littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 20:58

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:00

Thats alot Little Piggie....

Well, DS is having roast chicken, roast potatoes and veg tomorrow then And i think ill put him in the highchair rather than the bumbo - his gagging is getting alot better, so, I think I feel safer now

And cottage pie the next day God help my carpet

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:01

Rice??? How did he manage?

littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 21:03

grabbed a handfull and down it goes. same with grated cheese.

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:05

yes highchair good idea, surely in bumbo you have to pass him food?

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:06

I hold the plate on my hand...

littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 21:12

QP, why dont you eat at the same time? At least you know you will get time to eat then. (and you might relax a bit.

Forgot to say, master piggie had a BIG bite of a sandwich i was eating while out (not a lot i could do in a cafe with him in my knee, should know better by now), he was fine.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:14

when I used the highchair when I started, he cried. He likes sitting in the bumbo thingy...

AitchTwoOh · 02/11/2006 21:14

i disapprove of bumbos. there, i said it.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:15

really? why?

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:16

i sit opposite dd and we both eat off her highchair table.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:17

I wish id got a tripp trapp now, i think DS might have liked that. Hopefully this one will....have an accident or something

littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 21:17

MP, highchair is at the table so that he eats with us, we all sit and have breakfast together in the morning, its great.

littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 21:17

whats a trip trap?

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:22

it's a nice (quite pricey) highchair that goes upto your table, so baby eats off the table with you rather than having a table attached to their chair. more sociable, gets baby used to eating round the table.

AitchTwoOh · 02/11/2006 21:23

my chiropractor said she would ban them, reckons that they are storing up back problems for the future. if a baby can't sit up, so she says, they shouldn't sit up. when their muscles have developed enought then they will, any sitting up before that is to their detriment. but then she is pretty hardcore .

in terms of BLW i think they are pretty useless, they mean that you have to pick up their food and you can't just let them have it out in front of them to choose from. means more stress and hovering for the mother, which is kind of not the point of BLW. of course, dd hated hers and it cost £30 so i am probably biased in this regard.

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:24

you mean bumbos there aitch?

littlepiggie · 02/11/2006 21:24

is it one of these funny looking wooden ones?
I put MP up to the table in his, only use his table for messy foods.

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:24

yes, shaped like a z

AitchTwoOh · 02/11/2006 21:25

out highchair cost £12.99 in Ikea. you can have a tray or you can remove the tray and pull it right up to the table. it's easy to clean and cheap cheap cheap. (if you look at the blog photos you'll see it's a pretty popular model.) not quite as pretty as the tripp-trapp, but i think it is cool.

QuootiePieBANGERSandMash · 02/11/2006 21:25

DS LOVES his.... he thinks hes all grown up. Alot of picking food up from the mat though! Ill get the highchair back out tomorrow. My HV though my bumbo was a potty!!

DizzyBint · 02/11/2006 21:26

my dd thinks her bumbo is a potty! she strains so much to get out of it she poos.

AitchTwoOh · 02/11/2006 21:26

yes, bumbos, not tripp-trapps! (sorry, i always forget that this isn't eamil and other people write stuff in the interim).
