Hi all,

We have been following the news and several threads on Mumsnet about the flooding in Somerset and the South West and we wanted to point you in the direction of this thread if you'd like to help.

We are thinking of pulling together a gallery of flood images from where you are to help to raise awareness of what so many are going through at the moment.

Please do post images of flooding near you below (you will see you can now post images in the Weather topic)

Thanks all, and we hope those affected are safe and well.

Well done LeBear, what was tonight's journey like?

LeBearPolar · 14/02/2014 18:27

Oh my God, I thought I would die of the tedium of getting to Powick. The queue began at the Halfway House Inn and I joined that just after 3.30 pm. Got to Powick roundabout at 5 pm Shock

For those who don't have the unalleviated bliss of living in Worcester, that is a distance of 2 miles...

Sparklingbrook · 14/02/2014 18:34

Ugh. That really is a test of patience LeBear. Thank goodness you will have a break from it all. Wine

MrsBucketxx · 14/02/2014 18:37

Thats really bad lebear.

I would suggest maybe working from home thats appauling.

This rain tonight isnt going to help is it :(

NormHonal · 14/02/2014 18:46

Well done flootshoot you and the other volunteers in Egham are doing a fabulous job.

flootshoot · 15/02/2014 17:51

I really can't take any credit. I managed three hours when I had some childcare. Some of the volunteers have hardly been home since this all began.

GingerMaman · 16/02/2014 10:30

Hi, anyone know what the weather is looking like tomorrow morning and today? We are due to travel from south to the north tomorrow morning, and wondering whether we should do it today instead?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/02/2014 12:52

Warnings and forecasts tend to be in this thread just as its easier for people to find them. Tomorrow looks quite wet (very in the SW) but not too windy.

nannynick · 16/02/2014 14:29

Some comparison photos from Runnymede meadows... Monday vs Today (Sunday). The water level is going down but will it come back up again over the next week?

Amazing pictures.

That poor seal! What happened to it?

Mignonette · 16/02/2014 16:12

Have seen these and donated money and offers of towels, bedding, TV's and clothing to the relief effort.

So sorry to see these photos and thinking of you all.

HesterShaw · 16/02/2014 17:52

The seal was thrown over the harbour wall onto the green at Newlyn. It was exhausted, but ok and was taken to the other coast to be released.

I'm sure lots of people have seen . It's pretty incredible. Newlyn and Penzance were battered. The seafront is a mess.

HesterShaw · 16/02/2014 17:53

Onto to the path rather.

Nocomet · 17/02/2014 00:44

Poor PZ really did take a hammering. I've seen boulders that have been thrown half way up fields on the most exposed bits of Scilly, but not damage like that on the mainland.

HesterShaw · 17/02/2014 10:25

Are there any other MNers on Scilly or are you a poor lonely soul? :o

There are a few of us in Penwith I think. Strangely enough we all seem to pop up on weather threads. Odd, that...

Katy1368 · 17/02/2014 10:38

Was wondering about the scilly isles my uncle/aunt and cousin live there.glad to hear it has escaped relatively lightly.

Eghamite · 18/02/2014 19:41

Great pictures, Flootshoot.

Where was your flood relief picture taken? St Paul's or St John's?

There have been really fab Facebook groups where they have been able to ask specifically what is needed. I am not sure that the huge amounts of food donations is what is required. However, they can all go to the Runnymede foodbank, should they not be needed.
