Potentially exciting weather tonight!

TORRO have issued a tornado watch for central and southern England and Wales.

Which is quite a large area really. Tornado watches mean that the expected weather in conducive to tornadogenisis rather than they are expected but nevertheless, it could be interesting :) hail,thunder and severe gusts are also possible.

I suspect he'll be fine LIZS - somewhat soggy though!

Got caught in a downpour on dog walk this morning. Sky to the east had lots of blue sky but it came from the west.
Been sunny here since 10am - should have waited a bit longer.

Sky clouding over somewhat but with lighter bits around so not sure what is happening. Light breeze. 18 out 20 in

First rumble of thunder in north worcestershire - quite windy too but no rain

It's throwing it down here but no thunder - but with building work going on next door all day from 8am and the local council chopping down trees next to our house I wouldn't know if Mount Etna was erupting in next door's garden.

S.Herts . Here too. No gusts at the moment just pouring down. And now 14 degrees.

Had torrential rain with a few rumbles of thunder at lunchtime here (Sidmouth, Devon.) Looking at the weather forecast, think we're in for another stormy night.

It's going to be a bit of a week of it!

OYBBK - if I was to book a child into an outdoor activity between Basingstoke/Reading this week which day do you think it's less likely to rain - or should I just abandon the idea?

Heavy rain/wind started here (Devon) just after 6am and it's horrible out there! We've had an hour of it but we seem to be having a quiet phase at the moment.

I've just noticed bits of the SW are under a yellow warning for heavy rain. It's going to be a wet day

Very still and not raining atm. Looks wet out there though so assume it did rain in the night.. 13 degrees out and my geranium is blooming again.
My decision is when to take the dog out. She is showing no signs of wanting to and doesn't go out in the rain. I need a few more cuppas too.

We're in Somerset. Very windy and it has been raining steadily since I got up at 7am this morning.

I am Portsmouth (ish) and we heard of Hayling Tornado. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because the wall of rain followed by thunder and lightening here aaas terrific it sounded like a plane hurtling towards the earth!!!

Storms predicted here for today too - nothing yet but is raining

ds returned safe and sound :) Was a rather wet, windy and muddy weekend though.
