For when this one gets full up :)

About 20cms down here (South), started to melt but not much...still enough to have great long icicles hanging down from buildings. Icy pavements, cars pretty buried, roads slippery. Getting colder, we've been promised more snow on Sunday...I love it...

Still only 0 degrees, and little dog has just been out and didn't want to come in. But I found the air quality really bad for my asthma, and huffed and puffed back home. Over cast cold damp weather is much worse than a dry crisp cold < with blue skies, smile>
Looking ominous for more snow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2013 15:44

Currently putting together the low down for the next few days :)

Hooray - OYBBK is back from her real life to update us.

Mrs A hunkers down to await update.

MaureenMLove · 19/01/2013 15:54

I'm bored stoopid, so I'll look forward to the update. I got myself all ready for a 'snow in', where I didn't have to go out, other than to play in the snow and we haven't got nearly enough to play in!

I don't need to go anywhere either, because I planned the weekend around snow! Grin

The most I've done today, is have a shower and put clean pjs on!

mankyscotslass · 19/01/2013 15:58

With eldest Mankies football match cancelled this morning, I have had my first leisurely Saturday in months - I've only just got dressed because we need to go out to family for tea. Blush

No more snow, just the dusting we got yesterday. We have been robbed!

DamnDeDoubtance · 19/01/2013 15:59

DH and DD just went out bird watching. Sat with mug of tea awaiting OYBBK update.

Tomorrow: Main risk is for Kent and East Anglia and continuing up the east coast as weather pushes up from France. Possibly some heavy snow arriving by morning in Kent and lunchtime or so in EA, Yorkshire by late evening. Also to confuse things there may be some heavy snow showers in the NE for a time during the day too.
Other eastern areas (perhaps as far west as Hampshire) will also be affected by this but to a lesser extent. Other areas, the possibility of some flurries.

Monday: The east coast will be most prone to snow showers but they could pop up in central England too. Perhaps some sleet or rain mixed in, particularly in the south.

Through the rest of the week a very similar picture. Perhaps the south may be a bit too warm for snow from Monday/Tuesday on. Keeping an eye on possibilities for Wednesday and Friday, but at the moment it is too uncertain to speculate. Impossible to say when the cold will leave us, at the moment it looks like hanging on in the north for this week at least.

pepper - it almost certainly was graupel. was it a bit like polystyrene? Could be ice pellets if its more solid than that.

Exciting news for us tomorrow, then!

Today it's been dandruffing all day, but no change in the look of outside. Tonight we're going to dinner at some friends' who live in the middle of nowhere, so I'm glad it's held off today.

MrsAFlowerpot · 19/01/2013 16:11

Thank you OYBBK ! Just to be clear (because I'm a bit stupid!)...does this mean we're likely to get snow in Herts? And will North London get it or escape?

Thinking selfishly about Monday and work. Live in one and working in the other.

DamnDeDoubtance · 19/01/2013 16:13

Cheers Kitten! Should be our turn now Toby.

TobyLerone · 19/01/2013 16:15

:o

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2013 16:15

I did enjoy Rosemary's baby DDD - very weird in parts, but a good old fashioned tale.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 19/01/2013 16:17

Thank you oybbk, really wishing I hadnt agreed to babysit now!

Heffalumpa · 19/01/2013 16:17

Is MK at risk of this snow coming into E Anglia? Or are we too far West?

DamnDeDoubtance · 19/01/2013 16:19

Is it the 1st time you have seen it? It is strange film, very spooky.

Try Angel Heart next, thats a corker.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2013 16:25

Tomorrow afternoon both herts and north london should see some snow for a time, but I dont think it will add up to more than a few cm at most.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2013 16:27

Milton Keynes should catch some light stuff tomorrow afternoon.

DDD it is the first time :) I recorded a few scary films over Christmas. Will watch out for Angel Heart, Thanks!

Any hope for me OYBBK?

EndoplasmicReticulum · 19/01/2013 16:35

We have been sledging this morning. I am now happy. We didn't get any overnight despite forecasts seeming to suggest this, but had a fair covering yesterday evening. More sledging tomorrow I think. I like snow at the weekends because I don't have to worry about trying to get to work - my son pretended it was Tuesday this morning and school was shut (he is desperate for a snow day).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2013 16:37

not very much at the moment Manky :(

OP posts:
StairsInTheNight · 19/01/2013 16:41

There's a cm or so lying here in SE London, so by the look of it maybe a little bit more tomorrow, was hoping for huge snowdrifts!

Oh, well. At least its sledgeable, although not really enough to do snowman etc.
