ooh, Lifeisontheup if I didn't have so much to do I would be excited! But I have sequentially schoolx2/CM/ me-Dentist/home/vets/cm/meet DSis/schoolx2/dentistx3DC/home/boys brigade. Then I have to do a headcount and return to anywhere I have left any children or pets...
I have a List.
DH has just cycled back from station, it's settling in the High St and the schools have sent warning text re tomorrow.

CharlieSilver · 22/01/2013 19:20

Snowing here and has been for an hour - Surrey

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 22/01/2013 19:23

Am very very cross indeed about this new snow. SW London.

Lifeisontheup · 22/01/2013 19:24

I'm lucky that I'm not at work until Thursday night, DS has told me he only has History tomorrow so obviously getting to school is not important Hmm and we are walking distance from the station so DH can get to London or work from home. I shall just light the fire and stay put. Smile
Sorry you have a full timetable tomorrow pepperrabbit Good luck and stay safe.

Mid-Surrey. The snow is slowing down here. Boo!

lubeybooby · 22/01/2013 19:29

Aww. I'll try not to get my hopes up then. Thanks OYBBK Flowers

fatsatsuma · 22/01/2013 20:02

Big snowflakes coming down in n oxon. it's got further north and east than expected Smile

teddymummy · 22/01/2013 20:03

I have to drive from south Oxfordshire/berks border into Oxford city tomorrow, what do you think kitten?
Will this snow continue and will I have to cancel my course?thanks

nannynick · 22/01/2013 20:09

Snowing in West Surrey when I left work, so I didn't go to the gym but came straight home. It was settling on the roads, seems quite a lot of roads have not been treated yet. With luck the county council will be doing the major routes overnight but that could still leave the routes between villages a bit of a problem. Will have to get up very early as I must be at work at 7am... it's an 8 mile drive through villages (or a much longer drive via motorways).

Maybe I will be lucky and it will warm up over night and melt the snow... wishful thinking Grin

TeWiSavesTheDay · 22/01/2013 20:10

Oh fucking hell.

Next year I'm buying a 4x4 sledge towing snow buggy I swear to all that is holy.

Snowing again nearish to fats, I think.

mumat39 · 22/01/2013 20:11

Stopped here now. :(

edam · 22/01/2013 20:12

OYBK, just seen the bit where you looked up from your desk to realise your car was covered in snow. Was work distracting you from your primary function (Professor OYBK of the Mumsnet Academy, Department of Meteorology)? Grin

Was snowing very slightly in N Herts/Beds border when I came out of the station. The sort of snow where you have to look under street lights to check it really is snow not light rain.

Any idea whether we'll get any more overnight? I'd love a snow day but have been asked out to a posh restaurant tomorrow night on someone else's budget so ideally no snow tonight, please!

edam · 22/01/2013 20:13

Forecast on my mobile phone says snowing tonight round here, btw, but can't recall who it is from or whether they are at all reputable. May as well be Angry Birds forecasting for all I know!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2013 20:31

Grin Edam! It's been piling up since last Thursday with the the Great Forecasting day. My emails are getting more insistent.... (Don't they know I have more important things?)

I don't think you'll get very much at all this evening/tonight, so I reckon you'll be alright for tomorrow evening Envy

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2013 20:33

Teddy, I think it will continue for you, it seems to be piling in on the radar.

Lessening off here now, I think it's going to be mostly light with heavier periods of snow.

OP posts:
snowflakehellokitty · 22/01/2013 20:43

Sounds more like rain here outside Sad

snowflakehellokitty · 22/01/2013 20:50

Bbc weather saying snow from 10pm onwards all through at salisbury till tomorrow aft
Is this correct obyk ?!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2013 21:02

Snowflake, I don't think so, will probably be gone from yours early to mid morning, unless they know something I don't.

OP posts:
reastie · 22/01/2013 21:05

Snowed a little here this evening in west kent but only a tiny sprinkling on the ground. BBC local weather says heavy snow for most of the night Hmm but I can't see it myself unfortunately . Off to check met office.

lubeybooby · 22/01/2013 21:13

Argh! Met office is showing heavy snow for Daventry about 20 miles away, and snow shower for Coventry about ten miles away but sleet for my town.

Nooooooooooo I want snooow proper snow

Still got fingers crossed it will shift a little to make it that extra ten miles... come on...

edam · 22/01/2013 21:20

Thanks OYBBK (forgot one of your Bs earlier, how remiss of me). So I can go to the ball tomorrow, hurrah! Still want some more snow after tomorrow though.

Sparklingbrook · 22/01/2013 21:38

Snowing here now (Worcestershire). Light at the moment, every forecast says different so I will have to go with the looking out of the window method. Sad

Tortoise · 22/01/2013 21:49

Stopped here now. Don't know if will get more over night or not. DC were hoping for another snow day.
