Shiny new thread. Work means I've only walked 5.2km this week, though Fitbit says it's 11.9.

Can someone please explain raids? I did one earlier but there was nobody else there. Every one I've looked at has had no players in the "lobby" how does it work? Does there need to be actual other people playing at the same time?

Depends on how what level the raid is.
This is indicated by the number of scary faces showing. You should be able to easily do level 1 and 2 raids solo, 3 with a good counter team otherwise an additional person is best.
level 5 raids are the hardest and you should have 5 people to comfortably do it. Try seeing if other players in your area has a facebook page as they often arrange raid times so you can meet up with others.

So with the raids, am I best to choose a gym where I know I can solo the Pokémon there? There are not many people who play round here

I was just looking for something else in my settings and noticed Adventure sync is off again. Has there been another minor update? I certainly havent turned it off myself. Very annoying, might be worth checking everyone!

BobbyGentry I'm rubbish at excellent curve balls too - most of mine are pure fluke!
You really need to hold the pokeball down and wait until the circle is as small as possible before you throw - then close your eyes and hope for the best

@murree Sure, just tell me what time suits. I can’t do 8.30-10.30am Saturday but any other time should be fine. I’ve also just got my Great league research task so we could also arrange a battle sometime too?

I can’t do curveballs. My balls spin left or right offscreen! They don’t land in the middle or anymore near the Mon.

@Blueroses99 I'm easy on Saturday, Shall we say just after 11am? The eggs last an hour so at the moment so if we put on at 11am and initiate just after?

Got a Mawile out of an egg today! My first one, have never been able to get one from raids!

@muree 11am works for me. 1 hour lucky egg is great. Is it double XP as well at the moment? I think I read somewhere that for friendship levels a lucky egg won’t double double XP?

@Blueroses99 Its only extra XP for hatching and catching - so with a lucky egg we'd still just get the double

Yay, got an armoured mewtwo today 😻. So I only need three mons to complete the Kanto Pokédex - Farfetch'd, Tauros and Kangashan. Time for a round the world trip!!

@help12345678910 I asked the same question a few weeks ago. I found it helpful to start with level 1/2 raids (pink eggs) that I could do on my own so I knew what to expect. I didn’t know anyone who played in real life but I have found active raid groups both near home and near work so I’ve been joining in some level 5 raids, which is actually quite exciting. Problem is I need to do some level 3/4 raids to get more for the Pokédex but I can’t do them solo and the group doesn’t arrange them so not sure what to do.

Hello, please could I join in a coordinegg level up tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am? I was aiming for community day but I have a lot stacking up, so doing some now would be quite helpful. If I don’t hear from anyone i won’t trigger tomorrow and I’ll save until CD.

Hi all - hoping I can join in? I've just started playing Go again with my daughter (we gave it a rest for about a year after some sign in issues). We've only got 1 friend (one of hers from school) and are at level 28 and about 12k from levelling up.

Have been reading a bit of this thread and feeling a bit confused but would love to make more friends and get advice? We have quite a good range but I'm wondering if we've missed out on knowing what to use things for for full potential etc! Is it OK to put our code on here? Has anyone had any issues from doing it? You all seem so in sync and knowledgeable I'd love for us to join in!

Not too up to date with what to do other than gifting each day? Her friend and her haven't got together with phones yet so that is all we have done tbh! Our total XP is 1,639,577 if that is important for anything!

@TeaDrinkingBumbleeBee you get XP when you reach the next level of friendship

10k for great friends
50k for ultra friends
100k for best friends

and you can double the XP if you have a lucky egg on at the time. So folk here coordinate when they trigger the level up of friendship so they can get an egg on and benefit from all the xp. Known here as “coordinegging”.
