Ive been told that my baby will be ok on this just a small amount b4 bed, i have tried to give it to him and he spits it out, i wasent sure at first to give it to him but my mother in law says she did it for all of her lads who are healthu and that he will sleep all night, he dident sleep last night, but im moving onto mashed orange this weeks as he is nearly 7 weeks old and she said it will be fine.
What else should I try i want him fully weaned ny 4 months as they are more contented.
Thanks x Ps this is number 5 baby, the others were started at 3 months but this one is a hungry boy!

Well, you are the only one who could stop this but you are taking a huge risk with your lo's health. iiwy I'd ask them to help with the elder ones and let you focus on the baby yourself.

You don't have to sit back and take it. If they're feeding your child without your permission, don't leave them alone with him. He's your child and you have to make the decisions for him, don't let anyone push you into something you don't want to do.

lulumama · 12/10/2008 14:48

you need to show him this thread! and your MIL

your baby could well be harmed by being fed allergenic foods such as eggs and citrus

if you email me, and give me your address, i will send you the NHS weaning leaflets, that categorically state no food before 4 months and that solid foods are safest introduced at around 6 months, click on the envelope next to my name to send me a message

your baby is 6 weeks old and you have to safeguard his health

stick him in a sling so no-one cna feed him anything other than milk!!

TinkerBellesMum · 12/10/2008 14:54

Have you got a proper sling? You'll find them really useful.
