South Herts
Temperature in the night reduced by only 1 c - must have had thick cloud. +1 atm. NOT snowing.

Tortoise · 23/01/2013 07:21

Well, that was rubbish. Don't think it snowed anymore and school is open. Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/01/2013 07:35

It was rubbish here too. Snowed enough to make everything very slippery (and probably delay the buses massively) but not enough to close things down.

We did get snow here in SW Leicestershire

Unfortunately just the tiny powdery stuff again - a fair bit of it though, about another 1.5cm.

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2013 07:38

Yay for Worcestershire's rubbish snow. DS's schools are open. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/01/2013 07:42

Think that is the end of the snow locally for this spell. Maybe a little more on Friday but that may well be rain instead. However for much of the UK Friday night could prove to be rather snowy. A sort of last hooray as the weather looks set to warm for all from sat/Sunday (with northern hilly areas holding on to the co ld longest)

Friday night may be rainy for many rather than snowy. It looks borderline.

It is snowing again here now. Met office still has amber warning for Somerset. Don't expect it to do much though.

LIZS · 23/01/2013 08:34

Just had another shower here

Mrcrumpswife · 23/01/2013 08:57

Still chucking it down here, but at least all of the schools are closedSmile

I think we have got more snow until 4 pm if you believe the weather reportsHmm

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2013 09:01

YY to waring up. I am getting my summer clothes out right now. Whoop whoop!!

fatsatsuma · 23/01/2013 09:10

Weirdly we had quite a lot overnight - another few cm I think. Just measured outside and there is 19cm snow lying on our patio table Shock

GloriaSnow · 23/01/2013 10:00

We've had a good covering overnight here as well (Leicester.) We're forecast for 'snow flurries' today but the snow flurry we've got at the moment has been going on since 6am!

lubeybooby · 23/01/2013 10:28

Snowing again here now too

Dawndonna · 23/01/2013 10:49

Melting on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders. School bus running for the first time, today!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/01/2013 11:28

Just started snowing again here in S Derbyshire. Wasn't expecting that! Quite big flakes too. Wonder how long it will last?

TeWiSavesTheDay · 23/01/2013 11:32

Not too much extra this morning in south east midlands. Road generally clear, but pavements are sheets of ice.

Out of curiosity oybbk, why is it that we think the temp will warm up in a few days? And what will happen when it rains on all this ice?

PseudoBadger · 23/01/2013 11:42

Light snow North London

GloriaSnow · 23/01/2013 11:59

Our 'snow flurry' seems to go on and on!

lubeybooby · 23/01/2013 12:10

STILL snowing! Very light, but hasn't stopped for ages now.

digerd · 23/01/2013 12:13

South Herts
We had a little flurry about 10.30, but only for a few minutes. Temp .+ 2c , but air bitterly cold in places. Snow still covering the grass in my garden.

pigleychez · 23/01/2013 12:35

No snow forecast for here in West Sussex but just had a pretty heavy shower thats covered the car again. Still going but only lightly now.

Think im abit over the snow now!

MooncupGoddess · 23/01/2013 12:49

It is snowing lightly at Heathrow - not enough to cause any problems though (I hope!!).

OYBBK - if you find a gap opening up in your life now the snow thrills in the UK are dying down, could you possibly cast your eye quickly over the eastern seaboard of the US over the next ten days...? I have a big work trip travelling from Washington to Boston and points in between, and am slightly nervous of a big nor'easter swooping in and trapping me in 3 feet in Nowheresville Connecticut.

MooncupGoddess · 23/01/2013 12:50

3 feet of snow, obviously!!

GossipWitch · 23/01/2013 12:50

Had light snow this morning in leicestershire
