are your skies clear? I just wish I knew what it was going to do! I can cope with the weather, it would just be nice to have a little warning!

I know, we've coped with really bad snow and ice over the past 3 weeks, but would like to know if our 500 mile round trip us going to happen mon-wed or not! Skies have that snowy pink tinge to them now... according to highways agency its snowing all around us

ok, quick update - dd is keen for the pc and shes not getting much chance atm!

Latest gfs model is out. It looks very similar for tomorrow. Snow spreading from the SW across the south. It defers from the met office in both timing and extent of the snow so be aware if you are generally in the south. Some of the precipitation in the sW will be rain, so don't be surprised if that happens!

met office - what is showing on met office invent for your area?

Losingmymind - I don't know what the road conidtions are like there but tomorrow neither the met office or GFS show any particular extra problems for that area for Monday. Tuesday I'm not sure..... its close.

Just a heads up for commuters in the London area for tomorrow evening. Models are not in agreement with how far the snow will spread tomorrow. It is worth being prepared for a tricky journey home. Keep an eye on the met office weather warnings tomorrow in case you need to adjust timings.

OYSSK - how far north is the snow tomorrow likely to move? We're in Milton Keynes. Wondering if we're at risk of this snow moving up from the south?

I'm getting a serious sense of deja vu. We are due to fly from gatwick at 16.50 tomorrow. Half hoping flight is cancelled early tomorrow and we can leg it to Holyhead ahead of the snow (trying to get to Dublin). Train or car then being the question. Oh for a crystal ball! The annoying thing is we're already ina hotel at gatwick we booked it for the parking aeons ago

oh yes forgot to mention we got stuck last year in gatwick in another snow storm hence the deja vu doH!

Hmmm not sure which site to go with for tomorrow as Met Office have a severe weather warning for heavy snow in the SW (and Swindon if you scroll down) but i think its only a chance not for definate but NetWeather and MetCheck both have no snow for tomorrow here - which is the most reliable? (apart from OYSSK of course :))

OYBBK, I'm aware we may/will have snow tomorrow but what do you think about the temps tonight? BBC helpfully narrow it down to "maybe" -15 across four counties, I have animals outside and I'm worried that -15 is a bridge too far for them. They're well rugged up and closed in but I could bring them indoors if I (really) had to. It's looking like -3 for us tonight, would you agree? Okehampton area of Devon.

Justalittle - you are at risk - but you arent in a definite area. The SW will get snow (some cornwall and coastal parts may get rain) it is just a matter of how far it spreads.

You may get a bit colder Sue - as you have snow - it can often get very cold over snow fields and I've noticed that weather forecasts can under play this effect. I'm guessing rather but I'd be prepared for maybe -6 or so.

Am trying to decide whether (a) we try to go from Fife/Dundee to Inverness on 23rd, or (b)we ask IL's (with winter tyres and no small children) to come to us, or (c) everyone stays put, meaning we have the turkey and they have the veg! Tricky. I would go for b with a fall back to c if need be. It does not look like there will be any improvement for Scotland before Christmas. It is more a case of trying to work out where the snow will fall at any one time and at the moment no one really knows much about tomorrow even! Next gfs comes out in 20 mins or so, so I can give you a snap shot guess then.
