I'm mid surrey. Pretty much right on the border of the yellow snow warning on the met office site. What do you reckon? A bit more for us? Dc want a snow day on Monday. We had 10cm yesterday, but not enough to keep them off Monday!

Manky - we have snow forecast for later next week ( currently Tuesday but yesterday the Met Office was saying Monday and Wednesday - I wish they'd make up their mind!!)

OYBBK A graupel question!

This morning we had a brief flurry of snow. It was formed of what looked like tiny spheres. I've looked at Google images of graupel but what we had was much smaller - maybe only one or 2mm across. Is this still graupel or something else entirely?

Do you think north Wales will get anymore? There's been a bit of a melting session onthe last few hours but y phone forecast says the temperature will be in the minus numbers for the next few days

I love the snow but the sub-zero temperatures are going to be the death of my boiler. Poor thing is on non-stop.

The winter of '63. I was five and I can remember Dad taking me to the frozen Thames. (We lived nearby).

OYBBK, I've been sadly let down by 'could do better' and 'Must try harder' snow here in West Yorks (Halifax area).

Up Thread you said you thought we'd get some more snow in Yorkshire tomorrow evening.

Do you think it will be proper, heavy, deep and crisp and even stuff? And will we see big, fat flakes of the stuff here in Halifax?

We had another fun afternoon sledging today. Unfortunately broke two of our sledges! Need to buy more or something else that will be a good alternative . Doesn't look like we will get anymore at the moment though.

BehindLockNumber9 - I expect we may get some snow tomorrow (Sunday) but I am not expecting there to be another 10cm. Time will tell though.

It's snowing.

We're now under the yellow warning for snow ~ this hasn't surprised me judging by the forecast on News24 yesterday showing the snow heading for us here (Leicester.) So we're hoping for a covering which has pleased DD2 greatly as it's her birthday today and she wants to go sledging!
