Perhaps some snow for southern England.

Maybe some snow for some of southern England and east Anglia in the early hours tomorrow. It is marginal and many will see rain instead, but I think that the chilterns may see some and perhaps the higher part of the Downs as well. Could be a messy mix, so don't get too excited!

SecretSanta are you east or west, if you are west you have the joys of rain, even more rain. I am not bitter about this at all, oh no.

It's going to be another one of those borderline weeks again I think. Those charts just keep teasing!

Yesterday, my daughter's normal car journey of 40 mins was 2.5 hours, due to accident with 2 cars on top of each other. News reports today of 50 schools closing, Luton and Stanstead airport closed, buses and trains cancelled and 1000s of vehicle breakdowns - all due to 1" of snow.
-3 last night and snow still not all melted in my garden.

Nightmare! I think they just weren't prepared for it all, the met office weren't really going for snow. Round here our council made no attempt to grit at all.

Snow still in my garden here too.

digerd how annoying for your DD. This country sometimes doesn't seem prepared for the tiniest amount of weather.

I bought my DD a new waterproof fleece lined coat from Milletts this evening, she was very pleased with it. I was not so pleased about her chasing her brother around the shop with the excitement of it!

All the more disgraceful as our rates are extortionate, and they can't be bothered to pay the costs. In Germany we paid only community rates which remained the same for years at £75 per year ! We had loads of snow and much harder and longer winters.

Kitten, there's some rather dramatic stuff in the Express online saying that it's going to be the coldest winter, like, EVER, and so on - I'm sorry I closed the tab, it was linked to on the bottom of a link about Max Clifford that I clicked on on here.

I don't think the Express is necessarily worth believing about, well, anything, and never read it but - is there anything in this, do you think?

Greenhill
Yes, DD was really fed up, and I worry about the danger for her driving to work - she is a careful driver, I worry about the other reckless ones and the accident shook her up.
Had a smile at your DD chasing her DB round the shop in her new winter coat. Glad she loved it.

Just looked at the Daily Fail link, and we had -3 last night. Lowest has been -10 in the night here in 2010, on my house wall. Really don't want -20 as had that in Germany for weeks on end and heating has to be on 24 hours a day.

roony, I do think it will be colder than average from what I've read, but it would really have to be going some to beat the winter of 2 years ago!
Nice pics though on the link, have to give them credit there.

Temperatures to plummet to minus 3°C this week and could fall as low as 20°C in December

Isn't 20°C rather warm? Wink

Maybe the people rapping were fans of Eminem.

Kitten, Sky News are carrying reports of a 'beast from the East' apparently bringing lots of snow on Mon/Tue to the SE.

Any credibility in this? Met Office says no.
