Ive been told that my baby will be ok on this just a small amount b4 bed, i have tried to give it to him and he spits it out, i wasent sure at first to give it to him but my mother in law says she did it for all of her lads who are healthu and that he will sleep all night, he dident sleep last night, but im moving onto mashed orange this weeks as he is nearly 7 weeks old and she said it will be fine.
What else should I try i want him fully weaned ny 4 months as they are more contented.
Thanks x Ps this is number 5 baby, the others were started at 3 months but this one is a hungry boy!

I agree - but I think paranoia has bled across the board..

lulumama · 10/10/2008 15:52

well done on your homebirth

is there a large age gap between this baby and your others?

totally agree with habbibu, btw.

Habbibu · 10/10/2008 15:53

I know about the paranoia, but the worst that could happen if you come on here and give current advice is that you maybe feel slightly sheepish, and wasted about 30 secs typing.

mummyof5ok · 10/10/2008 15:53

my mother in law just keeps saying he is hungry

brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 15:53

Just stick to the milk. PLEASE no more solids of any kind. Your son will thank you in years to come.

Habbibu · 10/10/2008 15:53

Nod and smile and MIL and keep breastfeeding.

mummyof5ok · 10/10/2008 15:54

quite a gap yes 15, 13, 11, 8, and this baby

brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 15:54

FORGET YOUR MOTHER IN LAW - he is hungry because he only has a small tummy and needs to refill regularly.

mummyof5ok · 10/10/2008 15:57

thanks i also think im pregnant again dunno what to do thats why i have to get this baby sleeping all night

Lurkinaround · 10/10/2008 15:57

Ok, I'll take it at face value. Congrats on your new baby! It sounds like you have your hands full with five but plenty of help for you as they are a bit older I suppose!

You've come to the right place for the best advice. How did you come across Mumsnet just out of interest?

brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 15:58

oh i feel pregnant thats why i need this baby to wea early or i cant breast feed two babies

OP posts:
brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 16:00

Get a pregnancy test asap. Its a fallacy to think you can't get pregnant when b/f. If you're not please be careful.

scorpio1 · 10/10/2008 16:01

you can tandem feed. get a test

brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 16:02

You can't wean early, you'll have an ill baby. Go and get a test done. If its positive see your doctor/health visitor asap to discuss what you should do next.

mummyof5ok · 10/10/2008 16:02

i cant drive ill have to ask my husband to get it for me and i dont want to tell him so ill just carry on, so i cant wean him then for real?

MerlinsBeard · 10/10/2008 16:03

so you have a 6 week old that you are weaning, you are pregnant and you have "never heard of MN before"

What was the site VS was linking to alot the other day?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 16:03

sorry for being a cynical but...
...

no-one, especially a mum of four previous children, can be this stupid naive about feeding and weaning and not getting pregnant when BFing.

great trolling effort though; all credit to you....letting out little bits of further info, keeping everyone interested. A bit more imaginative than of late.....

scorpio1 · 10/10/2008 16:04

Bounty

mummyof5ok · 10/10/2008 16:04

what is mn?

OP posts:
brightongirldownunder · 10/10/2008 16:04

NO DONT WEAN - please listen to what we're saying. You must know someone who can get you a test? Can someone buy you one and post it to you? It so important for your health to know whats going on.
