It is possible to delete & re-add an existing friend (so long as you still have the code!) to complete this task. Useful little short cut that will come in handy as also need to add another friend for one of the later stages apparently. Jump-start research guide

I'm on the second part, evolved a dratini last week so I only have 6 candy!!!! Bah....

Surely though if you take a photo of the dratini you caught, you get the candy you need to evolve it?

@ropidash oh no, did you not get the notification come through? We have levelled up. Did you have the game open at 10am as well as an egg on? I triggered it at about 10.03am, and got my notification immediately. You get the points when the notification arrives, so if it’s late and the egg expired, you won’t get the extra XP
