For when this one gets full up :)

OP posts:

chipping I live in one of those places, DH catches the train and they're running a reduced service. As lots of people had to stay home Fri or come home early, pretty much everyone commuting has to go in today.
I would imagine the train will be horrendous Sad
DCs schools are open but they can wear mufti and have to take an extra pair of shoes which they will lose.

LIZS · 21/01/2013 08:17

10.5cm here. dc have made it to school, most secondaries appear to be open , waiting to see if I can work from home.

Tortoise · 21/01/2013 08:17

Is Somerset going to get any more? Grin
Schools back today but we'd like another snow day! Grin

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 21/01/2013 08:18

Both DC at home today in South Derbyshire. Five inches on the ground and it's still snowing.

Bunbaker · 21/01/2013 08:19

We got off quite lightly with snow last week, but had masses last night. Nearly all the schools in our LEA are closed and I'm working from home today. I'm in South Yorkshire.

LivingInAPinkBauble · 21/01/2013 08:26

Snow day here in Norfolk. Forecasters suggest more today, will that be it for Norfolk? Thanks for all your updates Kitten.

awaywego1 · 21/01/2013 08:27

In sheffield too-no cars moving on my road yet so just deciding whether to attempt to get to work or not.

Bunbaker · 21/01/2013 08:38

I work in Sheffield. I haven't even bothered trying to get in. Woodhead is closed, but I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about Snake which usually closes at the first flake of snow.

educatingarti · 21/01/2013 08:41

Snowing heavily here this morning Grin

CaesarSaladNoDressing · 21/01/2013 08:50

Snake and Woodhead definitely closed Bunbaker heard it on radio this morning.

I'm Sheffield too and my school closed with re-assess at 11am...boo...but as it's snowing now I doubt we will be in.

Bunbaker · 21/01/2013 09:02

Just heard on Dearne FM about Snake. Only 15% of schools open in our LEA.

South Herts.
Not snowing at the moment, but didn't stop all day/evening yesterday. Temp only 0, but today feels colder than yesterday - damper.
Male neighbour just been to shovel a pathway again for me on my driveway.
In Germany we were lucky that the the village council/mayor employed a man to sit on a small snow clearing tractor to clear our pavements, otherwise it was our obligation to do it. < at no extra cost to us> And we paid only £75 per year rates. Our council do nothing and we pay £1000+ grrrr

letseatgrandma · 21/01/2013 09:14

Well-a steady dusting here in Essex yesterday but no more last night and schools all open today. Kids feel cheated and are devastated!

Is there any more coming-it's not fair; Norfolk seem to have got all our snow ;)

MegBusset · 21/01/2013 09:16

Well we got a couple of inches overnight. Nothing on the school website this morning so got everyone up and breakfasted only to get texted at 8.10 saying school was closed!

MegBusset · 21/01/2013 09:17

Letseatgrandma feel free to come and collect some!

TomDudgeon · 21/01/2013 09:18

We have about ten inches in the shade
Loads last week then 3 more to top it off last night.
Places where it was cleared or the sun got to it a bit are obviously lower

Im North norfolk
And you're all welcome to it

mousebacon · 21/01/2013 09:21

Lots of snow here. School's open but ds1 looks decidedly mumpy so he's off school anyway. We'll be trekking to the docs soon. Joy.

On the plus side we did build a snow pig in the garden yesterday.

digerd · 21/01/2013 09:28

You can have all of mine - looks about 10"- the shoulder height of my little dog, who loves it , but I don't.

TwllBach · 21/01/2013 09:35

Good morning all Grin

I dropped DP off at work half an hour ago and it started raining... Next second it was snowing!

Have to say it's a little bit boring now...

educatingarti · 21/01/2013 09:35

Snow turning decidedly sleety here Sad

mankyscotslass · 21/01/2013 09:40

very light snow here now too. Sad

Oh well at least we had a snowball fight on the way to school!

MirandaWest · 21/01/2013 09:41

Whatever is coming out of the sky is coming down quickly but really can't tell if it is snow or sleet or rain...

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 21/01/2013 09:43

I think it's melting as fast as it's precipitating in York!

Dawndonna · 21/01/2013 09:47

Most Norfolk and North East Suffolk Schools closed.
Snowed in here, again. Literally, it's beyond the back and front door steps and I live at the bottom of a 1:4! If we don't get anymore we're going to try for the school bus tomorrow.
