match!

Absolutely no need for an alarm this morning in North Essex! Very loud and persistent Thunder and serious rainfall.

We had some big old thunder at about 7.20 this morning, followed by a huge amount of rain that lasted about 3 minutes! It was spectacular

I love how the info on that map states its for entertainment purposes only . I'm too far south for thunderstorms. Boo. The rain which was forecast for late afternoon now seems to be due around lunchtime though so I'd better get going if we're going to have an early picnic in the park.

Oh no - we are in Cornwall on the north coast for a week from the 15th. Is it all doom and gloom??

Enormous, it is a little. Two more days and it comes into range, but of course will be wildly inaccurate!

Wiifit, not necessarily, but it doesnt at present look amazing, it looks distinctly cool. Really hope that changes!

Thanks. I never know whether to keep an eye on the forecast or not as I'll be there (in the relative comfort of a caravan) regardless. The only Glastonbury forecast that I remember being accurate was "its going to dump a whole months rain in a couple of hours" which was 2010 I think. I had to take some files backstage and was up to my waist in water at one point!
