Well, just been out with the dog and I saw several stars which I haven't seen for years and a shimmering bright moonSmile. Quite magical really.
Still hope it clouds over soon, though, as now 0 degrees.

GloriaSmud · 11/01/2014 19:48

After a lovely day here (had a lovely sunset earlier), the temperature's fallen quickly and we're now at -0.1c. It's going to be a chilly night. I've been out having a quick dig of the garden this afternoon in the hope that any frosts we have, will dry the soil out a bit. It was a squelchy job though!

MiserableJanuaryJerseySpud · 11/01/2014 20:42

5oC here

SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 23:03

-3.5 here

GloriaSmud · 12/01/2014 07:08

-2.4C here at the moment. Has been as low as -3.6 (3.30am)

digerd · 12/01/2014 07:57

SE.
-3.2 last night now -2.9. Heating struggling again Confused.

NK5BM3 · 12/01/2014 08:21

Frost this morning!!

ChippingInWadesIn · 12/01/2014 08:22

It was a lovely day here yesterday (Hampshire), it was even quite warm in the sun :)

It's a lovely frosty morning - it looks like it has been snowing, without all the hassle Grin Skies are becoming blue and the 'plane trails' are catching the sunlight - pretty.

Still haven't put the winter tyres on - holding out as long as possible!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/01/2014 08:57

Chipping, doesn't look like you will need them yet. Apart from perhaps some transient snow for the northern half of the UK (more persistent stuff over hills) on Tuesday night it is looking decidedly unsnowy. Lots of rain Wednesday I'm afraid. No snow Saturday.

We've hardly had any frosts this winter. Would like some please. I am hating this dreary wet winter.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 12/01/2014 11:01

Lots of frost here this morning, it's still frosty now and also foggy at the same time (N Yorks). Still waiting for my snow.

digerd · 12/01/2014 11:24

Still sunny in SE. and no wind. However, one bit of ornamental grass kept weirdly moving but nothing else. I assumed it could be a cat hiding to pounce on an unsuspecting bird, when suddenly a cat emerged and walked off.

digerd · 12/01/2014 21:13

Clouded over after mid-day and drizzled in the afternoon. 7.4 degrees atm SE

Meglet · 12/01/2014 21:30

We're down for what looks like more heavy rain on thursday (north hampshire). No warnings yet but the rivers won't like it.

It was a beautiful, bright, frosty morning today. The DC's charged out into the garden at 8am with wellies wedged over their onesies Smile. They were doing their usual routine of bashing all the ice in buckets / pots etc with a stick.

MiserableJanuaryJerseySpud · 13/01/2014 00:23

OYBBK

Been having a look on Metcheck as i find them to be the most reliable

(they predicted the snow in March for Jersey whilst our local weather poopahed it until the day before. Thanks to metcheck me and sil were ready for the complete shut down of the island)

and anyway, Metcheck reckons the temperature is going to drop majorly in February and we will have snow.

On the long range any sight of this?

MiserableJanuaryJerseySpud · 13/01/2014 00:24

oh and its 9.3oC here. Positively balmy

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2014 09:26

Jerseyspud I'm afraid I don't know. GFS goes out to the 29th Jan and keeps it mild and wet. ECM is keener to introduce an easterly.

4 degrees here. Was 2 when I went out earlier. The grass is so green atm Smile

mankyscotslass · 13/01/2014 09:48

Beautiful morning in Manchester. Sunny and not very cold!

PickleFish · 13/01/2014 10:51

Something dramatic must have gone over overnight, as I woke up around 4am with an incredibly painful headache, which I get with rapid air pressure changes. I could barely stagger downstairs to try to get some painkillers. They don't usually wake me up, or come with such suddenness. But it was rainy and foggy last night, and this morning clear and sunny (East Anglia). I hope it's going to be more stable for a while now! I don't mind whether it's rainy or sunny (well ok, I'd much rather it sunny) but I can't cope with these drastic changes. Even this morning I've still got sort of post-headache slightly sick feeling.

Meglet · 13/01/2014 10:59

Bulbs are starting to pop their green heads above the soil. This morning I saw clumps of green daffodill shoots Confused. Easter is the end of April this year, there won't be a daffodill left by then.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/01/2014 11:00

Daffodils?! I love daffodils Smile

Oybbk what's it going to be like in November? Because I'M GETTING MARRIED Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2014 11:34

WOW!!! Grin Congratulations Spotty!! :)
Its going to be beautiful weather - crisp autumn day, a bit of a frost but warming up in the sunshine. Beautiful coloured leaves drifting gently down.
