Blimey IJumped That's a unicorn cake I guess? It's good enough to be sent to the Great British Bake Off's sister programme Extra Slice (I don't know if you see it in the states). Aaah say Happy Birthday to your DD ( I'm assuming the 'unhealthy day is\was in honour of her b\day) !!

I remember our granddaughter, staying on her own with us and on the first day offering her, very nice, fruit for breakfast (her mum is strict with her diet) she sat there and said sadly "Give me a break". So it was cocopops!

Oh @ppeatfruit I’m sorry. We have flights booked to the U.K. for Christmas and though I’m a bit overwhelmed with the anxiety of it all I also can’t bear the thought of otherwise heading into 2 years of not seeing my little niece and nephew

Guys I ate SO much yesterday, thankyou Thanksgiving! I can’t even remember if I had a breakfast or lunch or what it was because it was overshadowed by the feast:
Thai oven baked dumplings with sweet chilli sauce, crisps and med dips, Happy Pear Christmas wreath (trial run for Christmas), green bean casserole, mashed potato, mushroom and cornbread stuffing, roast Brussel sprouts, apple
Pie, pumpkin pie, ice cream, bourbon slushies, red wine and champagne.....HAPPY THANKSGIVING

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 10:28

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you as well Grin Grin IJumped That sounds an AMAZING feast !!!! (I always forget how big a celebration it is in the States)!

PartTime I used a heaped teaspoon of everything except olive oil and filtered water I suppose they were 2 large desertspoons of oil and one of water. But it was just for me, you could obviously make yours larger. and use mustard instead of horseradish.
I normally do onion gravy but this is much quicker and you could make it the night\or 2 before; keep in a screwtop bottle in the fridge shake and heat\warm in the microwave on the day.

B. Leftover smoothie
L. Beetroot\carrot soup with ryvitas
Sn. Gingerbread with almond milk (warmed)
S. Fruit plate

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 28/11/2020 13:03

Happy thanksgiving @IJumpedAboardAPirateShip! Sounds like an amazing feast indeed. Was it this wreath that you did? https://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/t/the-happy-pear-svegansweetpotatoandcranberrywreath.html How was it?
@ppeatfruit thanks for the recipe and it's hard not seeing family isn't it? DD14 looked very sad when she realised we won't be seeing most of the family over Christmas. DMIL is booked to come from Spain for a week, but that is all we'll do. I'm sure I would be experiencing the same mix of feelings Ijumped, I am about DMIL visiting (desperately don't want her to be on her own for Christmas, as she has been most of the year, but not sure that her travelling here aged 85 is a sensible thing to do Confused)
What about you ppfruit are you still thinking of coming to see your DM?

Yesterday was
B: smoothie with blueberries, half a frozen banana, a bit of soya milk, some water, a glug of maple syrup and 2 scoops of protein powder
L: fasalakia, naan bread, easy peeler
D: pasta with oven roasted veg, pesto and nooch
S: 2 slices of toasted fruit loaf (one with cream cheese), lots of dry roasted peanuts, half a bag of M&S marshmallows Blush

OP posts:

B: water/soya milk porridge with blueberries, seeds and maple syrup
L: baked beans with reggae sauce and nooch on buttered sourdough toast

S: dry roasted peanuts, toast and peanut butter, 2 slices of vegan cheese

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 29/11/2020 14:12

Thanks for asking PartTime Yes I'm THINKING about coming for Xmas but everything's so changeable isn't it? We almost bought the tickets for late Oct. but it's not doable. Just HOPING for Dec. 15th now Sad. DH will be on his own but he understands 'cos mum is 92 !! Someone has to stay with the cats, he's paranoid about Cov. I've had it mildly so I'm not worried!

Your mil is Spanish? That's where your dh gets his beetroot fears from !!! Grin

B. Leftover smoothie, date cakes, half a pomelo
L. Beetroot soup, carrot dip with ryvitas
Sn Toast,pnut butter.
S, Bowl of porridge. almond milk, xmas spices

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 29/11/2020 15:34

Ugh it all sucks doesn’t it? DH currently insisting we follow the guidelines to the letter and wear masks and keep distance from my parents until we take our tests 5 days in. So miserable

Yesterday was:
L: hot chickpeas and tomatoes in cumin and oregano
S: a lot of truffle popcorn
D: made a vegan version of this disgusting American boxed food called hamburger helper and it was excellent comfort food! Followed by vanilla ice cream and hot raspberries

ppeatfruit · 30/11/2020 09:22

So are you flying over IJumped ? If you are, be VERY careful because DD1 and her partner got Cov. after flying to Eng. from Finland. Quite mildly but he is still not fully better.

B.Apricot,lemon\linseed\pear smoothie
L. Mushrooms\garlic\onion fried on toast
Sn .Fresh spelt baguette sandwich with spinach and nooch and tofu yoghurt
.S.Fruit

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 30/11/2020 16:07

@ppeatfruit that’s the plan but don’t worry - our plan is to test and isolate 10days before flying, fly with gloves, masks, visors, change clothes on arrival, we’ll test 5 days in so make sure we haven’t caught anything to pass onto my parents but we’re not intending to leave their vicinity except for some country walks if our test come back negative/our quarantine is over. We won’t be allowed back if we catch it and I would feel awful being an international spreader if we came back and had it. Though we intend to quarantine fully for 2 weeks when we return as well

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 30/11/2020 16:08

Forgot to write what I had yesteday!

B: an avocado
L: omusabi
S: ginger loaf, handful of cherry tomatoes
D: tofish (because it was so good last week!), potato and sweet potato wedges, roast Brussel sprouts, cheese less cheesecakes

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 30/11/2020 21:50

Sorry, busy day! It definitely does all suck indeed. The British climate makes it hard to plan outside stuff too. Am hoping to meet some friends in a garden setting at the weekend and rely on mulled wine to keep us warm Grin
ppeat my MIL is a Brit who moved abroad some 20 years ago. She's pretty isolated and lives alone, so although I'm not convinced it's sensible to come (given her age) I couldn't be the one to say she can't come (even though she will try my patience mightily during her stay!)

Yesterday was
B: spiced porridge made with water/soya milk, sultanas, Demerara and seeds
L: stew and dumplings with peas
S: pineapple, bbq smoked almonds
Dinner was an early advent feast of wok greens, veg gyoza, LM pork bao buns and some M&S exotic mushroom dumplings. And some sake.

Today was
B: coffee/date/pb/banana/soya milk smoothie
L: aubergine bake (sliced aubergine cooked in a chilli, tomato and coconut milk sauce topped with flaked almonds). A satsuma, a pear and pineapple
D: Dahl, cumin roasted veg, rice, spicy mango chutney, tenderstem, beetroot and a small piece of naan bread

OP posts:
IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 30/11/2020 23:55

L: leftover sprouts, hearts of palm, jalapeños and sugar snap peas
S: banana
D: African peanut stew and broccoli

ppeatfruit · 01/12/2020 09:02

Blimey that does sound a performance! IJumped I couldn't guarantee the results would get to me before I travelled. But it could work I suppose. I tested negative (swab and serum) 2 months ago. I reckon I had it mildly in March but no one knows enough to know if there are antibodies in the serum result! Boring too, sorry Grin

B. Leftover amoothie
L. Salad and HM carrot dip with ryvitas. Slice of HM molasses flapjack
Sn. frothy decaff coffee\cardamom delicious!!!
S. Spinach on toast

ppeatfruit · 01/12/2020 09:09

PartTime So your MIL will have to isolate when she arrives? I understand your patience being tried!! She will have to stay in her room won't she? You could'nt even give her food preparation to do !!!!
